Hi Thank you for uploading this beautiful, beautiful song of the sixties, by The Thunderbirds. It has always been one of my favourites, and always will be, I will never get tired of listening to it. I hope you do not remove it from your channel. Thank you
Yeah Alfred, you are absolutely right, this is one of the beautiful version of such songs you will never hear from local bands anymore, I don't think other foreign bands also have such songs, I do salute all the local bands of the sixties in Singapore, I felt they are a real talented lot, and I do support the local bands
Oh!Such a sentimental voice and impressed me deeply. I am so intoxicated with this song. Old songs are gold and it's value are priceless. Thanks so much for the upload.
When i was young age 9th. First time my parent have Cassette Recorder Player. We live in Lampung Sumatera, Indonesia. I love this music n song but i didnt know the meaning. Because i didnt speak english. Bring back the memories in 1976
Translation: "White birch trees, blue sky, south wind, That hill where the magnolias are in bloom spring in the North Country, aaa , the North country! You won't feel the seasons in the big city A small package arrived from Mum. Shall I go back home? Shall I go?Snow has melted, a brook murmurs, a wooden bridge The larch's buds are coming out in the spring of the North Country, aaa, the North country. We dared not say I love you five years have passed since we went our ways How would she be doing now? Shall I go back home? Shall I go?Butter murmurs, morning mist, a watermill. A children's song sounds in the spring of the North country, aaa, the North country. My father and big brother, sitting silently are these two having drinks once in a while? Shall I go back home? Shall I go?"
Youre mistaken. The singer was Harvey Fitzerald. The THUNDERBIRDS: DERRICK FITZGERALD, lead guitarist IVAN FITZGERALD, percussions WILLIAM WEE, bass guitarist FREDDIE TAN, drummer HARVEY FITZGERALD, vocalist, rhythm guitarist
In those days, money were scarce. Save like mad on pocket money for weeks just enough to buy a single vinyl record to play on my uncle's extremely old gramophone. So it was either playing Side A or Side B over and over again for weeks and months till got sick of the song. Well at most I have only 3 vinyl record during those days.
good to hear from singapore. it's been like ages since i heard music from there since they banned long hair and all the bands including my own (fried ice) . i left after that for canada.... and never heard anything about a music scene. rock on ! ................ fandalism.com/mattjsltan
