I love that you are focusing on The Thorne Miniature Rooms. I spent hours examining these as a child and they influenced my first career in interior design. I now encourage my art scholars to visit when they can.
Love the close up look at the miniature rooms. Can, and have spent hours looking at them in person...but while the info on the periods and typical decorations in rooms of the periods is nice, the stories about the creation of the miniature rooms themselves are fascinating and would be nice to have information on.
Guys, the video is wonderful but I wanted to look at the rooms NOT a hand cut out. Cute but so not the point. If you could have added 10 more seconds to each frame. Oh well
I went to the Thorne Rooms as a boy back in the 1950's and visit them every time I come back to Chicago. I LOVE the Art Institute and have visited many times through the years. Their collection rivals nearly every art museum in the world, a fact that can make most Chicagoans feel proud. Located in Grant Park, take in the Buckingham Fountain, too, the largest outdoor fountain in America with a spectacular night time show.
More! More! More! These short films are astounding in detail and presentation. I'm sure they are a labor of love to create. I can't wait to see more rooms introduced in the coming months!
