Great list, too many great freeware to fit into only 10 picks.. Some other great ones that could make the list that come to mind Bordeaux, Bologna, Brussels-Charleroi, Belgrade (including only letter B lmao)
I fly the ATR into EGJB in the sim quite a lot actually, mainly because I live on Guernsey, but it is nice to have such a good quality freeware for my home airport. We do very rarely see smaller variants of 737 come in here and iirc a319 and 318s too, you can probably manage to get off if you are fairly below MTOW but there are no regularly operated flights with those. Mainly ATRs, there is one E195, and Flybe used to operate the dash 8 and the BAE 146 into here. Recognised that as an Aurigny ATR right at the beginning and had a feeling EGJB was coming up.
Have you seen the version which RealVFR is making? I think you're going to be in for a real treat, as he is covering the entire island and not just the airport. The details I've seen of it are stunning!
@@MatthewKiff Oh wow, didnt actually know this was in development, gonna have to keep a close eye on this, definitely looks like a big improvement as far as local landmarks and terrain already, but still looks like it has a bit of work to do
Great video and thank you for the tips about these airports. Can I recommand Bardufoss Airport (ENDU)? Spectacular scenery and challenging approach. Especially rwy10 where you almost needs to shave the treetops before touchdown.😁 Have fun everyone!😉😉
I’ve flown into Samos for real but came in from the north and landed on runway 27. We hugged the mountain which was on the right of the aircraft and it almost seemed like the right wing was touching the terrain. There was an audible sigh and much applause when we landed. Fortunately I was wearing brown pants that day😂! Our hotel was only just slightly east of the airport so when we were on the beach, aircraft that landed on 27 during our stay practically skimmed the waves. You could see the whites of the eyes of passengers on board. Nasty crosswinds as well. For the most part though, most aircraft landed on runway 9.
How about Istambul LTFM? It's COMPLETELY missing from the sim, and it's Europe's busiest airport. Technically it's still Europe, because it's this side of the Bosporus. It's worth making a comparison between the mod and what's in the sim instead. Surely a top 10 candidate for freeware.
milan linate is my home airport and yes, i can tell you that the green building with the yellow jetways is correctly modelled, it actually looks like this
Very much appreciate the video. They all look stunning. On a personal level, I do find some of those transitions a bit gut wrenching and would prefer simpler dissolves etc.
As some who has been to Milan Linate it’s is green like that but it isn’t so bright like it is on the scenery add on, but it is still really accurate that’s the only unrealistic aspect.
Ive flown into Puls several times and haven't exactly had the best of luck. One time there was a 2 hour delay, the next the aircraft had to divert due to a passenger issue and then my most recent time a delay of 5 hours due to a bird strike.
@@Easyjetsimpilot Yes yes it's a very well built airport in the sim but a bad airport in real life. They only have this one tiny shop inside and I definitely know that their food is not the best!
Nice video on the top 10 freeware airports in Europe. Looked at photos of the real Linate airport, and it does have green buildings 😁 Anyone knows if (how many) Heavy gate or ramp parking is available at Linate?

It is a shame that youtuber never mention freewere airports because there are so many that are at the same lever of payware ones. Notvyo mention the GA airports.
