Ghostlore haha the hypocrisy is incredible man. Joey Diaz has dosed so so many people and a lot of them have had horrendous times yet people giggle and love joey for it. Ari does it once and he gets all this hate.
Ari fucked up. But it doesnt mean he shouldnt be forgiven. They're really close friends. As someone who has a group of friends who have a couple of us who fuck with lesser drugs and some who just smoke weed and drink and this is 100% something we would've done to eachother.
@@l3wdlemon708 i've done it, i've had it done to me. i highly regret it now (morally; was fucking awesome in reality), but shit happens when you're 14-18 man. you get older, you get more mature. usually. thats where with ari it's crazy, it wasn't to give him an awesome time, it was out of revenge, which is actually disgusting.
@@Reblwitoutacause This is from 4 years ago. They all did "sober October" to kind of help Bert chill on his drinking since he was drinking way too much. Ari being a sociopath got mad at him for not keeping to it too much and was upset at having to stop drinking. So to get back at Bert, he gave him MDMA to try and get him to quit because he took a drug. Bert didn't really stick to the sober October really well. 4 years later, today he's doing much better with drinking I believe. That's the basic story to my knowledge.
Meanwhile, since then Tom and Bert have sold out, whilst Ari is the only one in the Rogan sphere that I'd wanna go to the bar with but I'd have my hand over my drink the entire time of course.

@@Hobopower84 well Bert’s family is really sticking to the act because his entirely family hates Ari. This isn’t a bit lol. If it was they wouldn’t be laughing
Shaffir seems like he's uncomfortable not because he did it, but because his friends don't approve of his doing it. He might legitimately be a sociopath.
@@yorknorthyorkeastyorketobi741 But like you gotta understand the differences between the two and how someone with a heart condition on an edible isn't gonna die, worst case a mild panic attack while someone dosing on Molly can literally keel over because of the drug itself
He has also admitted to starting to choke women with no warning during sex, no pre-talk to check if she's into that stuff or anything about it, so he does seem to have some issues with other peoples boundaries, so genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he had dosed someone before. I mean, I am also into choking and being rough, but there does need to be some pre-talk about it, if you spring that shit on a girl spontaneously it could leave you with a sexual assault charge.
He Really Is a Grounded individual. AND He's Brilliant AND Smart in The "Common" way. Common Sense. He's the guy you'd Love to have a few Brews with and Chat up! His Wife and He are Great together. Like @TigerBelly! Love tha Life Partner Co-Host Set Ups!
Ari is such an addict. His mannerisms in the last 2-3 mins actually shocked me. Couldn’t wrap my head around the dosing justification and felt like there was a deeper line than him being a sociopath
Sociopaths for you. You'd think when he was there he would have thought geez his kids are here, should I rethink this ? Nope. Doesn't care about anyone except himself.
I love comedy but spiking a drink, smoked substances, etc is *not funny*. It can be highly dangerous. Aside from that, it's a form of coercion and abuse. Not funny. Even if it's one guy drugging another guy. Not funny at all.
@@sc220 The reason it is less funny than it could be....is that Burnt isn't mad as much as he is hurt and confused. And it caused trouble with the wife. And because he knows what we all know.....he is the runt of the group and gets picked on relentlessly, with Tom being his only real friend. "But other than that, the play was OK" -. Mrs. Lincoln
@@thomasblack2393 Why is it funny? He was home with his family, and he had a flight that same night, on top of all his recent medical issues. What's funny about that? Seriously. If it was in a movie or something, and happened to a fictional character, I could absolutely see the humor in that, because no real lives are in jeopardy. That's not what this is. This was a real guy, with a real family, with real medical issues, and he was given a very powerful drug against his will. Again, what's funny about that?

The way Ari talks about this is terrifying. Jesus, I'd walk out honestly. It isn't a joke dude, you spiked his drink. If Bert said "I'll try it" and Ari gave it to him and Bert didn't like it, then I can see where the jokes would come from. But spiking the dudes drink, in his house, in front of his kids, when he has to leave and go to a different state? What a psychopath
Not to mention this is the same time his doctor told him he needs to get healthy. And Molly is notoriously awful for your liver and dehydrated the fuck out of you. The two specific things that he was struggling with
@@markellhawthorne2921THIS. The main defense is oh “mollys not that bad he turned put fine” if you dose someone with ANY fucking drug even ibuprofen that shits deadass crossing a boundary and wrong. I dont care even if the experience was good. No good human would even think of drugging someone without consent makes you wonder what else hes okay with not getting consent for.
You dumbasses have never done molly 😂. Dude every single tome you do mdma it’s fucking awesome, extremely low chance to freak out because there is no headspace. Get familiar with drugs before you diagnose a dude over the internet. Ari knows what Molly’s about and how it works, chill tf out you ignorant fucks
This physically gave me anxiety to watch. And made me so mad. I have been in Bert's position. A former "friend" drugged me when we were on a birthday trip to Miami. I made it clear at the start of the night that I didn't want to do drugs, and later in the evening I discovered he had poured a full bag of molly into a soda water pitcher that I was drinking. I drank about 3/4 of that pitcher. I was very lucky that it was not very strong molly because it could have been very dangerous considering how much I drank. It was the scariest moment of my life when I found out what was in the pitcher. When I confronted him the next day, he did the same as Ari, laughed it off and acted like I was over-reacting and said I knew it was in there (please, as if I would knowingly take 3/4 of a bag of molly). It has given me anxiety for many years around it happening again. I have major trust issues and I have had to work really hard to confront those fears. He is clearly a narcisist or sociopath. I ended that "friendship" and never looked back. Bert should do the same.
That is horrible, so sorry that happened to you. So messed up. People who do this have to be sociopathic or just plain dumb. They have no idea what medications a person may be on. Mixed with the drugs it can be absolutely lethal. If no consent is given, that's a straight up crime.
Have you even heard if all the horrible shit Joey has said he's done, and still doesn't think is a big deal? He's a million times worse than Ari slipping a friend some M
its so true, if you are having a bad trip you really just fucking need somebody to keep you grounded and at the time its happening that person means everything to you
Which is weird because Joey has dosed people before, although it's different, the only times I know is giving his cohost Lee a higher percentage edible than he thought.
If ari really understood the severity of his act he would be more sorry. but he thinks it’s not a big deal. If I was bert, seeing how unsorry ari is, I would stop talking to him.
I have seizures now I’ll have to deal with for the rest of my life because I was spiked. It’s not a joke, you never know how someone will react to something at a certain time. Just because he took it before does not mean his body would be able to handle it again. Especially Molly. The way it depletes your serotonin is no joke. One of the most traumatic moments of my life was when I thought I was ODing on Molly. I didn’t feel the same for two years plus after, and trauma and anxiety changes your brain. The fact that he can sit there and admit no guilt, remorse, or understanding that drugging someone without their consent is an absolute NO-NO and inexcusable is scary. I’m all for dark humor and jokes but this isn’t even dark it’s just downright fucked up.

Drugging people is so fucked up. It’s also a felony that he’s just laughing off. This happened to a friend of mine another friend put shrooms on this hamburger at a bbq he tripped out so hard he had to be taken to the hospital. None of us talk to that guy anymore and he doesn’t get why
White knight Let's relax with the long ass 4 page articles. Holy shit, nobody's going to read that. I read half and realized how fuckin long is this useless comment?! But yea weed isn't a bad drug and Ari Shaffir should burn in hell
Getting dosed with anything you're not expecting isn't cool, weed is no exception. Especially when we're talking about people who don't smoke. You don't think they'd have anxiety?
@White knight i read the first part of that where yiu said its like giving them root beer and telling them its not which is a shit example because root beer isnt mind altering. When you have edibles its actually like a drug so thats also wrong. Albeit not as bad as giving someone molly but just because it cant kill you doesn't make it right
Damn everyone in the comments like “Tom is such a good friend”. Are we gonna ignore the honorable actions of the 🐐 Joey diaz. That’s a REAL friend 100%
You’re right. When Joey dosed Berts dad and everyone laughed he really laid the ground work for Ari to take it to the next level, people forget that man
A tinder date I really liked told me about this episode and how it was such an uncomfortable, sad watch, and she was right. Even that halfway point where, bless his heart, Bert's trying to emotionally bargain Ari with reason, "you felt bad. You had to have had remorse, because you've gotta be a friend and a good person, right?" And it's just the things not being said, with their eyes. And how Ari just defiantly brushed it off - not a fuck given.
Ari is so twisted man.... I sadly got into harder drugs by 18 and never once thought of spiking anyone ever, even if it was a friend who did drugs. That idea is so foreign to me. And Ari is a full grown man justifying it like there could be a world where drugging someone is ok. What a sick and twisted man, hope he lost all his friends for that
Ari is the type of person you see in an old folks home on the border of insanity, yet not diagnosed to be in the locked area. When you see the trembling lanky old man pissing in the corner of his room and wonder, "how does humanity get to this point", definitely remember ppl with habits like Ari.
It's absolutely insane to me that this guy was on the biggest podcast in the world defending drugging people without their knowledge and he still has a successful career.
@Gregory DeAngelis Man, understanding makes it so much worse though. I've done way too much Molly, in my raving youth, and I am very familiar with what the drug does and how it feels. If someone dosed me, I'm never violent, but i'd want to kill them. Even if I had fuck all to do for the next 10 hours, just having to be subjected to that ridiculous high when you don't want it and weren't planning on it. Some drugs it might be like "you asshole, but okay at least I'll try to enjoy it", but MDMA... fuuuuck that. The only place it makes any kind of sense to be on that drug is at an all night party with loud music where everybody is thrashed on drugs together. Lots of people to talk to, a good reason to move around pointlessly, and nobody's going to remember or take seriously any of the shit you ramble out of your mouth. Anywhere the fuck else, especially if you had anything else normal to do, it's just awful. "oh hello stranger you're my best friend now ever let me tell you all my secrets and call up my exes and my grandma and ohmygod did you see that cute girl I think i'm in love let's go talk to her and aren't kittens the best and yada yada yada" Can cause insane embarrassment after the fact. You do and say things that are totally out of character. And yeah in a dark hazy bass-y rave with shameless dance floors and surrounded by drunk and high cute women who are also looking to just be stupid with you - yeah it's a great time. That is a place where it is acceptable to walk up to a woman you don't know and gush on about how beautiful she is - and she can easily slip away if she's not into it, she'll recognize that you're just rolling, but more often than not she is into it cause she's at a rave and that's what happens there. And it doesn't matter how fuzzy and lovey dovey you get because that's the thing to do and everybody gets it and most people want it and enjoy it. And i loved it too. In most other circumstances the kind of behavior MDMA evokes in someone is not appropriate at all and can easily be creepy or alarming to folks who don't know you or what you're on. The drug makes it harder for you to pick up on if someone is uncomfortable talking to you, but you can't help but open up with people. And honestly I've heard of people getting dosed with MDMA before, or even people taking it in stupid situations - and it's like "no biggie everybody has fun and feels good on MDMA" ... That is exactly the problem man. That's why its so fucked up. Don't drug people. It's wrong. But if you are going to do it, definitely don't drug people with MDMA. It's not fun, it lasts way too long, if you have done the drug a lot in the past you're probably over it and even sick of it (MDMA is one of few drugs that many people get sick of and never want to do again after having done it a bunch of times) and 9 times out of 10 the victim will be so much worse off because of it. Everyone is out here treating weed, molly and mushroom highs like they're no big thing but all three of those drugs have much more overwhelming highs than lots of the "harder" stuff that people aren't as flippant about. It's unfounded in my opinion. Heroin, low doses of PCP, ketamine, coke, crack - all these drugs fuck up your day (or even couple of days) a hell of a lot less than MDMA. MDMA really isn't that far off from meth when it comes to how big and intense of a high it is.
It's odd Tom gets mad and surprised like this is the first time he heard about it, while also acknowledging Burt called him shortly after and told him about it. I'm calling Bullshit on this whole story. As in, Bullshit in it just coming up.

People in the entertainment business look at drugs and alcohol as performance-enhancing drugs. No shit. They only see it as a problem when it hurts your career. Period. I don't agree with that, because there are people around you who might be suffering from your bullshit, but that's how most of them really think.
Yeah the dude who is 60 pounds overweight with a drinking and Xanax addiction has less of a problem than the guy who smokes weed and does semi-hard drugs like coke/Molly and psychedelics occasionally. (I’m prescribed Xanax so I’m not shitting on that, but drinking with it is horrible)
I used to take XTC a LOT at university but if a friend slipped me molly in a drink now that I am 52, I would freak. I am overweight, have heart issues and do not exercise much, so would probably have panic attacks, too. I would wait until the next time I saw the friend, then punch them real hard (in the face) and tell them never to do it again, and that I will never mention it again, if he does the same. This is so that we could continue being friends. People do make mistakes. Ari did wrong, we know that. He made a mistake - albeit a big one. The fact that he has no remorse at all is very sad and also very telling. What if Bert HAD had a heart attack or other health crisis - which was totally possible. Would Ari think it was so fucking funny, then? Also, his reason to do it is unbelievable selfish, and also a non-reason. If you don't want to do Sober October - don't do it. Don't drug your friend and then blame him for your actions. I think no-one would care if you missed Sober October - but no-one is in your corner on this one, Ari. If he was a more famous comic, it could easily have been a career-ending move. He is lucky he went under the radar.
I think that was a coping mechanism. Using humor to cover the fact that he's uncomfortable knowing that he's wrong. Didn't have the nads to apologize. I'm only 25 and I've done molly quite a few times im the past and I'd flip out if someone spiked me. I want to only ever do drugs on my own accord. OD'd it once and nearly sweat to death and shut down. Was shutting down and hallucinating.. Wouldn't want anyone to put me through that with some stupid shit like this from Ari.
