Naw Man LSU was still brand new to the offense and raw and there defense was not fully developed. Texas still had some confidence at the time and no injurys. i see texas fans make this excuse all the time i guarantee you if LSU plays Texas ten games later Texas doesnt even sniff the 50 yard line.
Texas tried everything non-football related in the hopes of keeping the game close: 1) Disabling the A/C units in LSU's locker room, 2) Spreading the rumor that K'Lavon Chaisson's mom had a medical emergency before the game (Texas and LSU were locked in a nasty recruiting battle for him in high school), 3) Making LSU walk 3 blocks to the stadium and lining Texas fans up 3 feet from the players to try and intimidate them, 4) seated LSU fans in the nosebleed section, which SEC schools wouldn't even do, and made available only half the tickets that were offered to Louisiana Tech just the week prior.
@@mhatxgc8651 Texas is trashhhhhhh has been since they fired Mack brown.(after going 9-4) lmao the dude they hired as the new HC has a personal best season record of 9-4. Lmao they get out recruited by ou and a&m. They are dog water
I was at this game and it was the best game that I have ever seen in person or live. I truly believe that either team wouldve won the title had they won this game. Obviously it was LSU. What a game
As an LSU fan myself before the season I said this game and Bama were the only 2 games I was worried about. But I was wayyyyyy more shocked at the Bama game. To be fair hanging 50 on both of these teams should be a testament to the dominance that season. Geaux Tigahs
As another LSU fan I was so nervous about this game when the season just started. But when LSU made that LEGENDARY 3rd & 17 play, I KNEW LSU would have a chance. GEAUX TIGERS 🐯
That LSU 3rd & 17 with two minutes left in the game was remarkable. Most coaches get conservative and run a draw or a screen bc they’re on the road and up by 6. Coach O and the staff stayed aggressive and they deserve a lot of credit.
I called that play exactly how it happen before it ever happen that one and two other plays swear on my dead grandmother & i have a witness..Steping in the pocket hitting a receiver down the middle was the only plate to call on 3rd and 17
Like 2015 Natty Ohio State vs Alabama and Paul Finebaum says "important play, 3rd Down and gotta make 8 yards for another 1st down"... OSU's Cardale Jones thinks 'how about I just make a 55 yard pass into the End Zone for a TD' !!!
i was losing interest in college football but i just happened to watch this game start to finish. i was glued to following LSU for the rest of this season after watching this
Fr, also if Baby Sam could connect with Ingram on a 2 yard pass things could’ve been different too. Ingram still should’ve caught the ball, but cmon Sam
The smile on Herman's face when he talks to Joe after the game is so pure. Imagine recruiting Burrow two schools back, only to face him in a different conference on different teams than they both started, and at the beginning of one of the best college seasons by a team ever. Helluva game.
I will never see a college football season as good as this one. It was utterly flawless. No wonder 2 years into the pros Joe was already in the Superbowl.
@@randylahey345 he's probably 22 years old dude. Not like he has a wife and kid yet. Pretty normal for kids college days to be the best time of their life
@@kennethwagster3788 Just blatantly lying and trying farm likes I see. Even the most delusional members of our fan base said that we would win by two scores at most.
That was the game where I was introduced to Joe Burrow. I didn’t know who he was before this. My dad’s side of the family are Longhorns fans BTW. After seeing Burrow torch that team, I knew he was gonna be something special and probably end up in the pros, which would eventually become a reality months after winning the national title.
We had the game winning TD but Ingram dropped the wide open pass about 3 yards out. It wouldn’t have mattered if we won though, LSU would have just “had to figure out who they were” and our win wouldn’t count to anyone but Texas fans. That’s just how it goes around here🤷🏻♂️
@@zachmccormick3345 funny how you think you live rent free or whatever but the only reason Texas was talked about to start in this post was how they lost…. Lol If the post was about another team that team would be talked about, but the entire nation does hate you for destroying 2 power conferences
Texas would’ve finished 12-2 in 2019 if we hadn’t missed Sterns, Johnson, and most the oline for half the season. That Texas team was great. The other Texas teams in the last 10 years? Not so much.
In 2-3 more years, come back to this game and see how much NFL talent was on this field. I’m a Horns fan, this particular season had a mediocre finish due to a slew of injuries. But, this game was when Texas was at it strongest, and after that loss I fully believed LSU would win the title. Epic Game!
My dad was the world's biggest LSU fan. It had been decades since he went to a game, but we braved the 100° heat to watch one of the best games of the year.
It was his only good year the fuck you talking about I live in new orleans don't you dare tell me he had more than one good year he was barely better than bo nix shit that kid from ole miss was cooking a good bama defense while burrow worked on a draft depleted defense
@@victormontoya117 If Sark wins 10 games just once in his soon to be short tenure at Texas, I'll be surprised. He's a great assistant that had incredible talent at USC & Alabama. I just don't see him doing well. (Watch this well age real bad in the year 2025)
I remember watching this one I instantly knew it was our year. When we stopped them in the red zone over and over it was proof our defense was just as much there as our offense. We were stacked af and it was GLORIOUS!! GEAUX TIGERS!!! #STTDB
Trust me. Not one single LSU fan thought this game was ever put away. Most LSU fans at the game were nervous at different moments in the game. Everyone needs to stop discrediting Texas. Texas had mistakes, LSU had mistakes but LSU capitalized on their chances. Texas failed on theirs. Amazing game though.
Look at the names on this LSU team and on top of that an NFL OC in the booth too. Best team I’ve ever seen, perfect mix of talent and coaching and chemistry. Will never see anything like it again
2019 LSU was absolutely stacked with talent. Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Thaddeus Moss, Clyde Edwards -Helaire, and that O-line. I mean holy shit.
Yep, that was it. You figured it out! That's why they won ANOTHER National Title....Cramps. But don't worry! Texas is BACK!🙄(And they really mean it, THIS time.)😂😂😂
Clyde Edwards-Helaire was sooooo undertalked about on that LSU squad. Obviously they were loaded w Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Thad Moss, and Marshall, but CEH did everything so well for that team. He’d pass block, run inside, run outside, catch check downs, and just straight up beat linebackers on routes. That kid was something else
All I remember was UT beating the mess out of Georgia in a bowl game and went into the offseason talking so much shit about how they can destroy the SEC and LSU was next
Burrow is tom brady peyton manning and aaron rogers. But since he plays for the bungles.. he will never reach that potential. He will end up being Mark Sanchez
One of the few games I've been to in person and boy was it exciting. The stadium was absolutely packed and the crowds were electric. That one game made the Texas student pass absolutely worth it.
The greatest team of all time. Didn’t have the best defense of all time but it was just enough to win games with the greatest offense of all time!!! I’m putting this team against every college team EVER!!
Sucks to say but i dont think we'll ever get this lsu team back, only reason people deny this team of being the best college football team of all time is BECAUSE it's lsu
@@braden2289 Lsu beat 7 top ten teams. And also beat the 1st 2nd and 3rd ranked teams at the start of the season. Sorry you can't even try to make a claim
@@whodatking26 Beating high ranked teams at the start of the season means absolutely nothing. Texas was ranked #9 at the time they played yet was actually ranked #25 when the rankings actually meant something. Also 2005 USC and Texas are 10x better teams which you know nothing about because you’re a 15 year old kid.
@@braden2289 I know those two championship teams where loaded trust me they had back up running backs that got drafted to the Titans. Reggie bush went to my saints and helped us win a Superbowl and that team (USC) didn't even win they lost to the horns who also had an absolutely loaded squad. I just think LSU had more and better talent across the board QB WR RB and it shows since we have burrow and chase going to the Superbowl and Clyde Edwards with the chiefs making there runs as well. And everyone knows Justin Jefferson is the Vikings number 1 and he was our number 2. Don't think you have to tell me anything brodie.
@@braden2289You realize burrow and chase went to the SUPERBOWL because of the level of greatness they have? They took the Cincinnati Bengals to the fucking Superbowl. Let that shit actually sink in.
