They should focus on the actual comedy, not the attention grabbing drama but that's how it goes I guess. Riding that wave of relevance until they have to stir the pot, or actually make anything comedic related that's not a sleepy podcast.
@George Hori Kapu nah, I doubt she thought Bobby would get beat up for it, and could care less regardless. Like I said she didn't know the damage she caused, and could care less. She knew a extent of it.
Ari is the exact type of person that can dish it out but can't take it. The things that Ari gets upset about are things that he would crack up laughing at if it wasn't happening to him. Not taking up for Bobby or anything but Ari's hypocrisy is palpable. (A lot of people seem to be misunderstanding what I said. I didn't say Bobby was a good person, ironically, the only thing I said about Bobby is that I wasn't taking up for him. My only point is that Ari is an awful piece of shit and it's strange seeing the dude who made his career being a scumbag call someone else out for being a scumbag.)
It’s tough to get a story straight from Bobby. He’s always said his stories are extremely embellished or complete lies. Good work at putting this together
I love how Ari is talking about getting cheated on, and the first thing she asks is "where were you in your career?". How is that the first question you ask?
It’s incredible how she can be shown how their poor decision making as well as lack of action negatively affected someone else, and she turn it into “omg so you were like getting beat up by a bully lol”
Bobby always gets away with being shitty because people pity him like an injured dog. In every scenario, Bobby is always given the benefit of the doubt, "oh poor little Bobby." I like Bobby, I think he's hilarious, but he has to drop the "oh poor defenseless me" act IMO.
This is the first story that made me realize Bobby was the most spineless person in the universe. You let another grown man beat you up multiple times and then you embrace them afterwards.
Yup. He tries to do things so people like him and getting ahead in the business instead of just doing what's right. He puts himself in bad spots because he has no spine.
So you missed the part where Bobby is a scumbag who was out there partying and wasting money then borrowed money from Ari and still continued his merry way while Ari didnt even have for rent. He was guilty.
i dont get how you dont understand attacking him. He was his friend to the point that he loaned him 5k and he then back stabbed him and even when confronted was smiling and not taking it seriously. the 5k probably really burned ari, if you feel someone back stabbed and humiliated you and theyre walking around with your money it's infuriating. i was on bobby side until i heard ari's in this video and now i fully get it.
@aw2584 "his friend who he loaned 5k tried siding with the person his girl was cheating with, whilst knowing the entire time. He was then confronted by his friend and kept getting told to not keep continuing on to only then continue pursuing despite the constant warnings." Idk how you can say all of that out loud and then continue thinking Lee didn't deserve that ass whooping
When Bobby said "he's suffering" about Ari losing his girlfriend to some other guy, man I know that feeling. Nothing is worse than sitting at home on a Friday night wondering what they are doing. The green-eyed monster (jealousy) is horrible and I never want to meet it again. I learned a lot from that experience.
Every guy needs to learn it. I guess maybe some don't if they find the right chick right away, but they're at risk of learning it during middle age too
Wildest thing of this whole story is how Bobby thought if your car is stolen there’s nothing you can do to recoup your losses….then instantly borrows money from someone to buy another car. What the hell?
Honestly this made me lose a lot of respect for Bobby. Yeah Ari was definitely in denial but imagine being in denial and then your friend is involved with it. He called himself Ari’s friend while he cozied with the dude stealing his girl, and he basically said because the guy was more important he didn’t want to say anything.
They’re all egotistical pieces of shlt.. they don’t need respect. They would let you die for a comedy gig every day of the week and laugh about it later
That'd make you more resentful than the guy who actually got cheated on. It happened 20+ years ago and they're talking again, but you can see it however you want. It's just a little silly to hold the promiscuous actions of a 20 year old up to 45 year old man.
I used to feel bad whenever Bobby told this story but now, not so much. The thing is Bobby is or at least was a really bad people pleaser. So he was definitely playing both sides and probably did kind of set them up because even though he was friends with ari , he didn’t want the other guy to not like him either.
That doesnt give Ari a reason to beat anyone up. Be mad at the bitch that cheated on you, don't be friends with Bobby for being snakey, what you don't do is throw hands. Gentlemen handle disagreements with words, not might.
I've never understood when someone gets cheated on and they blame anyone but the girlfriend. When I was in that situation I blamed my girlfriend 1000%. Of course there could be the .001% outlier where a friend has a hand in the actual cheating and it's understandable.
A girlfriend cheats because, idk, she fell in love with someone else or whatever. A friend helps to set it up to suck up to some extremely minor celebrity in hopes of gaining some favour with him. See the difference?
Op, I'm begging you to actually try and use your brain. Like actually think critically for 5 seconds. I promise you can do it. If your friend knew about your girlfriends cheating and didn't tell you, would you be upset?
NGL Bro bro, youre channel has grown on me. We have such different takes but this one I'm really into the way you break stuff like this down. I am really enjoying going through your backlog.
This is a good story to cover because it kind of shoots the whole infantilization of Bobby by the fandom in the foot. We can like and empathize with Bobby, but he is a self-aware adult. He’s admitted to being a bit cunning and manipulative and opportunistic in the past. He let another dude fuck his buddy’s gf because he wanted to elevate his profile and maintain an industry connection. He didn’t even really stop him like “hey that’s Ari’s gf, that’s not cool.” He was gonna let Carlos Mencia get away with joke theft because he was a big deal.
Victims of abuse are often spineless. I'm not even a victim of abuse that I know of, and I have a serious issue speaking up when I know I disagree strongly with something, it's a fear of confrontation that I've had for as long as I remember and I knew from a young age I was fucked up because in every book there's a theme of the protagonist standing up for what's right, speaking up when needed. I literally can't do that to this day, and it's entirely mental and it sucks in the moment and forever after regretting not doing what's right
@@rockyevans1584 hes 50 years old. One can use the defense of being abused in the past while being a teenager or young adult... not when they're in the grandpa stage. At some point you need to take fkin responsibility for being a piece of garbage towards your friends.
@@shsfehyr check the dictionary for the word often. You'll be surprised to learn it's not a synonym of necessarily. The age of the learned behaviour is a huge factor. If a young infant learns that speaking up results in angry yelling from their caregiver, The situation u describe doesn't happen.
@@Josh-fg5if uuhh i j have heart issues, omg he slipped me Molly. Bert continues to eat and being an alcoholic like there is no tommorow infront of his family. 😅
To answer the "how could they be friends after all that?" Here's how: Bobby had it coming. He was the link between Ari and his GF cheating on him. He dodged his debt to Ari. He may have indirectly cost him work. And Ari was pissed. So if Ari's thought was, "I'm gonna beat up this backstabbing a*hole," and Bobby came around to thinking, "Yeah, maybe I deserved that," that's how they could've buried that hatchet.
I love how people can cheat on their loved ones, destroy them emotionally, make them feel insane and then consider them "unhinged" for wanting to punch them in the face
@@isitoveryet9525 That she can ask a good question? I'm not here to defend her (I personally think shes a fucking cunt lol) But that question was to frame Natasha's actions. I would have asked the same thing, even knowing what the answer would be.
I believe Carlos, Bobby is definitely the type to do that. You can tell by how he acts when he tells ppl stores about how he uses his importance to cause drama with people who don’t know him in public places
This verifies why Bobby created that video for Carlos Mencia saying he doesn't stole jokes and doesn't know why Joe Rogan said that. He was just trying to keep his gig with Carlos to stay more relevant.
Nah, Mencia was on the way down. Bobby was cornered by Carlos to make it and Bobby felt bad because Carlos did a lot for him over the years and took him on the road
U should do a Mencia vs Rogan. It's Oldschool beef that many new listeners aren't aware of. Specially since Carlos Mencia was so big at the time and Joe was the front runner in taking him down.
You can tell Bobby has common sense once you pull back the layers. At least he is able to feel remorse after all is said and done. But in the moment, he can’t make the right decisions and ultimately hurts people around him
So Ari and Bobby were good enough friends that Ari lent Bobby $5k and Bobby didn’t even tell him when his GF was cheating?! Not only that, but Bobby went out of his way to get Intel from Ari for the other guy?! And then when Ari confronts him Bobby smiles in his face?! You should never resort to physical violence but geez, I could see how someone would be tempted. Due to his career at Mad TV, Bobby could have insisted on not wanting to get involved, not wanting to hear anything about it and staying out of it but instead he chose to be a sell out and betray his friend.
It's crazy how they all act like ari was a psycho. I don't know if it's because how I crew up or that I got in fights. But what he did don't seem like that big of a deal.
@@xandacab4285 yeah I just mean what was talked about in this video. But bert also drugged someone and then made a big deal out of it being done to him. So I think theyer all crazy specially in LA.
@@xandacab4285 yeah he has but at the same time I also her who great of a person he is. So I feel like he must do some really great things behind the scenes. Plus I've heard of him giving thousands of dollars to people. So I just stopped trying to figure him out. But your right he's done some things that are questionable.
Ari most definitely took some molly for this show. You can tell by his calm detached demeanor and his preoccupation with touching his own face. Both tells. This was the original way the drug was deployed in a therapeutic setting.
This honestly sounds exactly like every drunk/drugged up argument between friends at a bar, that I've ever seen. Working in a bar, the number of people who end up fighting over something when they're stupid drunk or effed up, this story is pretty much exactly how it goes down
Lost the plot halfway through this shit, can't seem to care about these freaks or understand their selfish ways. "Birds of a feather folk together" I suppose.
@@xtackett3728 because the way that comment makes the situation framed makes it seem he was being facetious and hostile, but in reality the argument was in a joking manner.
tough talk, plenty trained lean dudes out there my guy. Seen plenty bouncers and other sort getting wrecked by small dudes, at least 2 times smaller dude was trainer for ATF with buddies. And yeah I wouldnt be scared of such dudes, they werent big, they behaved too calm and went for the kill as soon as bouncers went physical and didnt respond to reason. Another thing is being emotionally unstable no matter the size people will go kitchen sink on you if they will break.
Thanks for covering this. These are all things ive seen in bits and pieces over the years, but having you put it all together in retrospect is appreciated. I think Bobby Lee is disgusting for "making a joke" about... well... Going to Tijuana and trying to get some undercooked fish taco... If ya know what I'm sayin, if you're picking up what I'm putting down, if you catch my drift, if you read between the lines, if you know what I'm implying.... And although I kinda like Ari.... Shane's rip into him on Ari's roast was gold! Not a quote but a paraphrase: "Isn't it cool thats Ari is so edgy? He's like 50 years old but he's edgy, isn't that fun?"
The only person in this entire story that deserved to get much worse than what they got is Natasha. Literal worst human being in this entire situation.
I'm just gonna be honest. Beating up a friend because they snaked you and help your girl cheat. 1000% justified. Bobby paid for that beating with his actions. People saying the attack was too far are out of pocket. "He should've blamed the girl" The girl didn't call him and deceive him. No, that was one of his best friends. It's a stab to the back from someone you trusted. Yall can use words in that scenario, id prefer letting my fist do the talking. There's no talking out of that.
Dov Davidoff... I haven't heard that name in a long long time... I watched his special years ago and at that time it was the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Possibly, but if your friend goes and helps your girl get fucked by another guy, go after the little bastard because you can definitely get your licks in.
It’s crazy how these people can talk to Bobby and he just allows it. These people with bad stories from your past that live to bring them up to laugh at you about it are not your friends and should stay in your past
Well these people are bottom feeders and they are addicted to getting as much attention as possible. They aren't going on stage to tell jokes because it's a "burning passion from the depths of their souls" ... they are doing that because they want everyone to pay attention to them and they believe that they are so interesting that they deserve your attention. If these people were at a party, they would be those obnoxious people who everybody hates who try and immediately take over the party and try to command and control the entire event, the type of people who will loudly tap the side of a glass to force the room to be silent so they can talk or they will "Shush" other people at the event in order for them to start talking. Bobby, Ari and all of these Joe Rogan Coat Tail Riders are getting off on talking about this personal stuff in the most public way possible.
“attacking him is a bit extreme.“ Dude I would have beaten him to a pulp and I know all my other friends would have done the same, I wouldn‘t expect any different from them…
