Was obsessed with anything New Wave in the 80's, but it took a friend who had a sister who worked at Tower Records to turn me on to this band. I'll be forever Grateful. Thanks, Jerry.
I saw the Three O'Clock at Club Minimal in Sacramento in the summer of 1983 and have never forgotten them. Then as now, I think Michael Quercio is a grossly under-appreciated talent, though I see that in this video--like always--he was being just too darned dreamy for his own good.. :)
@@chrisd19844 per the post by @Ron Tyrer : "The restaurant scenes were shot at Raydion in West LA. I just happened to think of it and searched and here it is! Thanks. So fun to see my old restaurant in this video. @Raydion83 on FB." How fortuitous that Ron posted 2 days ago [for me] and that I've seeing these comments from you from 4 months ago. [Hi Lori! You're connected to the Flamin' Groovies? Or is that you handle because you're a fan of that awesome band?!]
I'm really emotional about this. I've never heard this song before, but feel like I've heard it my whole life. My 13-year-old self would have been in love with this band, but they just never got radio play over here in the UK. What a pity.
Call it cashing in if you wish, but for many of us, the Three o' Clock is the only act in Coachella's lineup we'd have any interest in. Them reuniting is HUGE for those of us who remember.
I used to really like them, saw them play in this really small place in Las Vegas, can't even remeber what year that was, maybe around 82 or 83 but they were good.
... I saw them play at an underage club around 1985. My friends and I loved this song. We didn't know anything else about them. So glad I found this again after so many years.
I was there 79-82. It came out late 82 regardless of when you first heard it Sunshine, Came out 83 on an Album and 82 as a single in Europe. This tune would be played before and after the ship's news program depicting launch and recovery of aircraft on our flight deck. Our Captain was Kirk Douglas during all time warps.@@MisterSwollenNads-lg4mm

The reunion concert at glass house sounded PERFECT it really didnt suck at all cuz of the quality of the songs, which remain timeless gems just like they always did! Michael still got it, and vocally necessary to understand this amazing band's magic.
+MrDLOC11 Glad to hear it! Saw them thrice back in the 80s, and they killed it. Mariano's keyboards! The Three O'Clock have just announced a pre-Coachella show - they will be playing the Glass House in Pomona on April 6, 2013. Tickets available at the Burger record store.
Prince was inspired by the paisley sound bands, he even wrote songs for The Bangles and The Three O'Clock, and he named his studio after the sound, Paisley Park.
Yep. The brief "Paisley Underground" of a half dozen bands that got some brief recognition. Too bad they didn't get more. Some good talent there, but not bright and shiny enough to keep the public's interest for very long.
Too bad he ruined The Three O'Clock. The album he produced is their absolute worst, so bad I wonder if he sabotaged the band to get more leverage for his own paisley underground rip-off.
@@dr.treddell yeah because Prince need it to rip-off others musicians because he lacked talent and originality....SARCASM ALERT!!! LOL! What's next? Martin Scorsese rip-off Francis Ford Coppola because he also made a gangster movie? LOL!
Early 1980s version of the Monkees and before Top Gun. Top Gun producer probably loved this video. Love the drummer's brown blazer. All the good things for young white men are gone now. Awesome song not too hard not too soft. Upbeat song. Want to hear this on a mild sunny in my car and see some old friends from the past.
What happened to The 3 O’Clock is beyond sad. Those very young guys needed guidance and they needed a true adult in the room to make it work and no record company in Los Angeles had an adult in the entire company. The record companies at that time had only coke heads and pedophiles. The 3 O’Clock should have been huge.

I didn't mean to sound crass. I'm excited as hell they are playing Coachella, but I am realistic that like all 80's band revivals, it is truly that, and not a true reunion. This band cannot sound anything like it did 30 years ago, especially given Michael's tenor voice dropping...so I can't imagine a reunion would be a good idea. I am more of a purist, I admit, and prefer to remember the band as they were. That said, yeah it's really great they are doing Coachella!
Is this the same Three O'Clock that is playing at this years (2013) Coachella Festival? And if so, when did they get back together and are they playing anywhere else, 'cuz I wanna see them, but not there.
i love them, but looking at the crowd that coachella promotes too, why would they want the three o'clock there? most of their fans are at least in their mid 30s and up. i thought it was strange enough the roses are headlining one night, even though they dont have a huge following in the states
