I feel like people who complain about not seeing enough of the Tie Dagger forget that the Tie Interceptor only appeared for a few scenes in ROTJ. And the B-Wing. And the A-Wing. And the Tie Bomber. Oh, and the Arc-170 is only seen for...like 2:30 seconds. And the V-Wing is seen for a few seconds. In fact, it is very rare that a ship gets any real screen time in ANY of the films unless it is an X-Wing, Tie, Star Destroyer, or hero ship. Technology and ships usually shine in books, games, and series.
To be honest: "Could Have Been Awesome" best describes the Sequel Trilogy XD I'm Not a Sequel Trilogy hater by any means, it just could have been so much better.

I like this new TIE quite a bit. It feels like what could've happened if The Empire was actually willing to spend the Credits upgrade the standard TIE fighter.

Mario Badia first of all that looks nothing like his design. second, he did point out that TFA did have concept art for a tie fighter with triangle wings and that they could have based the dagger on that. Third there are a lot of things that are unique to this tie that EC Henrys tie also had such as the airfoil like structures on either side of the cockpit, the rudders at the rear of the triangle wings, and protruding engine elements.
At the last seconds of the final battle I realised that there's a new TIE and I totally forgot about it. I wouldn't be surprised if less than 1% of the viewers even realised there's something new flying there. Kinda like when Sith Troopers showed up and I went "oh right, we have that one as well".

@@kkkkkkkkggggggg5934 Shit, at one point I was wondering when will Phasma show up because for a moment I totally forgot about her death and wondered if she'll be wasted this time around. Seeing how Edwards loves Star Wars stuff I'm pretty sure some scenes showing new ships, species or even just places. The first part with a lot of planet hopping was surely filmed later because it just feels so detached from the rest of the movie. I'm pretty sure it was what Gilroy filmed in order to give characters more depth. Cassian's scene was probably in the first cut but the rest with Bodhi and Jyn looks like it was added later.
The TIE Dagger is impressive because it seems the ideal Tie design that the Empire want for the Imperial Navy. Though considering that Palpatine was secretly tested the TIE Design with Imperial Navy, and seeing both the strength and weakness of the TIE. Maybe the Galactic Empire was a glorified experiment for the Sith Eternal returns to the Galaxy.
Really wish they would bring back the *TIE Hunter...* it is one of the most unique TIE variants in Star Wars: Legends, and in my opinion it is also the coolest. It would've also been thematically appropriate for the First Order to use TIE Hunters from the start being that the ship was designed as X-Wing killer, rather than just go with an upgrade of the standard TIE/LN with a reversed paint job. So many missed opportunities with the sequels...
The tie dagger reminds me of something you’d see in legends after the defeat of the entire. I like the design but I wish it would’ve had more screen time
after reading the TRoS visual guide the one thing that really makes me sad (im not so sad the saga is over as i kinda lost interest after the disjointed final 2 episodes) is that the Sith Eternal had the potential to be really really interesting
@@carlosandleon I agree, it seems like there would have been a lot more character development if this was the only second movie... well, as much character development you can get with the sequels of course. The prequels and original movies had a very strong connection to each other, the story just flowed together (barring any plot holes, of course), but the sequels tried to drive the whole idea of "let the past die" that they just felt like they belonged in their own canon apart from the other six movies. Just sad that this is what we're left with to talk about, not about how great Star Wars is.
The wings of the Tie Dagger I'm not too sure about. The lore book behind the Tie Interceptor mention that the Tie Interceptor wings were shaped in a way which provide a better cockpit side view for the tie pilot. The Tie Dagger wings seen to be extending out block the cockpit side view.

the building of the sith fleet reminds me of the episode from the old thunderbirds show where TB2 is suffers heavy damage, the tracy's had to buy the replacement parts from multiple companies in order to hide what they were building
It would have been nice if JJ used one of the destroyer designs from TFA Art of making book instead of the ISD since a lot from that book was recycled for the film. At least the dagger made it.
Palpatine may have acquired a Star Forge. That would explain how he was able to build the fleet in secret as well as how he was able to construct the second Death Star so quickly.

One thing I don’t like is that the whole point of the interceptor’s (as well as defender’s) split wing design is for so the solar collectors don’t interfere with the pilot’s vision
We may just see it again in other media like a spin off live action or cartoon/anime style show on disney+. All I now is I plan on getting the lego set version on this ship.😁

I thought I liked the design in the movie until I got a closer look. I hate how forward heavy it is. It needs to either have the wings centered or have them extend backwards more.
So how did they transport all this stuff? Apparently the wayfinder things needed to be plugged in to go to exogal, but it seems npcs can just move back and forth from exogal without issue.
None of the Tie Fighters make any sense. Those walls on the sides just block that really open cockpit view. Which would otherwise be one of the best open views in a fictional ship.
I still think that this ship would look better if the wings weren't connected to the pylons at the triangle's edge. One of the reasons I like EC Henry's TIE vector is that the pylons connect around the middle of the triangle, TIE dagger by comparison looks way off
Shields in star wars make no sense. A tie fighter shots an xwing and it blows in one shot. You launch ion missles at a star destroyer and they hit it. Have we ever seen Shields actually work? Hard to remember.
Yeah, in the films shields are sometimes talked about but are pretty much never shown to do anything, especially not in starfighter combat. We do see them work sometimes in the animated series like Clone Wars and Rebels, and of course they are much more utilized in novels and video games, but in the live action films? Not really.

The Xyston-class destroyers were being built before the battle of Endor. Palpatine showed them off to Vader. And the Rise of Skywalker is sorely lacking. Palpatine isn’t even mentioned!
