@@Triads297 that’s part of why I’m thinking Isaac. Idk what his trade value is, but I doubt it’s anything crazy. Feels like it could reasonably happen.
Grizzlies haven't had their off season yet. Everyone forgets that they are a top 3 seed when healthy. Ja and JJJ about to hit their prime at the same time.
Bobby portis is on the trade market now and okc should try to get him, the bucks need a Beasley replacement and okc has plenty of those type of players.
@@curtisrobertson3342not sure okc would do that deal. Joe is a legit sniper. Okc has cap space to play with they don’t NEED to get rid of guys in trades
Isaiah Joe too important I’d rather Klay tbh. Okc still needs size to help Chet at the end of the day and trading Memphis for Steven Adams easily brings an additional 8-13 defensive rebounds a game, then moving in transition with with sga Jaylen and klay would be crazy
I am conflicted with this. While I think the reason this offense was so good last season was because of the spacing Chet provided without giving up any defense, rebounding and size was a real big issue during the playoffs. You have two options to fix that. Hope that Chet makes the next step and get rid of that weakness or find a person who can fix that. I don't think the thunder sound find a traditional big to do that because it'll hamper their offense so again I'm am really conflicted with that
@@gRaNdMaStASexXxii94okc got better after the deadline being a middle rebounding team the problem isn’t chet at the 5 the problem is being undersize at the forward position jdub needs to be a 3 and okc need big forward at the 4 spot and another backup big
I definitely disagree with your take that Chet can’t be the 5. I dont think he should be playing the 4 where much more mobile players are going to torch him on the perimeter. He should be protecting the rim, and also having 2 bigs would really mess up their play style that they’ve built on (drive and kick, 5 out, forcing turnovers and getting out in transition)
@@brianbadonde9251 just say you didn’t watch okc they lost due to poor shooting not because the style didn’t work also the Celtics literally run the same playstyle with minor changes
I been a thunder fan since 2009 and this is the most excited I been for this team since 2016. If we can develop Chet and J-dub to be at least all stars then SGA, Chet, and J-dub could be a better trio or as good of a trio as KD, Westbrook, and Harden.
I think the Thunder are able to dream big here. You have an endless amount of picks to trade. They could be looking at anyone from Markannen to Mikal Bridges. Everyone should be a "free agent" if the price is right.
@@beef2503 using box score plus minus is a terrible way to analyze a player especially if you didn’t watch chet was extremely impactful defensively it was offensively that was the problem for him he couldn’t hit a 3 The mavs was struggling to score in the for majority of that series due to chet just offensively chet couldn’t hit a shot Also shai was a complete negative against the mavs if we use box score plus minus even though he was the best player in that series or 2nd best
OKC seems to do everything right they lost alot of playmaking with giddy but drafted Nikola Topic probably one if not the best playmaker out of this draft, GM doing magic once again
Raptor fan here Og and Gv yep very good pairing and they are former raptors who know and like each other and playing styles Very good suggestion most folks like you in the USA dismiss the Raptors and Their player development. This one makes sense
OKC doesn't need Caruso to start, he can come off the bench with Cason Wallace starting. Cason/SGA is a real legit guard duo in the league. You just want Alex there for 20 minutes where you run over the other team in the second half
I don't think there's ever been a team so well positioned for success in NBA history. We've never seen this combination of youth, talent, cap space, and assets. But OKC has to make sure not to wait too long. People act like their title window is infinite, but that's not the case. Their team will quickly become very expensive. And picks often get less valuable after you use them to draft a player. Look at Memphis. Granted, they weren't as well positioned as OKC. But they've lost Kyle Anderson, DeAnthony Melton, Tyus Jones, Grayson Allen, Steven Adams, Dillion Brooks, and Xavier Tillman over the last few years and replaced them with Marcus Smart, Luke Kennard, and Derrick Rose. They've also burned through some of their picks. And it's not like losing all those good players gained them cap space. They're at $175 million next year already. They were the promising young team just a few years ago, and maybe they still can be. But it's going to get a lot harder. Especially with the new CBA rules, teams need to be thinking about this stuff and acting aggressively early. Windows are shorter than they ever have been.
Not buying Klay or Jonas to okc…as for Hartenstein I think it’s going to depend on what happens in the draft. If they get Holmes or another 4/5 then they probably pass on a FA big.
Dude keeps bringing up Klay… bruh their priority has to be strengthening the front court… they need an interchangeable 4/5 guy that can either start alongside Holmgren or come off the bench so that they always have size around rim. Caruso is not starting for this team, they picked him up to back up the Dort so he stays out of foul trouble like in that Dallas series. Val is a good option if he can keep up with the pace, and his physicality will aid in Holmgrens development during practices. Val can stretch the floor by the way, many teams underestimate his range. Someone down below mentioned Jonathan Issac which could definitely work, he’s still young and versatile. Bottom line is I think OKC is maybe 1-2 guys away from being a serious contender, I just don’t think either one of those two players is Klay Thompson.
The west is already tough asf to get through and only going to get harder in the future. Okc is nice but I just cant see them tearing through the west every year like the warriors were doing to be a dynasty
@@superchefj he be a backup to chet any big okc gets will be a backup.Okc wants chet at the 5 and so does chet, okc are at their best when Chet at the 5 it a reason okc haven’t gone after big in the past when they easily could because they want to continue their style and they’re not changing that especially for harenstien of all players
Big no on Klay. Soft no on OG. The team is strong on the perimeter/wing. They need serious help in the post. They’d be smart to slightly overpay for a free agent big, overpaying to keep the contract at 3 years. Hartenstein, Claxton, Valenciunis (sp?) would good options. Draft the best player available. If another big that can develop in the next 2 years - even better.
Chet absolutely can and will be the Thunder's future full time 5. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and I implore you to look in to how Presti and Mark intend to build this team.
I think OKC needs to get Hartenstien for like 21 and then extend alex caruso 3 years at like 30M, and this season just give him the rest of our cap. Just like we did with collison.
Okc should trade with the raptors for Chris bouchier and jacob poeltl. Jacob fits perfect as their centre. He’s very smart and an underrated passer. He’s super efficient and can play along side Chet, and in certain match ups Jacob comes off the bench.
I'm not getting my hopes up until after draft night. We had cap space last year and Presti took on Bertans 20 million contract to move up and get Cason Wallace. I wouldn't be shocked if he pulls that move again to try and get J Dubs brother or maybe even someone higher. We have been swapping good picks with teams for potentially lesser value ones years down the road that's how many we have. We were supposed to have 4 first rounders in this draft but now we have 1. We've officially become a team with too many picks who has to pay to get rid of them. So we should just flip some now and take on a bad contract and get as high up the draft as possible.
You don’t know what you’re talking about okc trade the worst picks for better ones the reason okc has only one pick is because the other picks was not that valuable all of them were late 20 picks outisde of the picks we have now
@@Wrestle_Kingdom Dude we did not trade those picks because we wanted to get more value. Yes this is a bad draft but regardless of if it was good or bad we'd still have to trade those picks because we simply don't have the roster space to accommodate them all. We traded a first and a second to Denver for one of their future firsts. Who knows what that could be. Next year is supposed to be a loaded draft and we have four firsts and two seconds. Miami's is lottery protected so that should come to us, Philli's is 1-6 protected which is a guarantee to come to us, Utah 1-10 could easily come in and we will get the Clippers pick swap which could end up being a lottery pick if PG leaves and Kawhi gets hurt. But we cant cash them all in it's impossible. It would be better to use one of them now with our 12th pick and take on a bad contract to get as high up in this draft as possible instead of making another Denver trade mid season because we we figure out we have six picks and maybe two roster spots available.
@@SonnyK248 the Denver pick is more valuable than the pick we gave because it not until 2029 the purpose of picks is to make sure we have flexibility to make trades when it time to move off of players Okc knew when they got all these picks they weren’t going to use to them all but that doesn’t mean just throw every pick just to get rid of them this draft is not worth trading up it better to do that in next year draft when it projected to be good this year just either trade 12 and a pick for a good player or draft someone who can play immediately
Id fucking love og man. Perfect fit on this team will dort come of bench or u start og at 4? Shai dort jdubb og chet? Kason caruso and a big c off the bench along with legit youth they have on the bench...ooof
Claxton, whilst an excellent defender, isn’t any better of a rebounder than Chet, he’s had his own issues as a rebounder. I think they’d be much better off going after a Lauri or OG that will allow them to play bigger whilst maintaining the 5 out offense. Such an exciting team for the future
@@Wrestle_Kingdom Silly me for thinking that they would have had to pay to keep Harden. Or not understanding that it doesn't matter how far you go over the salary cap. We "casuals" are like that.
Can someone explain what happens to Gordon Hayward this off-season? Doesn't his contract expire? Do they let him walk? Do they get to use the money on someone else?
I don’t like this trade. They sacrificed Josh Giddey for. Alex Caruso who his inconsistent and a not real offensive option epescially if OKC have an serious injury by SGA or Jaylen
If Klay were to be traded to Okc we definitely getting over the hump we don’t need klay to be a super sniper just bring that finals experience and be clutch and with the addition of Caruso I’d be comfortable saying Okc makes finals this year… are two players like this enough to beat Boston?
I think so too. But I think they'll realistically set a max offer of 35 million per year. If any team offers 40 million per year, I can't lie I see Knicks letting OG walk... Unless they match the 40 million per year, and trade Randle this summer. That's the only way I see them keeping him if they have to overpay.
Why don’t they just get lauri markenen, you will have 2 stretch bigs and if Chet can’t handle a giannis he will still have lauri’s help defense and size. They will be like the Boston Celtics 2strech bigs 2all star players Sga and jalen williams and a ton of defensive players.😮😮
It’s hilarious when non Thunder fans speak on what moves they should make. It’s so obvious who has been keeping up with what the Thunder has been saying since the rebuild started and who is just speaking like it’s 2K and takes are shallow lol
Facts every year I keep telling people what okc going to do and they keep getting mad thinking I making it up especially in the draft when every year they mock okc traditional big and I keep being right when they don’t do it
Exactly, it's hilarious to me when people talk about bringing in a "real starting 5" when this is the worst Chet season we're going to see and he's probably already a top 25 player in the league
I’ve been rocking with you since you were posting in that dungeon you were held in and I used to check your body language to make sure that if you needed help I could do my best. And, ever since then you were solid unless you were talking about the Knicks. Your Knicks takes are always underwhelming; I am never whelmed by your takes. You never have the Knicks point of view and I know it may seem like I’m sensitive, I am but if you are never right with the take then both things can be true.
Ok can only offer og 35 mill the Knicks would outbid them every day off the week and he also wants to stay with us it is getting incredibly annoying to see all these videos about where he could go when the Knicks r a better situation 4 og than all these teams except Philly which i admit is better 4 og but Philly would not pay og enough bc they would not want 2 of their 3 best players to b extremely injury prone. The whole reason og left Toronto is he wanted a bigger offensive role and he would not get that in okc so idk what to tell yall
OKC is a better team than the Knicks, and would be just as good of a fit. With that said, I don’t think OKC would gamble on OG due to his reliability injury wise. The Knicks are going to be the team to take that gamble I think. But him ending up elsewhere is 100% possible.
@@mosin9349 never mind hope y’all enjoy og maybe we can get him back? But i rather he go to y’all than Philly hopefully Philly will get pg13 and y’all will have an open lane to get og hope we meet in the finals
Ppl saying dynasty coming. They also thought same before when they had KD Russ, & Harden. But egoes got in the way. Remember, Harden wanted out bc of like $10 million, & also remember, Harden was coming off bench & sucked it up in the Finals.
You realize during that Finals the hard cap hit because of the lockout season previously? You realize Clay Bennett was the sole owner as opposed to now they have an ownership group? Also you realize they didn’t have the flexibility of assets like they did during that Harden era? It’s inevitable
This ain't directed at you, but don't you find it crazy how Klay went from being the biggest liability in GS to such a big trade topic? Did the media omit something? Was he actually bad, or have the comments chilled since Draymond and Wiggins are helping A LOT less
I’d be surprised if Sam presti makes such a mistake as to sign an injury prone OG! I’m a Knicks fan saying this! Love OG but the dude can’t stay healthy for $h!+!
Dude, the more I watch RU-vidrs talk about basketball, the more it makes me want to start up my own channel. Half of these dudes just be yapping man. Og anunoby isn’t going anywhere. His father is the president of basketball operations on the Knicks. The second the Knicks traded for him, they already had an under the table deal set. Hartenstein isn’t going anywhere where either. OKC has a better shot at getting Mitchell Robinson. Dude spent half the video talking about something that will never happen. Literally an hour after I commented this, the Knicks trade for mikal bridges lol. OG AINT GOING NOWHERE!
Klay Thompson? He can't defend, can't rebound, can't pass. All he can do is shoot 3's. He's had a negative BPM in 4 of his past 5 years. He's 34 years old and has wrecked knees. Do not sign this man.
People aren’t gonna like this and I’m not even a thunder fan but if I’m the thunder, I’m calling the bucks and saying “ look, you have no assets and dame looks cooked. Give us giannis for Chet and 4 firsts”. It would be a win now move for the thunder
@@blowc1612 you must be low on Chet. Thunder fans want to keep Chet over Gianni’s. When a trade does happen, I’ll bet money that the bucks won’t get a better prospect than Chet.
No thanks, don’t want or need Klay. He’s washed. Caruso will be sixth man after we sign a 5, probably Valanciunas. Love OG, but he doesn’t solve our biggest problem.
OKC is overrated. SGA is as old as Tatum and all the picks won’t be able to be used and the contracts will be too high. Going to be 5th seed for the next 4 years and than have to rebuild again
How’s is 30 points a game with great efficiency and the youngest #1 seed ever overrated? 2nd in steals on the season? Scored 30+ every game against Dallas. Ur just talkin for no reason. Sorry no one thinks Tatum is top5. Better hope the east is injured again next playoffs.
SGA is basically as good as Tatum with Chet who has all star potential. They have elite shooters and great defense with a top 10 guy. All the ingredients needed to win a chip
@@ry_an. yeah I Just said he is older than the rest of the core and the Josh giddy trade makes me rethink Sam presti. I don’t think he can build a championship team
@@Hmmmmmm487 why wouldn’t you trade Josh Giddey. He’s poor on defense, needs the ball in his hands, can’t shoot, and was benched in the playoffs. Shai is 4-5 years older than most of them. It’s not like 35 year old Curry with a hunch of rookies. Caruso is a low risk high reward guy you can fill your roster out with
Washed is a strong word… you’re comparing him to his prime. OKC is still young and could need the Championship experience from a player like him if they reach WCF and NBA finals. And he does not need to be signed to a long term contract. It can be an expiring one around the time their younger core will need new contracts. Klay is a very good addition short term especially offensively and for the spacing. He shot 38.7% from 3 on 9.0 attempts. If that’s washed then that only speaks on hiw good he actually is.
@@Zemlja_je_ravnathey don't NEED to go spend their cap no, but it's alot more efficient teambuilding to use that money while your guys are on rookie deals, then extend them later on with their bird rights. That gives them a very real chance to contend now, whoever they use that money on may walk after their contract but they'll have young guys ready to step in
Dude a defensive lineup of OG, Dort, Chet, Shai, and JDub with Caruso off the bench would be crazy. But if he wants too much money, then getting Val plus Klay would fantastic. Crazy rotation of Shai, Chet, JDub, Dort, and Klay with Val, Caruso, Isaiah Joe, Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins plus somebody from the draft is fucking insane. And the crazier part, is that that lineup is barely even touching all of their draft picks. At this point, Presti is my goat.
@@ry_an.we have 4 open roster spots and a million picks, we don’t need to get rid of Dort. He’s a legitimate 3 point shooter now while locking up star players. Caruso I think would make the second unit better than Dort, and Caruso is fine doing that. Besides that it’s the closing minutes that matter the most and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lineup with Caruso and Dort out there depending on what’s needed.
Y’all have to understand Chet is the 5 any 5 okc gets will be a backup okc going to get big forward to help Chet and move jdub to the 3 and get a backup big Also do not believe in these rumors okc been link to players all the time and is never true especially in the draft okc typically don’t let information get out
