The Beast Gohan fumble is particularly sad because it capped off (I’d argue) the best year in Dokkan history. The red zone meta has been the most fun out of all of the previous metas imo, and 2022 started with perhaps the two most well-designed characters in Dokkan history and two of the most hype characters in all of Dragon Ball. The Super Hero Celebration was poised to be the pinnacle of Dokkan, the crown jewel of 2022, had it replicated what the 7th anni did, and they managed to fumble it in more ways than one.
@@rainerspin I’m not even talking about the EZAs, I don’t really care too much about that. The fact they fumbled Gohan’s kit, links AND his animations (not being beast) is insane. The rest of the celebration was ok but he was carrying the hype. It’s been said a million times, but they had the easiest home run lined up and somehow they fumbled in a way words can’t describe.
I feel as if once the meta is more established and the power creep calms down (they design units on UTILITY RATHER THAN LOOK OOO HIGHRR NUMBER) like they did 2 years after sbr and the category meta was released dokkan is gonna be way more fun than before
I really hope so, there's no fix to these characters for years until they get an EZA and kit change. The only defense I'll give for beast active is if it one shotted but it hits like a feather, and rip saiyan saga
I think LR Ultimate Gohan could have been the exact same but after his active skill he remained in Beast for the rest of the fight like a costume change and people would not have been as upset with him.
Kinda like saiyan saga exchange goku and piccolo. If you activate the active skill, you do damage and transform into another character. They should’ve done this with beast gohan

The absolute worst part about Beast Gohan is the fact that his active skill is the single greatest animation in the entire game and its wasted on this unit. Imagine if this was a stand alone Beast Gohan character with that animation as his super attack, that would be the most hype and most fun unit to use by far. He only does one attack in the movie so if they were to come out with a stand alone unit i can only imagine they would have to copy and paste the attack but just worse.
Fumbled the bag so hard with the hypest newest character in the db universe. They neutered their success. Can’t imagine what stone sales would have looked like if they just gave us the real beast

Another gigantic issue I have with Ultimate Gohan is that not only is he relatively underpowered. We still don't have a modern STANDALONE Dokkan fest or LR of the Buu Saga Ultimate Gohan that could come anytime soon and completely replace this guy. And we are gonna look at "Beast" Gohan and be like: "what's your purpose anymore?"

@@anstorner I don't know if it will,for one,two,it doesn't matter. Games need support and if Dokkan's support dies down,they could shut down the servers. Look at Apex Legends Mobile for example. The main game is still going strong but the mobile game just got shut down not even a year later
On a serious note, thank you for your content this past year truth. It's been one of the hardest years of my life and your videos have helped me laugh while on chemo, plus kept my mind on something calming while I make food for my mom and take care of her. You Diddy and nano always make me laugh and entertained, along with dokkan itself :)
4-5 changes would have made Ultimate Gohan way better: permanent guard, stacks atk on 18 Ki, Greatly Raises DEF on 12 ki for 1 turn as well (if you want to count this out since he get permanent guard anyways), Ki +1 (up to +5) with each Super Attack performed and guaranteed Super with 20 it's so simple and it's so easy like why was it so difficult for them?

Tbh, yeah I hate how they shafted Gohan, it’s ridiculous. I still love using him though, especially that active skill. My only hope is they make a Lr Beast Gohan one day with a way better kit. We still need to see that kick as an SA.
I both love and detest his active. Aesthically, goated in my opinion, toppling Gogeta Blues active. But I fkn hate the practical use of it. That attack blows the head of the newest big bad to pieces and it hits like an active that dropped years ago.. like at least give him guaranteed crit and action break for goodness sake. I'm almost sad that animation was wasted on that unit
I think the thing that pisses me off the most about Gohan is his completely awful linkset. There is literally nobody to run alongside him. I love using him and every time I see what links I have active I have the same "What the fuck" reaction each time.
Agreed on the link set. The only viable one you'd run on his common teams with 5 is Teq Ultimate Gohan, who only shares 2 until transforming. Other than that, 4 links is king for him.
I actually didn’t think of kioken goku and great ape vegeta but truth is totally right they should have been a world wide celebration or at least their own celebration that moment is personally one of if not my favorite fight in dragon ball
This moment is BLATANTLY anniversary worthy and it's Goku vs Vegeta, so of course they'd sell. But no, they just can't release an extreme unit for anniversary because they're biased as hell...

@@aarongregory4980 Yeah, Cooler is the only exception, they never fumbled him. PHY Cooler was one of the best 120% leads, STR Cooler was dominant for many months and better than most LRs, LR STR Cooler is still a top 5 unit to this day. If only they treated other villains like him...
What I love about Truth is his brutal honesty. Content creators for other games shy away from giving the game smoke because they are partners of the developers. Not Truth, man, he thrives off of Bandai‘s and Akatsuki‘s fuck ups lmao.
Gohan's intro gets me a little sad, it's a good theme altogether and it's so grandiose, but it reminds me of when we were watching the reveal for the first time, we heard that theme, and were watching the animations for the first time, shortly before finding out it was an active skill.
It pains me so much that they shaft so many dragon ball heroes units by giving them passives like these ssj4’s or god trunks, it cripples their usage by so much

Personally, I don't mind the Gohan active skill being just that. An active skill. What I HATE is how utterly useless he is at 55% compared to Piccolo at 55%. It's not even fair. It's like comparing a toddler to a NUKE launched from orbit at mach 874,030.
The biggest issue for the hero ssj4s is simply that thier stats are just so bad, like their kit can actually perform, EXCEPT THEY HAVE F2p EZA STATS. WHAT DO U WANT US TO DO WITH THAT. their stats go “bare minimum” at rainbow. Imagine them being with actual dokkan stuff.
the worst part for me with the beast gohan stuff is that we aren't getting another actual beast gohan for like at least two or three years. we still dont have a standalone blue gogeta from the broly movie and thats now over four years ago. its just disappointing
@@muhammedbadjie1960 no I know that's the point. Plus they already used the animation for his special beam cannon and his transformation. So they're either gonna have to come up with new animations for both if they do a transforming beast Gohan, or make him standalone, not include the transformation, and maybe even not include the special beam cannon. They can't just reuse the animations from a unit they've already released. While they kinda did it for the lr gods they massively improved that animation. There isn't much room for improvement with the special beam cannon animation or the transformation.
I completely agree with Truth on this whole list, especially with the number 1 spot. "Beast Gohan" is the biggest let down for as long as Dokkan has been around! Sure Radditz is horrible, but who really cares? If any character deserved to be the undisputed #1 it was Gohan! I can't stand the level of copium I see on Twitter from certain people (who I won't mention) that can't accept that fact that Dokkan's "Beast Gohan" is just straight up dog shit!
Personally I think a lot of it is the way that they hyped the unit so damn much. I can sorta get over the fact that his kit is meh at best but the way they spelled out BEAST with each video and showed us card arts that had HIM FRONT AND CENTER NEXT TO ORANGE PICCOLO. I mean genuinely it’s like someone telling you the got you a PS5 and all they did was tape a PS2 and a PS3 together
@@ismaelmatos5141 I agree with you there, they did really hype us up a lot with those promo videos. Especially since what they used was that shot of Beast Gohan from the card. I could have also gotten over how bad his kit is if we did get a playable Beast Gohan, whether it was standalone or transforming. As long as I could see the character on my rotations and animations I would have been really happy, I could have cared less if he wasn't number 1 (even though he should have). Yes, I did say that he should have been, but I came off what the anticipations were from what the character is and their sheer power that was represented in movie. For example, how Lr UI Goku and Lr SS4 Gogeta were anticipated to be the best in the game in their release. Sure enough, they dominated the game once they were out. Lastly, I liked your apology of the ps5 thing. It's like when parents give their children the box of the latest console but inside is the older model, which is what Akatski/Bandai did to us lol.
The DB Heroes characters last year I think can all fit in the same slot as the SSJ4’s. All the characters could’ve helped their teams, but were pretty much restricted to Crossover teams
Make Yellow coin LRs compete with DFEs and the problem is fixed. Carnival banners are a shit excuse to divide DFEs on a celebration and split a two unit banner into two separate banners. My biggest issue with the format is splitting DFEs to both parts hurts f2ps limited stones cycling through both banners while on discount/3+1 to maximize the amount of featured DFE units. Keep DFE part 1 and Carnival part 2 and I’m honestly ok with the change
Yeah, I dont think anything can be worse then releasing one of the hypest forms in Dragon Ball as an active skill. Whoever made that decision needs to be fired.
That Ultimate Gohan is still one of the most mind-boggling things ever. Nobody was hyped about Ultimate Gohan from Super Hero. The hype was with Gohan BEAST! People weren't hyped about normal Piccolo from Super Hero. We were hyped about power awakening Piccolo and Orange Piccolo. But, the thing is, we got that satisfaction (mostly) with Piccolo, and he is one of the best units in the game to boot. Gohan is just... why?

I'd love to see like a top 10 units in retrospect to their time Obviously we know STR gogeta will be #1 but as someone who only started at the 5th anni, I'd love to see how strong some of these iconic characters were in their time.
I really feel bad for global players right now bc 1st no Gohan and cell EZA and now they have to see all the hype for JP anniversary so it's really not a fun time for them right now
You should do a top 10 Dokkan flops as far as summonable units. It'd be fun to go back through memory lane with something like that. Obviously they'd be compared to the time period they came out in, not the current meta.
Honestly to really fix ultimate gohan, they could have just made his shitty active skill to a rage transformation and have it be similar to orange piccolo to where he can super a million times.
Beast was definitely the biggest fumble I've ever seen with this game expeshily with how they hyped it up. The celebration was a massive w other then fraudhan. Piccolo was fantastic. And so was the ezas. But like was truth said it was unbelievable how they ruined what could have been the best celebration ever. 100% agree.
I still love using Gohan, but the fact that he is not a playable Beast Form is so disappointing. They do not know what they’re doing at Dokkan HQ sometimes
Raditz is up there with int Android 16, premium dokkanfest for new 200% meta completely fumbled and for Saiyan Saga which really needed a good non-Lr unit. And now he's ruined any banner he returns on. 19:51 Should've been the dokkanfest Lrs of the 7th Anniversary tbh.
The only way they can fumble worse is if they make hercule the anni character into spirit bomb Goku, should just be Goku and Omega and then Goku with Buu
Funny part is they kept showing us the Beast Gohan Art on the Teasers, then you realize it's not even a Card lol its just his Active. They could've just advertised Ultimate Gohan not show pictures of Beast Gohan bruh.
i wouldnt really even be mad if gohans active was just busted. if he stacked, or it did more damage the more attacks he performed or whatever that would bump the damage up to like 20-40 mil and maybe provide an extra effect i wouldnt be mad. but the fact that it is so beautiful yet so worthless in damage
God, if you told me that Raditz would have been dethroned IN THE SAME YEAR BY A DOKKANFESTIVAL LR for the most frustrating units of all time, I wouldn’t have believed you. I am flabbergasted that BEAST GOHAN got treated with the same love as RADITZ.
I completely agree that putting base Goku and base Vegeta on a yellow coin banner is one of the worst decisions they've ever done. They really should have had a whole celebration around them. They coudl still maybe make base Goku and base Vegeta but idk man as you saod they used basically everything
But I do 100% agree with why they (great ape vegeta and kaioken goku, cooler is obviously not on the list lol) are in the list, the BEST fight in ALL of Dragon Ball reduced to dogwater gold coin lr's, I am never playing as this characters even though this is one of my favorite fights in Dragon Ball, thanks Dokkan! I hope I am wrong about Carnival LR's and they do make the 2nd part LR's as good as the 1st part LR's, so we never get a fumble as great as this one. Also they are more deserving of anniversary than the SS4's and Gods, fight me.
you know if the beast gohan active skill was amazing, I'm talikng like 20 million damage guaranteed crits supporting the rotation amazing, then it might not be that bad. Instead it just does like 2 million damage.
They can't even bring up an argument of a lack of animations for Beast Gohan. Super Gogeta from the Janemba movie only did that Soul Punisher combo but they were STILL able to make an LR TEQ Gogeta with a well animated 18 ki and an improvised 12 ki from a different movie. They could've just given Beast Gohan similar treatment and make him an actual playable character, but no. They pull whatever this is. I'm not mad, just incredibly disappointed.
I was using least gohan in movies team but in max cell redzone I replaced him with the green God goku and I was just immortal. At this point I could just auto it
