When it comes to training, there will always be obstacles in your way. Instead of focusing on what you cannot do, focus on what you can do. Instead of letting "perfection" stop you from "doable", reconsider how little things add up over time to create big change. THIS is one of the primary messages of this channel. Your training does NOT need to do perfect. Just do ANYTHING, do it well (to the best of your ability and with 100% intention), do it consistently, and you will absolutely shock yourself with what you can accomplish.

Your training methodology has helped me stay consistent for over a year. I don’t even consider training a chore anymore. It’s like brushing my teeth. If I do not have any time for some reason, like you said, just a single , hard set of push ups can keep me going. Thank you Mr Boges !

@@fact.fusion-t7t I have a background in lifting but lost my fitness after a shoulder injury, gained weight and lost muscle. Found K Boges style of training over a year ago. Progress was slow but I could barely do 5 push ups and only rows due to the injury. Over time I lost 20 lbs. from eating better and have regained muscle in my chest and my back appears wider and thicker thanks to frequent chin ups and rows. Co-workers think I’ve been lifting but it’s mostly basic calisthenics. I do lift weights occasionally, usually on the weekends, but for the most part just daily calisthenics. It’s a patient approach to training where consistency and intention pays off.
@michaeltallsman2740
@michaeltallsman2740 Месяц назад
@@stayinspired1271 he goes into a lot of Detail in his earlier videos. He can explain better than I can but it’s a high frequency approach of training where you distribute the training volume of hard sets throughout a week. He recommends 10-20 hard sets for each movement pattern for a week. A hard set consists of taking for example push ups to near failure. So you could for example train every day doing two hard sets of push ups, two hard sets of pull ups, two hard sets of legs each day of the week for 14 hard sets for each movement type. You can vary the movements to avoid overuse issues and keep the sets further from Failure if you feel you need the rest. I recommend binge watching his channel. It’s a gold mine.

Hi. I am 40, 5'8" and have cerebral palsy. I have always failed when trying to make exercise a habit in my life. I decided i need to start with just one exercise that I enjoy and start slow. 12 days ago I started doing push ups. I could only do 4 the first day. On the 4th one I felt like I was going to die. I have increased my number slowly by 1, 2 or 3 each day. Yesterday I noticed I can do 10 now in a row, without trouble. Today I did 10, 6, 3, 5 for a total of 24. Im really enjoying it so far!

The idea of physiological hygiene completely changed my perspective on training. Moving every day, even with an office job or studies is easier than we think. I'd rather hit my daily PPL for 15 min and be fresh the next day than destroy myself with a ton of volume 3-4 days a week only to sit on my ass the rest of the time. I'm recovering from a flu and did today close grip pull ups, dips and hindu squats. Blessed to have found this channel and this community!

So, is doing 30 pull-ups daily better than doing 60 for two days but this 60 will put muscles under greater pressure than the 30-daily one? I'm struggling with this programming side cuz of much work to do compared to the time I have
@iker8010
@iker8010 Месяц назад
@@Ahmad-jh6jk you're talking about a method called greasing the groove where you do an exercise daily but with a submaximal effort. One of K Boges methods (the one I use) consists in doing a push, a pull and a leg movement for 2-3 hard sets, or in other words, leaving 1-2 reps in the tank. You can do so by picking a daily rep target/goal. Say I start out with 30 reps of pull ups daily, what I would do is try to hit that number in the least amount of sets possible, taking each set close to failure. It could look like this: Set 1- 10 reps Set 2- 8 reps Set 3- 7 reps That'd give 25 reps done across 3 pretty hard sets. K Boges says that you can do additional "remainder sets" to top off your target goal. So in this case i'd do an easy set of 5 reps to complete the 30 reps. You use this same method for the push and the legs. It is also important to cycle in easier or harder variations. So during a "hard day" you may do wide grip pull ups and during an "easier day" you may do chin ups. K Boges recommends picking 3-4 variations weekly, but don't over do it either. There's an even simpler method in which, instead of doing 3 exercises daily you do one. So say on Monday you choose to do a pull movement, in that case you'd choose a pull up variation and do that for 5 hard sets, again, leaving 1-2 reps in the tank. The next day you'd do the same with a push and the next with a leg movement, repeating the cycle throughout the week. This ofc is even simpler and takes like 10 min to complete. Hope it helped bro

the all or nothing, paranoid, paralysis by analysis mentality stopped me from working out for years... finally got over it 4 years ago and have been training with decent consistency since then... gained visible muscle mass and am in the best shape of my life because of that. my training isn't perfect or particularly impressive, or even demanding! but it's fun, engaging, consistent... and sustainable in my mind. thanks to that i'm stronger and fitter than i've ever been and with a notably way more aesthetic body! the problem all along was me getting in the way of myself and i just didn't quite believe it. subconsciously i just didn't think i could pull it off. that there was so inherent problem inside of me. i decided to let go, just do the motions. then everything changed and snow balled from there.
@Kboges
@Kboges Месяц назад
There is so much in this comment that is important. That lat part about belief is key. The story we tell ourselves about what we can achieve is incredibly powerful. It stops us from doing what we need to do to actually make the progress we want to make. Amazing comment!

Needed to hear this. I've been consistent for the last 7 months. Thats the longest it's been for me. But i'm muslim and we had Ramadan a month ago. In that time I dropped the amount of activity down because I wanted to focus on other things. By the end of that month, I was straight into a 2 week holiday in Japan. Thats more than a month of breaking my routine. Now that i'm back home, it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't found the motivation to restart. I'm having some non inhibiting surgery in a few weeks and in my mind I keep thinking it's probably better to restart after that. But that's probably not right. The best time to get back into it is now.
@Kboges
@Kboges Месяц назад
Start today! Even if it's a single set of push ups, that is WAY better that nothing. It will keep your habit going, and the behavioral impact of keeping a routine up cannot be overstated. When things get tough, there is no problem with dialing things back to keep it going, but always try to keep it going.

It’s not perfect and I know it runs some people the wrong way, but I’m just working within my limitations.

Man... I appreciate that more than you know. Thank you for that kind feedback. I love this stuff so much, and I think it's more powerful and life changing than people realize; it has been for me. When I hear it positively impacting people, it's incredibly meaningful. Thank you.

Thankyou so much... your 'wake-up' calls really hit home, especially when combined with seeing you perform various excercises during the videos!... a perfect combination to really get people (me!) driven to just 'do'. Love your vids🥵👌👍

Your words resonate with the path I tried to hardly draw. You have a similar impact in my life that authors who are capable to put perfects words on blured feelings that we can have. Thank you for delivering your simple and very powerful message. You help me to be consistent and never give up even in a plateau state !

Very true. I'm constantly reminding myself of this stuff. It's like the biggest struggles with training for most people are psychological; not seeing a way past the barriers. Thanks, Anima!

I do 5 sets of deficit pushups supersetted with regular. Takes maybe 20mins. next day 5 sets of pullups takes maybe 15 mins next day 5 sets of deep squats 15 mins then take a day off and repeat. Never been bigger. Although I do want to get quite a bit bigger, especially in my legs. I think may have to incorporate weights or something.

Consistency is something i have been struggling with my whole life. Every where. Including work out. What you say in this video is some wise stuff. Thank you for that.
