Cradle wasnt banned because mass creature removal is very common, artifacts are easiler to spam the field with due to 0 mana artifacts and how much rarer artifact removal is.
@@winden-3685 not that much of a nitpick there is a PLANESWALKERS super friends deck out there and mono red darretti artifact deck its not that uncommon or hard to build
Cherries is fighting with every fiber in his being not to say 'completely insane' in the episode where it is probably accurate to say for each card. Keep up the great content!
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
20k subs this week? It's about to happen with all this incredible content! Yall are working like mad and it's very appreciated, the videos are great!!!
29:24 Fun Fact: You can actually play a deck with no creatures if you have one of the Planeswalkers that let's you play them as your Commander. (P.S. I'm not sure if anyone is doing that, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Will & Rowan, or Saheeli, spellslinger deck out there.)
Forest is imo the best land. It opens up a TON of amazing turn 1 plays and Mana fixing. Outside of Llanowar, Fyndorn, and Mystic elves we also have access to alternative Mana dorks (avacyns/BoP). While people generally say islands are better since blue is the best color, but a turn 1 island is much less impactful than a turn 1 forest.
Strip Mine for dayzzzz! Other lands I love Vesuva, Lake of the Dead, Dust Bowl, Planeshift Lairs, Modern Horizon ''Canopy'' Lands, Volrath Stronghold, Hall of Heliods Generosity, Deserted Temple, ''Pain'' lands, Winding Canyon :P
A fun little wrinkle with Tabernacle is that the creature is destroyed and not sacrificed, whereas the Magus says sacrifice. Ulamog laughs at your puny Tabernacle trigger.
Great video, I personally don't play any fetches in any deck unless I care about landfall, very specific. Never had a problem mana fixing without them but I understand why people love them
Command Tower is also great because it's super budget and included (I think) in every pre-constructed Commander deck (along with Sol Ring and Arcane Signet). I mean banning it wouldn't be that big of deal for veteran players that have all the possible lands ever printed (although yeah it's the best land in every 3+ colors commander decks), but it would really hit the new players, but, again, I don't think it's ever going to be be bannes since it's been a stable presence in every pre-constructed decks since I think the 1st edition.
My crusade against coffers in non mono black continues. Single target land destruction is getting more and more important and i always love to let people tutor for coffers in 3+ color decks to stripmine their urborg
Not sure if it was printed after the video was made but the world tree is great for mana fixing and making other lands tap for any color gives cabal coffers something to tap for while your waiting to draw that tomb of yawgmoth.
Excellent video as always. I play Beezy's Karametra combo deck he posted at some point on Tapped Out, it's definitely my strongest deck (with some modern upgrades). These guys definitely know their stuff and I really only watch them and Command Zone for strategy videos now
Watch "I Hate Your Deck". They pull off a lot of cool combos and the atmosphere of their show is realistic whereas Game Knights seems suspiciously scripted.
I use Magus of the Tabernacle as a replacement for Tabernacle of the Penrillvale in my mono white elesh norn stax and it puts in the work, and accidentally combos with my win con
Love your channel thanks for the great content. I would however put bazar in the main because of my friends proxy (yes we play with proxies) his bazar deck killed me us all in 2 turns.
You are pretty much right about bazaar. It's not that great in pretty much anything besides dredge but if you have a ton of dredgers in your deck you just draw like 14 cards each turn instead of 1
I have a Bazaar of Bagdad in my Karador dredge deck. It's pretty good, always happy to topdeck it, very combo heavy. 8-9 power level. Best card in deck? No, but rock solid. Especially with Reanimates, Animate deads... etc
Allright, let me get another crack at predicting this list (in no particular order): 1. Ancient Tomb 2. Gaea’s Cradle 3. Serra’s Sanctum 4. Strip Mine / Wasteland 5. Field of the Dead 6. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx 7. Cabal Coffers and Urborg (got a hunch you guys will put these together, idk) 8. City of Brass/Mana Confluence 9. Bazaar of Baghdad 10. Command Tower 11. Myriad Landscape (real iffy about this one but it’s soooo good in lower powered decks) 12. The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale 13. Mishra’s Workshop 14. Prismatic Vista 15. Phyrexian Tower (probably too specific but I know you guys won’t put maze of ith here so I had to find a 15th card 😅) Let’s see how many I get right! :)
I'm pretty sure that because of the wording of "Pay 1 life" is different than "deal's one damage to you", you can circumvent the damage with a card like Archon of Coronation but you would still lose the 1 life if you paid it. They're technically the same thing most of the time but you can get around the 1 damage but you can't get around the paying the life
Mana Confluence might be slightly better than City of Brass because City of Brass will still do damage to you if tapped for black mana using Urborg’s ability
What's amazing to me is that, despite running nearly all of the multi-mana lands, rituals and abusing Phyrexian mana, K'rrik manages to be just one of many solid Commander decks, rather than the juggernaut it looks like on paper. Still loooove it though!
Poor fetchlands cycle, not strong enough individually like the Serra's Sanctum/Gaea's Cradle/Phyrexian Tower cycle :P I'm actually kinda curious to see Mishra's Workshop in action, because at first glance it seems like the build-around cost is too high for just one extra mana than Ancient Tomb.
So with how much you guys hate on the reserve list would you guys ever consider making lists of strong cards without reserve list cards, or reserve list cards as honorable mentions, or maybe splitting the list in two, or naming more non-reserve list cards as honorable mentions (or something to this effect)?
@@NitpickingNerds I guess? It's just that a large chunk of several mtg videos (not just you guys) is spent talking about cards most people don't play (and can't play). I think it makes a lot of videos a lot less helpful for a general audience. (Just food for thought).
I would argue that Cabal Coffers is better than Nyxthos because it allows for better recovery from things like board wipes because it only requires your lands to be on the field. Other than that great list guys. Thanks.
Alchemist’s Refuge is my all time favorite land. The ability to flash out a big spell before my turn starts changes the game. Let me flash out this Tooth and Nail and then cast Expropriate on my turn.
Tabernacle is just around 2000 Euros in Europe if you go for a lightly played italian one. For 5000 USD i would expect an english one in quite a nice condition.
Kinda sad Yavimaya, cradle of growth didn't even get a mention... I mean It's just a green version of Urborg but man I have seen it do some work especially if your playing with Timber Protector and Ashaya, soul of the wild. I've seen this thrown in an Omnath locus of creation deck along with tons of ways to tutor for creatures and lands to bring them out and always be hitting your landfall triggers.
Mana confluence is better than city of brass because city of brass hits you for just tapping. An opponent could tap and untap your land and kill you with that, while mana confluence doesn't have that. Even more if you have urborg or chromatic lantern you can use mana confluence without paying life.
Bazaar is pretty good in reanimator and dredge decks. I had it in my Gitrog deck for a while and it was really really good. Is it worth it to just get and play in one deck? No. But if you happen to have one or your group allows you to use a proxy, it is an amazing card.
As always i feel that alot of edh players undervalues scavenger grounds. Now im not saying its top 15 but 16 yes sir, it fits in any nongraveyard deck, can be used more then once with a little build around at little to no cost. Bazaars a strong 17 tho
In a small corner case, if your opponent taps down your City of Brass, you take the damage, but not with mana confluence. Probably own’t come up in edh, but it did in a PleasantKenobi vintage-or-legacy-i-think video
Weird for you to make a list of cards why I run Cleansing Wildfire in my decks. Also 28:45 yeah they never did that. Thank god they didn't can you imageine what modern would be like if they did that? The decks would cost you so much...
Guys have you considered Glacial Chasm? :) It's so dirty. One of my favorite tricks is to fetch it with crop rotation while being attacked. It's powerful enough to see play in vintage/legacy lands and it's also only a few bucks. Not enough people know about it!
so technically mana confluence is better than city of brass, with urborg or yavimaya or other ability like from chromatic lantern or world tree mana confluence wont deal damage to you but city of brass will because the damage is dealt with city of brass taps in general and not just from its mana ability
I can name every single one of them! and YOU could, too! Hang out in the discord, espacially VC to be part of the process! Its amazing! (Disclaimer: sadly i dont get paid to advertise, im just simping. The discord IS objectively great though). Join now!!!
I would strongly argue that Boseiju, who shelters all should be on this list or at least tied with cavern of souls. I understand that it comes in tapped but it's a very powerful land.
There is also an enchantment version of tabernacle called pendrell mists that costs 3U. I play it in my oloro creature hate deck because I don’t have 5k Lying around
We love the “strictly better” discussion, we had worked in the past to make a magic card that was strictly better than Lightning Bolt and the card had like a thousand words on it lol
There's an argument for Vesuva being close to, or even in the list. At any time, it enters as the best land on the battlefield. There's a Gaea's cradle? You just got a Gaea's cradle.
My Teferi chain veil deck had no creatures in it, just for the sake of being creature less. It's a bitch to fight against though. Creatures make things fun.
