(Norse witch on my private acc here)… „need to make sure my posture is okay“ I FEEL THIS 😂 I tend to slouch so badly so I always have to make sure I sit up in my videos 🤣
Love your video. Nothing wrong with using the word "tool" we all use them, electricians, carpenters, any trade, hairdresser we all use tools, they help us! Cheers
In Wicca the Bolene is used exactly for all the things you use your knife for. It can be in a sickle form or just a knife. Traditionally it was a white handle or made of natural material like bone or wood. The Athame was called the black handled knife and was double edged. The Athame was for energy cutting/directing and elemental or spiritual work and the Bolene for practical physical magical use. Hope this helps. Lovely tour of your tools. :)
So the term “divination means all the tools to use for guidance, messages, readings, etc, right. I am very new to these ways & am trying to understand all the types involved in witch craft. Divination was certainly one I was wondering about & what it included. I think this video will help & I’ll go back & look at some of your older videos too. Thank you.
Sometimes I feel guilty about not having a proper book of shadows/journal. It's just a messy, unorganized notebook of things I've altered from different books I've purchased. Also worth noting that I just ordered your book. 🎉
I'm so interested in folk witchcraft, my ancestors are from Germany and France I would like to know about those practices but I don't know how to start :(
😊 I would really appreciate a video or short or so about the apps you use for your practice. Overall a super helpful video, as all, so far (binge watching your videos right now 😂). Will buy your book soon too.
In traditional and folk lore practice. The stang is the altar. Dont need to cary box in the woods. They normally have a centre in the falkrum, containing a candle and a skull etc. I do taraditional volk lore, both celttic, germanic, and dnordic viking and do coven work. A famous witch near me wes doreen valiente, often saw her in town. Died in 1999.. she has the valiente foundation, and have a witches ball at halloween zawan. I like gemma garys books and nigel pearsons. Tbey compliment eachother.
Most if not all the Wiccan tools have their original in ceremonial magick, and l wonder to what extent eclectic Wiccans are discarding traditional tools and incorporating tools from folk magick in their practice. I have a stang for exactly the reason you mention - it seems logical and feels right.
i was wondering if you have any books that you recommend? ive been getting into reading lately (instead of only mostly from videos like yours ❤) and im struggling to find reputable authors. any tips on how to sniff out solid scholars/authors?
I have a video about book recommendations just a few videos back! 🤍 or here is the direct link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cROcQt7q1C4.htmlsi=CETgSgXDpokhNC4Y
@@EllaHarrison is there a book about German folk magic you could recommend, in English. I'm a descendant of Germans that were in Pennsylvania as far back as 1790 (haven't gotten farther back yet) on my mom's side. I had a dream a few weeks back about an unnamed ancestress that I think may be from this line and am looking for ways to connect with her.
my most used tool has been with me for a long time now, never seems to get old, an immortal? it´s a secret one but if you asked nicely i would show it to you, Ella! i would go, don´t worry you can hold it in your hands, it won´t bite.. did you know some of the tools come alive at night? (watch those sleeping streams if you don´t have a live one handy) i´m currently training to be fully ambidextrous, which to me means using my left hand only! oh, in our language there´s a specific verb for doing a circular motion with with your fingers (that´s how you know that tool also has a counterpart).
