I really wish they offered an option where the pocket clip was offset 90 degrees from the ring. Carrying this in my back left pocket, it has a tendency to rotate, making it uncomfortable and more difficult to "draw" quickly and repeatably. I'm genuinely not sure why they decided 180 degrees was the best option.
Just got the switchback and put it on my Streamlight ProTac HL . I’m not saying it is hard or difficult to do but because the Streamlight button is somewhat recessed in the tail cap it makes it hard to activate when flipping it around to help hold your firearm. The Surefire tailcaps have a more pronounced button and easier to activate. Lesson learned
I just got my switchback 1.0 today. I can already tell its an advantage but it does add alot of girth to my g2x pro. I'm going to add some griptape to it to hopefully make it more secure when clipped.
Yeah I want to know this too! Thyrm compatibility chart does not say specifically, that the 2.0 large wont fit. thyrm.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/CompatibilityChart_v10_16_per_modelDec202023-2-800x801.jpg
I would love to use the Switchback but it's not available for any Fenix light. I paid less than $80 for two different 1000 lumen Fenix models. The least expensive Surefire at 1,000 lumens is the PX3 Fury. Not paying $225 for the same light as my Fenix models just because it says Surefire on the barrel. The Streamlight HL-X seems to be compatible for less than $100.
Yes with a dremel. I also put the thyrm on from the front until it covered the tail cap. I just change batteries from the head instead of the tail cap. You can use electrical tape to get a tighter "fit"
I work law enforcement. I got the swichback on my duty flash light and thought it'd be great and it is. However... The biggest problem im having is fixing malfunctions while keeping the light on the target. Light on pistol still the better option
Always best to use the flashlight (Surefire with Thyrm ring) versus pointing a weapon mounted flashlight at a threat to confirm the threat first. Just pointing a weapon at a person depending on the circumstances does not protect you from criminal charges. In addition I also recommend carrying USCCA insurance if you carry or own a gun in today’s world. A lot of jarheads would disagree but that’s why they’re jarheads.
Thyrm states that this product works with the stream light protac HL and does not work at all. It fits, but it does not work. Thyrm did not think through there design and they failed to warn us that it would not work. I’m very disappointed in this product and their claims.
Ya but what happens if you happen to be a woman? Do we not need self defense? I got mine today and it is 3 times the size of my finger. You always say guys there are a few gals out here watching your videos. I'm sure there aren't to many but my brother sends me links on what he thinks I need to learn. It seems like all you guys think we should still be in the kitchen. Don't you have a mother or sister you think needs this information too ?
It seems like all you gals think guys ONLY think females belong in kitchens making sandwiches. Not sure who crapped in your cornflakes but you are generalizing an entire group of people because of maybe a few experiences. As for the product not fitting you properly, nothing is really one size fits all. There will be someone somewhere out there that cannot fit or use a thing the same as others. Just like gun grips, some will just not fit females or smaller handed males properly. You can adapt and overcome, or just return the thing and find something else or some other method that works for you. People tell me slingshotting a pistol slide is easier. I cannot get enough traction doing that. So I don't do it, instead of complaining it doesn't work and thinking I HAVE to do it. Pretty sure no-one ever said women don't need self defense. Many females own guns,, and there are products, admittedly hokey looking, in pink for females like tazers and pepper spray as well just to make it a more attractive option for some females that would otherwise NOT want something in black. Should be obvious but my first sentence was full of sarcasm.
Whats happens is: You return it and suggest a smaller size be made to their customer service dept instead of accusing men of thinking women should still be in the kitchen on youtube.
What you may have overlooked is that Thyrm makes only one size most likely to cut down on the cost of production. It may not having anything to do with neglecting female consumers or people with smaller hands. It has to do with the size of the market and whether offering another size/variation would be profitable or worth the trouble. In regards to your comment, "you guys think we should still be in the kitchen", I think it is insulting to men or women who work at home taking care of their families. This is very hard work, and they are making a sacrifice to prioritize their family over career. Personally, I'd rather work 12 hours a day than to take care of children, cook, and clean all day. Most couples work outside of the home, because they can't survive on one income. It's not because it is necessarily better for children's upbringing. Who can argue children are better served when there is at least one parent to supervise, nurture, and guide their children on a full-time basis?
