There’s one man you can count on to call out when characters are stupid for the sake of the plot… His name is Vexed! Put some respect on his name! Don’t be stupid for the sake of the plot lol
Me: "we have 30 years to prep for a war then right?" Future people: "No you are going to the future to fight in the war for us since it makes the most sense" Me "we are dead"
Future soldier: "Why can't we send a small research team back in time to save the future?" Future General: "Shut the f**k up and grab as many recruits from the past we need! We need to nuke them nuke them nuke them!"
Time Travel is such a complicated element to use in story telling because if you don't iron out all possible times lines it can lead to a lot of plot holes un answered questions and stupidity thanks for the video Vex I only saw this in a trailer was never planning on watching it so i'm glad you made this dude 😁👍
I'm actually pretty sure it's literally impossible to have a time travel story without plot holes since we humans are so far incapable of fully grasping the concept itself. Because of that, I generally just accept that any story with it is gonna be nonsense and I should just have fun with it.
@@JinSeiryuu one of the things I wonder about time travel is, if you build it to change one specific moment than it stands to reason that said time machine would not be build cause you changed the event that led to its creation. However with the multiverse theory, your timeline stays the same cause you be traveling to a different point in time in another universe that is a deviation from your own, so your existence and your timelines existence is unchanged, and you more or less deviated this new universe down a different path
The movie is actually great in term of visualization, however there are 2 things I find very annoying: 1. When they were dropped from height and many of them died, they seemed mentally ok as if it's not a big deal. At least give 5 minutes to address that situation and how they came to term to accept the tragedy. 2. A KID knew more about volcanoes? Seriously? Eventhough it's been established from the beginning, I still find it impossible to happen. Come on!!!
Even if we assume there is only one timeline it still doesn't make any sense wasting manpower/resources to fight in the future rather than using those 20+ years to prepare instead.
@@LTDragoonIII yeah except those people being sent to the future could sire children that exist in the future, which then wouldn’t exist if the people from the past die before siring them.
@@davetycho8330 pretty sure you can see if someone has kids or not in the future. They have a death date for Pete's sake. Cant be that hard to see if they have kids.
Doesn't matter. Firstly it's not even their future, they're recruiting from a branching time line that split off when they travelled back to recruit people. Secondly in the future only 500,000 humans are left, so that means the majority of people could travel there.
@@clintthrustmaster actually it does matter. Who said it was a branching timeline? No one anywhere said that. And no the majority could not just travel there again the reason for why they pick those who die here is so it wont really effect the future. These are people who dont have anymore kids and die unrelated to the attack of the white spikes. Which means they dont have to worry about breaking the timeline, anymore they they already are.
Logic: we know what's coming, let's prepare now, and kick ass when it happens Tomorrow War: naw, let's just send poorly equipped soldiers to the future. It will be fine. Seriously this was the dumbest thing I've seen.
I saw your video in my feed and was like "Good god they went and did it! They made RWBY live action how did we let this happen and how the fuck did they get Chris Pratt!" Glad I was wrong
I like the movie but there is some parts that made me scratch my head and made me go "wait what the hell?" So yeah Aliens vs Predators mixed in with time travel
Time travel stories that are done wrong always have people complaining about about the same thing which usually boils down to: 1: this problem is invalid because of time travel 2: Your time travel rules are poorly defined and the ones that you bother to define contradict each other. I’m not sure why the lesson for what not to do in these types stores have not been learned; but at this point “stupid for the sake of the plot” no longer just applies to the characters but the author themselves.
I find it frankly weird and scary these "future people" have zero fucks about potentially throwing their parents and grandparents into certain death in a future war that is already pretty much lost. :/ Like, talk about creepy-evil...
Please send this video to the amazon executives who green lit this movie. They won't care to change their rubber stamps but maybe they might get embarrassed.
Really, the name of the movie alone bugs me, why not "The War Tomorrow" or "Tomorrow, The War"? The Tomorrow War just doesn't roll off the tongue in my opinion.
Semding people from the past to die in the future drastically pushes humans to extinction in both timeliness. Its like running out of gas in the future then going back in time to take half the gas out your car to use it in the future. So now you have your past and future car both having half a tank of gas. So you future car get a bit more mileage but your past car has less mileage and will never reach its own future.
Wait hold on. Most of humanity is dead and it requires over 40s because they are already dead. As if there aren't young people who are also dead in this post apocalypse.
When i see them attach the ship I all ways think one of the with spike manage to get out unnoticed and would led to a similar time line then line B except earlier.
I thought the movie tried to be like Chrono Trigger, where the future is set but you can change it if you can time travel, therefore they can use the stuff from the future to influence the past/present.
Honestly, the family element wasn't needed. Chris Pratt shows no signs early on that he is dissatisfied with his family. He was only angry because he lost his chance at getting another job. As far as time travel movies go. This one seems to try to make the most sense of time paradoxes. The only major flaw is that you will never get the serum without going back, but aside from that I guess the other events are possible (in the most fictional sense of the word lol)...
I think my favorite part of the movie was when they first jumped to the future up until they got rescued. IDK why I found it entertaining to watch normal people have to pretend to be soldiers and fight off alien assault
I wasn’t even bothered by any of this, I was more tuned out when I realized they were using 5.56 out of an SBR rather than .308 or 6.5 creedmoor on armored targets. Once you know enough to realize how dumb the small arms of the entire movie are, the rest is background noise. It was a nice bit of mindless fun regardless.
I like pratt but the plot holes in this movie were horrendous. I appreciated the effort but this story was told a thousand times better (minus the 50 plot holes) in aliens and the thing which obviously inspired this movie.
Personally i believe the movie should have ended right when Dan came back to the past, you have the hope for victory because you got the toxin, and leave the ending open or Dan going to Russia accidentally is what causes the end of the world in the future giving us a time loop.
I get popcorn fun and turn your brain down don't think too much about it, but these are some serious flaws in story creation and character motivations from a govt level down to the individual within the movie. I can't go with dude just enjoy it as a summer popcorn flick, or a Chris Pratt vehicle. He should get in better cars. This one is set to implode. Heck there's a movie in there where you know you're fighting intelligently for an alternate timeline so needless sacrifices are not the thing to do (they might happen) but they aren't the thing set out to do. If future people can't fight off the aliens, then past people are just more meat in a stupid grinder. Go back to the past and prep instead.... So little defense for this movie . . to not just be a Made for Syfy movie instead.
@@trulybarr3988 You are right, I really hated it when people use Nitpicking for an issue that the movie has that is extremely large, like the core concept or the plot.
So….let me see if I get this right. In our world where people are constantly digging in dirt, sand, ice, even underwater, for Fossils, artifacts, DNA, etc, have NEVER bumped into these aliens or got a hint of them not even once…while they are sleep??? *sighs* I guess it’s no better than the zombie movies where highly trained soldiers from all over the world lost to zombie hordes in a week or less but random non trained, never held a gun, or been camping type people survive and in most cases win.
I mean, it's not entirely impossible. Humans have not, and could not explore every inch of the Earth. It is the reason why hundreds of underground Egyptian tombs/pyramids go unfound, new underground caves are constantly discovered, many fossils are left unfound, entire pieces of ancient civilizations are missing, and many species of the ocean are left unknown. We've actually explored alot less than many would think.
@@anonymouslyforgotten5592 And it might be best we don't dig too much into it. As much as we all want to know what's in the unknown, if there's anything these sci-fi films have taught us, we should be careful of what is lurking underneath us, or what's waiting to be unleashed.
@@eslm-studios2996 You could also learn that lesson from old maps that said "Thar be dragons here! Beware!" If only we'd have listened, we wouldn't have died to all those dragons!
The aliens were never free and out and about. They were stuck in a spaceship in hibernation until they eventually got free, and boom. Apocalypse alien invasion
@@LTDragoonIII yeah Amazon wants to make this a trilogy, the sequel will be in mid 2023 www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/tomorrow-war-2-amazon-chris-pratt-1234979437/
First time hearing about this movie but it makes me wonder... if they can only bring people to the future that are already dead, and only young people who have not been born yet can go back in time.... why go back only 30 years? why not 50 or something? your more likely to fill both of those criteria if you go back a little further. Did they say anything about that?
(The-(TOMORROW-WAR)-Best Comedy Movie Ever Made Saving-(Earth🌏#2.)-The Government Is Like Sure No😁Problem Let’s Spend Hundreds Of Billions Of Dollars And Kill Billions Of Human Lives In Order To Win This WAR No Cost Was Too Great👍But Saving-(Earth🌎#1.)-The Government Is Like NO😡WAY Cannot Find The Money,-The Man Power Or The Resources In Order To Win This WAR The Cost Is Just Simply Too Great😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂).
@@VexedViewer So how did humanity from the future lost the war? We have missiles, tanks, jets and worst case scenario nukes. I think Russia alone wouldn't have much of a problem when dealing with them.
@@moilevin7088 Yeah in the movie the reason humanity lost was because they were taken by the suprise and the whitespike's only attacked after the had bred like rabbit's. The whitespike's still should have lost even with that but plot I guess. Though whitespike's themselve's are a pain to deal with, nothing short of a humvee mounted 50. cal will kill one effectively and they have the strength to flip said humvee's by running into them. Plus they have great mobility, capable of keeping up with car's and able to scale vertical surface's. The spike's they shoot are capable of quite easily pierceing modern body armor and penatrating pretty deep into concrete. they as said before also have an absurd reproduction rate. going from what look's like only a few hundred on the ship to being able to sweep across the globe and basiclly infested the planet beyond repair in only a few years of war with future humanity. Again even with all this as you said nuclear capabilitie's and aerial superiority should have done them in, though tank's and thing's of that nature would probably be less effective due to the whitespike's mobility.
@@tristangroth4644 The whole world might not need to get involve, Russia alone can wipe them out, with hardly any effort since they burst out and started attacking. I give the whitespikes a week at most. A day if Russsia decide to drop a nuke.
It was a decent popcorn film but the Plot is so is terrible.. they've forced the draft of these people and then have them killed when they screwed up on the coordinates... they don't bother to train them and do not tell them what they're up against. Nothing makes sense My second question how Well would RWBY be Written if Togashi wrote it.. ignoring the hiatus jokes.. He written Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho.
If the last female white spike escapes and then lays eggs in nowhere of Russia, and horde of these monsters appear in 2046, it will be time loop. It makes more sense, but the rest of the movie still would be garbage
It's rare that I get mad about a movie, especially a stand alone one I don't care about, but this, this right here had me screaming at the screen about how dumb everything was.
Honestly, the plot holes and the terrible decision making in the movie was so obvious. But, like sharknado, it was seriously enjoyable to watch. I give it an 8 out of 10. Also them figuring out where the aliens are when others didn't reminds of the last awful predator film. You are honestly going to have me believe a kid in his suburban home figured out the predator language just because he's autistic. When scientists, with government funding and at least 2 decades of predator material, couldn't even crack it. Not saying the kid couldn't do it, just saying the scientists would have figured it out before that kid was born.
The movie for me was just dumb action movie fun for me. I know it’s got plenty of flaws but in the end it was just a good movie to shut my brain off to and enjoy.
This movie would have been great if it was a comedy action film where Chris Pratt's character is the only one questioning everyone decisions but is forced to comply.
I finally got around to watching it and All Quiet on the Western Front as a two movie night. The comic relief and sheer stupidity of it was actually a good antidote to the soul crushing reality of war, reviving my PTSD, after watching All Quiet.
One of my least favorite things: Emotional moment --> tight close up of the face of character #1, filled with emotion: Cut to character #2 filled with emotion: cut to #1: cut to #2: repeat over and over. I think Yvonne Strahovski is a very good actress, but after the third cut I stopped caring about her feelings. I think this kind of serious moment is perhaps outside Chris Pratt's wheelhouse. So many of these made-by-cable movies have big budgets, good actors and yet wind up being poorly made. Why?
First off the reason why they can’t blow up the ship is Bc the mother alien would still live yes they don’t know if the toxins work but they tested more time then the movie showed so it worked I’m 11 and outsmarted a movie and a person
What happens when the future people from timeline b that came back. What happens when they get born they just created the thing they were trying to avoid
Its just me, but I sometimes feel like people overthink the time plot and make it more complex. Couldn't they make the time only limited to one path and just ignore the factors of other timelines.
