I bought my OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock over three years ago, in March 2021, and have been using it daily ever since. I use it with my M1 MacBook Pro and Apple 27" display, as well as external hard drives and SSDs. It has performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for the video. I’ve had one of these docks for about six months and have been very happy with it overall. FYI: You can dim or turn off the OWC logo. Here’s some more info from OWC's docs (ther “internal button” they refer to is located above the OWC logo on the front of the dock). "LED Brightness control - by default the LED is set to a high brightness level. You can switch the LED to a lower brightness, or turn off the LED, by inserting the end of a paperclip to press the internal button. Minimal force is required. If you unplug the OWC Thunderbolt Dock from power, the LED will be reset to the default brightness level when power is reconnected.”

Comprehensive, practical review. I've been waiting to pull the trigger on this dock and you've helped make up my mind.

A timely video. I have purchased two of these OWC Thunderbolt docks. I use one for the Mac Mini and one for my Mac Air13. For the Mac Mini, you can in fact use both a Satechi/Hagibis/Elecife style hub AND the OWC Thunderbolt Hub concurrently, if your budget permits. I have attached a Satechi with an internal V-NAND 1TB internal SSD to one of the Mac Mini's lightning/USC-C ports, and the OWC to the second. Also using two 4k monitors on the Mini, one through the provided HDMI connection, and one through the OWC. I have had zero problems with this set-up and the expandability to add additional storage drives is outstanding.

I think you can turn the light off by sticking a safety pin in the hole on the front of the device above the owc logo. Great review.

Great video I have the TB3 version of the dock and love it. I personally got it over this one because the plug to the computer is also in the back which looks better with cable management.

Nice work. Any testing on a PC? ( wondering if USB-C will work on "Thunderbolt" - as it seems to claim that it will) Thank you regardless

Thanks for this video, do you know if this would be OK to connect to my Mac Mini? I'm worried the 96w TB4 port may damage my Mac Mini. Most reviews seem to be for Macbooks. Thanks

Can the 3 thunderbolt ports used to use my Samsung G9 Odyssey @ 120 hertz?

Hi there. Given it has 3 USB-C ports, I have two 2k monitors (HDMI or USB-C) and a camera (USB-C) but I also have peripherals (e.g. Bluetooth speakers, mousse etc) that charge via USB-C. Can both monitors operate sep via one USB-C port? I assume not and if not, any recommendations on other docks? Note, I have a Mac mini and a IBM laptop, so plan to switch the main power cable between them. Thanks!

I just wish it had a power switch to power on the laptop without opening its lid everytime.

M1 Macbook Air user here. With my laptop closed and sleeping, it is enough to press any key on my keyboard for it and my external monitor to wake up. No need for the power button.

Had OWC for two years, not a power user. Used for music studio, USB 2 audio interface, monitor. MIDI peripherals etc. The USB 3.2 used as main audio connection has just packed in. OWC support say it's hardware. No repair service in the UK and just out of warranty. Really disappointing at this price. Customer support were great but can't do a thing or advise where to take it to have what I'm guessing will be an expensive fix. Avoid.

Shame on me for buying this assuming it New when it arrived was used and sent charging alarms in my new Win 11 1000.00 laptop. I hope it did no damage and OWC was like call MSI to have them fix it. Simple pass through would nt work right. My advice if you have a 30.00 Chrome book maybe go for this or save 30 bucks and get an Ebay or Alibaba dock. If you have a PC you care about Think long and Hard before considering this 50 dollar paperweight.
