I'd watch a whole series of House just giving seminars to med students

7:22 We know in the end this patient was actually House himself, and grabbing the syringe of painkiller from the doctor's hand and injecting himself is 100% something House would do.

I love the common sense House uses here. All the students are trying to be clever, and House is like, well aren't you even going to look at the leg first.

I only just noticed how the three med students vaguely resemble Foreman, Cameron, and Chase. The boring guy, the girl who cares too much, and the prettyboy.

I love how he casts Carmen Electra as himself. But yeah, this episode doesn't just explain what happened to his leg. It also explains why he hates liars and patients who think they know better than their doctors; he lied because thought he knew better and it cost him a leg.

I wish House, M.D. had more episodes like this because it's supposed to be a "teaching hospital"

I like how House is actually giving a very good lesson even without his personal attachment to it. Leg pain is very common and can range from a sore muscle from excessive exercise to flesh eating bacteria that will kill the patient within a week, and everything between. With the main issue being that the initial symptom is pretty much always the same regardless of what it actually is “my leg hurts”.

"Oh, there are people who find those things out." Cuts to foreman and chase doing god knows what on yet another rediculous mission 😂

Honestly, if presented out of context, that clip of Cameron is entirely believable.

I really like how the previously not very full auditorium fills up because everyone wants to hear House's lecture.

i love the fact that when cameron is taking family history; the generations of greatparents get taller and bigger, indicating the linear line of family tree expanding back.

This was a brilliant episode, House's case being the middle ground was genius.

I love the end where the 3 students come to the realization that they still don’t know 💩 even after all the med school. What is on display in this episode is book knowledge vs experience knowledge. One can be taught. One cannot.

I said that before and I say it again : the first 3 seasons of house md are pure gold !!!

I am so engrained in the show, that I bought into Dr. House's dream, and only realized that Carmen Electra was a guest cameo when she and house interacted. This show is great!

This was one of the best House episodes. The team realise House is talking about himself, and they become even more interested in the story.

It's super infuriating when doctors blame EVERY patient in pain as a drug addict. If you go around trying to stop the drug addicts you're gonna attack regular people that don't deserve it.

They actually got Carmen Electra for the episode..... 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

I love how the patients are acting out and speaking out exactly how House is giving the facts. The whole episode is filmed so well. And then the literal visuals of what they talking about, like when they took the family history and all of the family was in the room with them.

I think this episode is easily one of my top 3 in all of House.

Probably my favourite episode, just brilliant.

Just a brilliant episode, one of my favourites, medically and story wise. I love House a lot, and can’t wait to watch it again after exams!

‘Carmen is mine’ 💀 -House

One of the best episodes in all of house

Really clever episode, I like how they utilize the hypothetical/teaching elements, like how the farmer is a stereotypical, over the top farmer which isn't how the show usually portrays characters. Usually they're one grounded thing and then it turns out they're actually more absurd.

This was not only the beat episode of House, but this was also the episode that gave definition to the character’House’. There’s almost no one who liked him, some were scared of him, some despised him and some down right hated him, no one wanted to be around him but when he spoke medicine and diagnostics everyone stopped and listened to him…the character’s genius was irresistible.

Just finished watching House all the way through, it's one of the best tv shows of all time I wish someone had made me watch it sooner! Don't miss this gem of a series!

I had to go watch this episode after watching the clip..haha, so good! And it got me thinking, a spin off about the teaching aspect of the hospital, with old characters we remember occasionally showing up, could be great. They couldn't call it House, and they'd have to be careful not to have the same issues scrubs had, but I could really see it working.

I work literally everyday… this is what gets me thru the day XD knowing I can come home and watch house , and other shows that are medical related :) ty to whoever puts these “short episodes” out !

At the start, the room has a small number of med students. By the end, the same shot shows the room packed, every seat filled, everyone (including his staff and friends) coming to listen.

As someone with a herniated disc pinching the nerve root, I would agree that's the amount of pain in that condition

I really loved "House." And I enjoyed so many episodes. from so many different seasons. But to this day, this one is still one of my absolute favs. No doubt!

My favourite detail is that the lecture starts almost empty, but is standing room only by the end.

@5:07 I like how those people agreed to be in the room together like that. And even if it was photoshopped in post, they still had to be arranged to where they weren’t blending into each other. This took compromise!

I’m a tad confused about how a dog bite was confused with a snake bite but.... ok. 🤷‍♀️ I loved how the young actors couldn’t help laughing at Hugh Laurie’s sarcastic lines. 😂

No one's commenting on the man that played House. In hindsight it's so obvious. He really captured House's mannerisms there.

The last patient who was seeking drugs acted exactly the way my wife describes these faking patients at her work.

Every week I end up watching a few of these house clips and they are great but I'm getting worried about coming to the point when I have watched them all, I wish I could ask house what I should do

I was once in agony, and the ER would not give me anything for the pain, because they assumed I was a drug seeker. It was like being trapped in a nightmare.

For anybody interested in what happened to House... House had a leg aneurysm in his thigh that clotted and blocked off blood flow causing the tissue in his quadricep muscles to begin to die which is what caused the pain he felt the first time. The doctors didn't diagnosis it in time but he did but by that time it was too late and most of the tissue in his leg was dead and at risk of causing him sepsis. He didn't want his leg amputated because in his words "I like my leg" and instead had them bypass all of the dead tissue to restore blood flow so he could keep his leg after everything that had happened. The issues this caused after surgery were a risk of organ failure and cardiac arrest but he chose to take that risk. After the surgery though, he had to deal with EXCRUCIATING pain that nearly killed him. He authorized being put into a medically-induced coma to sleep the pain away. Stacy was his medical proxy and Cuddy who was his doctor at that point, chose to remove just the dead tissue in his leg while he was in a coma. This resulted in part of his leg not working and House's chronic pain. Stacy going behind House's back is what broke them up (they were never married). One can also argue that the guilt of being the one to convince Stacy to go for the surgery and seeing what it caused House to have to deal with is the reason why Cuddy gave House so much leeway than anybody else would.

I loved how the story ended up being Dr. House with his knee!
