Being offered 10 million dollars via email. Crazy right? Would you have replied to the email? Are we naive to think it could have been real? We'll never truely know what went on there.
We're out on the island of Faial. We're going freediving, making sure we're following the local rules and regulations, and we're joined by the most amazing sea creature which we hear is teeming in the Azores this time of year. We're checking out new volcanic landmass and having a good old time in Horta. Also any diver/science/shark people out there who can tell us whether you can stare down a shark? Link us your scientific papers, crackpot theories or pictures of you personally confirming it in practice. Thanks in advance team.

I love watching you two and Lenny. I'm 74 and my hubby is in nursing home with dementia, so it gets pretty lonely by myself. Watching you brings such sense of freedom and no stress. The nursing home is in lock down so am I basically.So I love the happiness you two share with each other, we shared lots of love. I'm not telling my story for you to feel sorry for me but to let you know the joy you bring to me. Lots of good wishes for Christmas and the new year ahead.😍

Not a "shark expert" but I studied evolutionary biology, false eyespots are common in the animal kingdom to reduce predation. It is very common in reef fish to ward off sharks, so you are not wrong!

I dive with sharks for a living!! Yes you should always keep your head on a swivel, and eye contact is very important! As for The eyes on a the back of the mask.. hmmmm, it reminds me of butterfly wings that have those “eye balls” on them! I dont think it will work though 😂😁😁

I'm an amateur diver and I've not heard this before, I didn't think sharks relied on their vision enough for this to be a thing. But as an aside, in India and other tiger country, workers often wear masks on the back of their heads as tigers (and other cats like American pumas) absolutely do stalk prey from behind.

I was raised in the Florida Keys. The waters off Big Pine Key is Bull Shark central. Craziest damn sharks in the world. They could care less where you draw those eyes. I'm 58 years old and have been a freedive/spearfish pro diving that area and can honestly say "They don't give a crap what you do!" If they want you.... your there's. The great thing is... ... Bull sharks don't like confronting humans. I guess we taste terrible to them LOL. Thank the Lord. Bahia Honda is proof of that. Both oceanside and Gulf side beaches are surrounded by Bull sharks yet there has never been an attack on Tourists there. A few buddies and I were fishing between the two famous bridges at Bahia Honda Key and accidentally started a small shark frenzy. Maybe 20-30 5 ft. Bull sharks. All the while, there were Tourist and their kids up and down Gulf side Bahia Honda Beach oblivious to shark activity just 200 feet away. Drawing eye's have zero affect on whether or not a shark will attack.

When I was a teenager my mother was downstairs in the laundry ironing. My room was directly above the laundry. I went to the kitchen upstairs and bought a banana back to my bed. I peeled the banana and pushed open the casement window to ditch the banana skin. From downstairs ironing my mother yelled "Murray don't you throw that banana skin out the window" That was over 60 years ago and I still don't know how she knew I even had a banana. My father was a strict diisciplinarian. He slept with one eye open. He took long naps in the living room which we had to go through to get anywhere. Yes he had a glass eye, but somehow were more afraid of him when he was asleep than when he was awake.

There are prey animals who have evolved "eye" markings on the their backs (some are pretty convincing). A quick internet search showed mostly insects and some fish. I've heard of hunters using the same trick to with discourage owls and cougars from rear attacks. I'm with Elayna on this one. It seems reasonable and for the price of some sharpie ink why not.

Dr. Erich Ritter shark Expert. (Recently deceased☹️) Specifically studied shark and human behavior. Check out his research for sure. His pod cast “Lets talk shark” is super great (only ten min episodes) one of the studies he did, showed that sharks have an “inner and outer circle” and that they would not enter the “inner circle” when facing them. That’s why he says “face, guide, push and move.” Remember “it’s a Privileged to be among them” Erich Ritter. Happy diving! Love the sharks 🦈

Just want to say you two are amazing. I haven't watched the video yet, and I know you get a lot of love letters, fan mail that says golly-gee-whiz and similar gushing stuff, but I just wanted to use this space to say something profound, deep, spiritual and connecting that really gets to the heart of what the SLV phenomenon is all about, and what you provide in an amazing video product.
