I really like the cover of Uncanny X-Men 158. Yes it is a 2nd appearance. But also the first appearance of rouge in a X-Men comic. She punches Wolverine right through a wall!
I think my favorite one the list is spawn, and I definitely agree that the Luke Cage cover is awesome. I woild have added Harley Quinn's first apperiance in The Batman Adventures #12. Great show as always. 👍😀
There's a few honorable mentions for sure, also the first app of deathsteoke. But deathstroke and Harleys first apps, while both on the cover, theyre both just too off to the side!

Thanks brother! I think Luke cages first app is underrated and not given enough light. Everyone always talks about DC 27 OR AF 15 but those aren't as cool as these! They're just insanley iconic/valuable haha

Good List! Do variants count? If so, Something Is Killing The Children #1 Jenny Frison variant is STUNNING. Fantastic Four #49 is the first appearance of Galactus and looks awesome. Avenger #57 first appearance of Vision is so hard to get a good copy with that Red cover. And the last one I will ad is one of my personal favorites Thor #337 first appearance of Beta Ray Bill. I have the copy I bought as a kid and it has been with me through some pretty challenging times. I met Walt Simonson at a local con and had him sign it. It is one of the books on my list that I'm taking with me when I die!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!
TOTALLY agree on that first app of vision thats a beaut. I actually tried to stay away from variants as often times theyre technically a second print therefore rendering them unable to be on the list, but yes indeed I just looked up that cover, DOPE ALERT!

Nice man, I like a comic focused topic. Definitely mix these in so it's not just all statues. A suggestion would be top 10 favorite writers or artist. You favorite series by genre like fantasy, scifi, horror ,etc. Keep it up J-dawg lol I think you will be starting 2021 with well over 500 subs!!
For me it would have to be Carnage's first appearance. A little biased since he's my favorite Marvel villain. Another one I love is Tim Drake's first appearance as Robin. Such an awesome look with him swinging in front of the Bat Signal
Oh man... That Doomsday storyline was great at the time... I loved the masked look and how they slowly exposed him over time. Great list... Gonna cost me a fortune! Thanks! Lol
I feel like Alex Ross's Batman: Harley Quinn shouldve replaced War Machine. You cant go wrong with Alex Ross. Im a sucker for Alex Ross lifelike depictions of characters. Other than that the list is awesome.
I like your selection very much, agree with a lot - maybe not with the placement of this warmachine cover - and your number 1 - although I didn't know that (as some others) but it's pretty cool one. I would have to break for lobos 1 appearance, I just currently got it and find it epic - maybe something for a list of best read - first appearance issues... I didn't expect to enjoy it so much because lobos costume looks goofy as f - but the conclusion of this issue and some of the main man action blew my mind. I think Angela should also get a spot - glorious classic cover. I wondered that there wasn't green lantern stuff at all - I took it that's your fav. Cheers
There's so many I wish could have made this list but this list was MY personal favs that's why the order might seem strange to many people. I think Lobo's 1st app is weak because he looks too weird for me! haha good choice though!

Ah but thats the thing! I avoided iconic covers and was judging solely on affect and presence! I did account for iconicness of characters to a degree but I didn't just want to make an AF 15 and Det. Comics 27 list. Everyone does that, and I think these covers are infinitely more impress albeit perhaps not as iconic
Are you high?! Luke Cage over Spawn? And no mention of Deadpool or Cable in New Mutants 87 or 98? Those two characters are iconic from the '90s a time when people thought comic books were on their way out and characters, badass dark anti-heroes like them saved a dying industry. I don't get me wrong Spawn is my absolute favorite so I'm really only offended cause you made him number two LOL my fiance worries that I don't like Deadpool anymore are you kidding I have more Deadpool merch, t-shirts, and trade paperbacks than I do Spawn. I would love more but because he's such a niche character anymore all his merch and even a few of his comics are stupid expensive. Having said that all the recent Spawn comics are very reasonably priced with the only exception being a few of the more recent number ones or one shot books but then after those it goes back to the low price of $3 which is a bargain in the 2020s. I also like the decision that Todd made on issue 317 that all books from here on out are going to be cardstock covers, at least the standard 32 page books. That'll make it easier to preserve these copies later on. I typically read my books one time and bag them and wait for the digital collections or some other form of reading them.
You forgot perhaps the greatest first appearance cover ever (and what I assumed would be your #1), Giant Size X-men 1. First appearance of Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus in an absolutely iconic cover. Name another cover that gives you 3 first appearances of characters that iconic (other than maybe fantastic four #1 which is a terrible cover).
Though I agree with Brave and the Bold #28, it technically isn't the first appearance of the Justice League characters. It's just the first appearance of them together as the Justice League. But it is the first appearance of Starro!
I quite agree! Its an underrated cover for sure. Fun fact, did you know there's ONE 9.8 in existence of that comic? So old and yet there is one that exists! So cool
