hello again! i was wondering if you could do a video on the tallest freestanding structures in all the countries that comprise CANZUK, also the tallest building in my city (surrey, bc, canada) is the 3 civic plaza (at 50 stories tall and 150 metres, it is the tallest building and is right now the only skyscraper in surrey but we should be able to add 5 more towers to that list soon.)
Also oddly enough Downtown Vancouver situated on a peninsula, only has 8 skyscrapers for a total of 25 throughout metro vancouver with Burnaby having 14 skyscrapers! soon burnaby could have 21! vancouver will then potentially gain 8 more skyscrapers only to have 16 two of which will be just outside the peninsula. the tallest tower under construction in metro vancouver is in the brentwood town center in burnaby with the two gilmore place adjacent to gilmore station rising to 62 floors at 201 meters, This victory though is likely to be short lived with the recent unveiling of the Concord Metrotown development, also in Burnaby. The tallest skyscraper in this project, situated on the southwest corner of Kingsway and Nelson Avenue, will rise 65 floors and reach a respectable height of 230.1 metres. Once more, even this victory in Metrotown may be fleeting. In Burnaby’s Lougheed Town Centre, a preliminary proposal for an 82-storey tower near that precinct’s SkyTrain station, with an estimated height of a soaring 265 metres, has been set into motion.
even im confused so maybe you could make a video about something to do with tallest buildings in metro vancouver or even make a mini series about proposals and the history of development in the fraser valley? it's ok if not
Sounds like you are really into your canadian skyscrapers 👍 thanks for the info. We only really currently have Auckland with any major Skyscraper developments here in NZ but the competition is starting to get there with building the tallest building (although it has been very hard for anyone to get consent to build over 190M due to the Sky Towers lowest viewing platform) the title has been taken twice in the past 2 years and is set to be retaken by taller buildings twice more in the next 4 years. It might take me a while to get all those videos done and I have a couple I need to finish working on right now. But I will defintley do a top 5 in surrey soon for you, even though you only have 1 150M+ building you still have plenty of other tall 100M+ buildings which in most areas would still be considered skyscrapers, like in this video for example 50M buildings are normally considered Skyscrapers in Ireland, and depending on the City here in NZ you will often see a 50M or 75M building being called a skyscraper, even in Wellington where there is a ton of density and some reasonable sized buildings they still call 12 floor buildings Skyscrapers even though they are dwarfed by 20 and 30 floor buildings all around them. Ill also see if I can get a vancouver one up for you, maybe tallest in metro area, by tallest freestanding strucutres do you mean just Canda, NZ , AUS and UK? I could do yeah tallest abadoned proposals etc, it can be quite hard to make more documentary type videos so it will mostly be statistic based if I do history of proposals but that could also be really cool.
