The « Thomas Crown Affair » 1999 remake of the 1968 original blockbuster featured again Michel Legrand’s luscious, suave, debonair, refined and sensuous “Windmills Of Your Mind” world renown sound track and French melody but this time sung and interpreted by Sting in one of the most memorable versions one will ever listen to. Simple, laid back, calm, relaxed and just fabulous ; Sting in his element joining French arranging international star Michel Legrand in this 1999 blockbuster soundtrack “chanson” that incidentally featured American Actress Renée [French spelling] Russo and Irish actor Pierce Brosnan : An extraordinary tale of cunning delight and sensuality; Sting at his best paying tribute to the master of "everything" French star jazz and chanson legendary artist Michel Legrand [ « The Great » ] who was one of those cats we musicians have admired for more than half a century and will continue to do : "Les Parapluies de Cherbour", Yentl, Jazz, chansons, you name it he did it. Legrand scored more than 350 films and in Hollywood where he spend most of his musical career : Yentl being probably one of the quintessential highlights of his work. Paying tribute to Legrand is a daunting and impossible task but Sting did so here by signing this delightful recording.
I love this track, it is so tastefully classic and sophisticated. I would love to see Sting revisits this song and this time it could include with a smooth rhythm essence, with an orchestra with beautiful strings and a Spanish guitar. I would love to hear that. Maybe an idea for a new album and a new tour of this style? I think it will be awesome. 😄😘😄🌞❤️ Sting is always so exceptional in working with various artists, and creating new, fresh sounds in music. Has he worked with Gregory Porter other jazz or smooth jazz artists? That could be amazing too. 😀😀😀
