It’s quite sad that the league has been reduced to maybe 10 players across like 5 or 6 teams that actually lay hits and know how to finish a good check. It’s a skill, and instead teaching it it’s just been abandoned.
You’ve also got to take skating into consideration. Every player now is in incredible shape and has to be at a near Olympic level of skating in order to compete. You’ve got to be able to time a hit perfectly. If not then all of a sudden you’re out of position and the other team has an odd man rush. It is also true that most players avoid heavy hitting now because of the whole CTE scare.
Too right. Hate to see when an absolute TANK of a man doesn't use it to his and his teams advantage. The commentators often say that hitting " isn't a part of their game. " Im still trying to make sense of this. How did that ever become acceptable? I throw more hits and I don't even play hockey.
Yes he is and everyone always cries that they're dirty hits. Its such BS. He hits shoulder to shoulder. He plays hard and hits hard. Can't take a hit ..... play a different sport!
Thanks for making this. When the way-too-soft NHL decided to stop doing top 10 hits of the week videos they left an opportunity for small creators like yourself to come take that part of the market.
It is just ODD AF to see Justin Holl on this highlight package. Dude has gone three seasons without throwing a check, we get Schenn back and he goes into beast mode.
Oh Please!!!! The Penguin fans always cry about every hit!! The guy was half his size that hit him!!! He hit him in the chest and shoulder. Malkin is a pansy!!!!
On a joking note, Ovi pulled a Bane on that guy. On a serious note, that should have 100% been a penalty and maybe a suspension. That could have been very fatal.
hit on drury should have atleast been a 2 min boarding or double minor boarding and charging but refs like to play hellen keller when the canes are playing good
He sees the Flames player coming for the hit and turns to not get hit. Put himself in a vulnerable situation when the hit was already coming. It's boarding during a battle for the puck and a player comes in to just clobber an unsuspecting player.. also kind of considered assault honestly.
@@Shmerpy and yet your commenting on and opening up a hits of the month clip? Just looking to complain? Go watch your "actual hockey" in some plays of the month clips, this is where the big boys hang out
The first clip of the SLIME Ovechkin. There was ABSOLUTE MALICE in that. He tried to break the guys back. Vile hit. Anything like that into the shortened boards by the Benches that should be at minimum a Double Minor. He didn't push him into the bench to let the force disperse no he pushed harder into the boards again trying to break his back.
@@jackiewurdemann7204 yeah I know. Cowards all of them. Just like with the other slimes in the NHL. Like Tom Wilson, Brad Marchand, Tkachuk boys (YES BOTH), or the Mikhail Sergachev on Tampa Bay. He's pretty bad too. All these guys commit penalties with malice and intend to hurt the player they are victimizing. Case and point. Ovechkin tried to break this guys back, Marchand tries to sever the Achilles Tendon on Oliver Bjorkstrand on the Kraken the last time they played took his left skate right up behind Bjorkstrands right ankle and pressed down you can TOTALLY SEE IT. Luckily the Rat didn't get him his blade got the protection plate on Bjorkstrands skate. Not the first time the RAT OF RATS had slue footed someone and severed the Achilles of a player.
