The Trouba hit on Kadri was absolute perfection!!! From the skating to the positioning to the timing it was textbook! Should have been #1. Reaves' hit was just hard and heavy and the player's reaction was memorable. Awesome hit no doubt but Trouba's was the best on this list!
Trouba on Kadri is the best hit i've ever seen. A lot of these monster hits are against guys who are just receiving or have just passed the puck. Kadri has full possession and skates right into the Trouba 1 on 1 and gets obliterated. Absolutely beautiful.
I remember when I was around 12 playing organized hockey. This was about 40 years ago. I took a hit that resembled the Reaves hit. I was fine, but my first instinct was to look over at my dad in the stands to see his reaction. He was doubled over he was laughing so hard. He always told me, whatever you do keep your head up….he knew I knew I had my head down looking at the puck and that’s why I got caught. Good times…
Yep. I played from age 6 until I finished high school and the first thing I got told was always keep your head up. I played defensemen so I dished out far more then I took, but I got rocked one game by a fore checking winger that I never saw because I had my head down. Gotta keep that head up no matter what
I’m younger than you by a lot, but my dad also taught me the same thing. As a smaller kid, I always made sure I saw what was happening in front of me 😂
Hronek skated right into Reaves on #1 with his head down. What a dummy. Lots of people regard Reaves as a dirty player, but he could've KILLED Hronek on this play, if he wanted to.
It's amazing how many dirty hits people say are so great across the league, but every Reavo hit seems to make everyone cry. Love him or hate him, dudes a beast
I was shocked when I saw that the Trouba/Kadri hit wasn’t #1..then I saw #1... any hit that turns my mouth into an “O” gets a nod in my book. I miss Reavo btw, LGR.
Slafkovsky desperately needs to learn to keep his head up. He had another incident in the preseason where he puts his head down and gets lined up because of it. That one didn't end as bad as the one in the video because the player was a lot smaller than Slaf and wasn't trying to kill the guy, but yeah he can't keep his head down like he has.
You’re doing god’s work. The NHL scrubs all the violence from their highlights so they can transition to putting on a drag show on ice. You give us the product we ask for.
Saddest thing seeing perfectly clean hits get nonsense penalties, like 3:32. Matthew wins hit of the regular season though 5:06 a beauty. Crazy putting 7th.
You're either blind, or a clueless casual that never played and doesnt know what hes watching........., and a millennial. So which is it, all of the above?
Clearly a newer fan. I know it’s hard for you to understand because they’re much rarer but a hard, open ice hit isn’t dirty. None of Trouba’s even come close
am I the only one kinda annoyed these days that every big hit is being fought over afterwards? like i get the protecting your teammate aspect of it, but if its a good hit and the guy is not hurt or down afterwards, keep it going cmon
Lmao at the rangers literally threatening legal action on the league over tom wilson and then they make Trouba their captain. Headshot headshot headshot every time hes on the ice and of course rangers fans love it
Not even dirty. When Hronek skates forward with his head pointed out like a lance, that's what happens. Reaves ran him over and didn't even lunge forward or take extra strides in doing it. Brutal hit, but a clean one. Pick your head up, Hronek
Maybe the forwards need to start keeping their heads up!!! I played hockey my whole life and the first thing I was taught was to always skate with my head up. If someone is skating with their head down, head contact is unavoidable
