I didn't understand the hatred against Cool For The Summer, I absolutely loved it , most of Demi Lovato's music was really forgettable and boring, but this song was actually fun to listen to and memorable.

I personally can't stand Honey I'm Good and I don't think Cool For The Summer is the best song of the year, but this list is great! My personal list: HM • Trap Queen, 679 and My Way • Can't Feel My Face • Take Me To Church • Renegades • Chains • Bills • The Time Is Now (John Cena) • Night Changes 10. Like I'm Gonna Lose You 9. Time Of Our Lives 8. Style 7. Blank Space 6. Drag Me Down 5. Downtown 4. Hello 3. Love Me Harder 2. Shut Up And Dance 1. UpTown Funk!

+Scizor For Hire I'm not a 1D fan AT ALL, but I honestly like Drag Me Down. It seems to me as if every single artist I don't like has at least one song that I like (ex: Jason Derulo's "The Other Side", Future's "Where Ya At") , and every single artist I like has at least one song that I don't like (ex: Kanye West's "Bound 2", The Weeknd's verse on "Or Nah", Kendrick Lamar's verse on "F*ckin' Problems", Drake's "Worst Behavior"). I guess that's the reason I don't bias certain artists.

I'm so glad that Blank Space is number 1! That's my number 1 too! I'm still pretty upset that Mark still doesn't understand the song, what it's about, and what it was trying to say. I love it not just because of that, but also because of its excellent writing! I really hope it wins at least one of the Grammys it's nominated for!

+gole311 It really was shocking, and disappointing, not to see it on here. By far the best single of this year (can't really count Blank Space since that was technically released last year) and by far one of the best songs off of Queen of the Clouds.

Yeah I thought Cool For The Summer was actually awesome, I was really surprised when I saw this on some people's worst hits lists, I thought it had a lot of explosive power and I like that she's been going in a slightly more aggressive direction, even if it does occasionally come across as her trying too hard to be "edgy".

Top-notch list this year, Mark. As a subscriber for two years now, I can say with confidence that this is the Best Hit Songs list I agree with the most. HOWEVER, "Downtown" not being on the list proper did make me cry a little. Also "Take Me To Church" not taking at least the #3 spot.

Your praise if Style honestly made me have a deeper appreciation of the song. I think it's so interesting that in the lyrics, she's comparing timeless fashion statements to the relationship, while the production in the track can also be seem as timeless. I can easily hear the 80's-90's pop influences, and I can see myself still listening to this songs years in the future. That being said, I still believe that Wildest Dreams was the best hit song of 2015 and the best song on 1989.

I'm glad Uma Thruman is on here! It's a catchy actiony song. I'm not a huge fan of One Direction, but I think Drag Me Down was better than Night Changes. Cool for the Summer did have a nice guitar riff. I gotta say, I'm a little sad to not have seen Lean On or Hey Mama. Lean On gives an explorer environment, I can imagine two people dancing to it in a ruins of aqueducts and waterways. It has a funky, tribal element to it. It's trippy, like a lot of Major Lazer's songs. Hey Mama, I thought it was a little annoying at first, but then it grew on me. I feel it's a good, "roll up with your squad" type of song. The bassy hum in the background sets a tone of red action that you can imagine three people walking by with stern looks on their faces. Nicki's and Bebe's vocals give an electricky feel that complements the bassy hum as to entice the listener and portray herself as a goddess that can command any person. It's actually opposite to the message of the song, which is that I'll submit to you. I personally thought 2015 was a good ass year for Dance music. Ain't Nobody by Felix Jaehn; Outside, Pray to God, How Deep is Your Love by Calvin Harris; Sugar by Robin Schulz (yes, I like the original too); Be Together by Major Lazer. This is just my opinion, but it is so relaxing to here the feathery, echo-ey, glossy vocals complemented by a powerful electronic background. Rather than the instrumentals complement the voice, they seem to work together to bring you to the end of the song. I also liked Talking Body by Tove Lo. I think it's been a while since we've had some slay-pop from artists like If You Seek Amy by Britney Spears, Shut Up and Drive Rihanna, or pretty much anything by Christina Aguilera. A song that's carnal and dominating where a strong female is able to show off her sexual prowess and fuckability in a way that doesn't seem slutty but empowering. Yeah, these songs are a bit poppy and autotuned, but they're fun in the right settings.

Like I did on your worst songs video, I'll post my favourite songs of this year, with reasons given: 10 - Hotline Bling by Drake; Great instrumentation, No clear stance as to whether Drake is in the right or not 9 - Sorry by Justin Bieber; Lyrics and performance sound genuine, The lines about how many mistakes he made 8 - How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris & Disciples; Dance song that you can actually dance to for once, Lyrics are extremely sexual, Ina Wroldsen's vocal performance suits the song very well 7 - King by Years & Years (It was a huge hit over here in England); Olly Alexander has a great voice, Great production work from the other two members 6 - Here by Alessia Cara; Very specific lyrics which actually work pretty well, Situation Alessia is in is relatable, Soft instrumentation works with the song 5 - Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd; Infectious groove to the song, Weeknd's voice works well with this genre, Classic pop feel 4 - The Hills by The Weeknd; Same reasons stated in the video 3 - Downtown by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and co.; Same reasons stated in the video 2 - Shine by Years & Years (seriously, Years & Years are huge over here, everyone go listen to them); Olly Alexander's vocal performance here is outstanding, Instrumentation actually changes the same time the narrator expresses his feelings, Olly sounds like his feelings are real 1 - One Last Time by Ariana Grande; Best vocal performance of her career in my opinion, Shows that she is a mature singer for her age, Her intentions sound genuine in the song, She admits to her mistakes and to the fact that what she's offering will most likely not be taken by the person she's singing to but still wants to try and persuade him for her last bit of hope Wow those last two were cringy as fuck to write. My honourable mentions would be Locked Away by R. City ft. Adam Levine (Levine gives a good vocal performance for once), Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon (Same reasons stated in the video, Overplay knocked it off the list), Bills by LunchMoney Lewis (Lyrics are actually funny), What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber (Loving his new artistic direction), Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy (Same reasons stated in the video) and 679 by Fetty Wap ft. Remy Boyz (I'm sorry, but it's a giant guilty pleasure of mine)

I thought this was a great video! Good picks! I've been a fan since last year, and lists like this are part of the reason you are my favorite critic on RU-vid and one of my most-watched RU-vidrs ever! You've influenced my study/tastes in music and helped me find new acts like Doomtree and Sage Francis and helped me learn new things about music. Can't wait for the best albums of 2015 list!

I think it's just me, but Adele's Hello (as well as Justin Bieber's Sorry) feels more like a 2016 hit than a 2015 hit... I don't know, probably because the last two months of 2015 felt way too fast for me. Anyways, I agree with the general placement for most of your songs. The only song in your list I don't like is Good For You. Here's my top 10 hit songs and honorable mentions of 2015: Honorable Mentions: Ghost - Love her voice and just an overall super catchy song Love Me Like You Do - Got old for me but still love the overall "broad" feel to it. The lead in to the chorus is amazing Uptown Funk - Would've been a lock for the top 10 if not for overplay 679 - Got me into Fetty Wap and the chorus is a masterpiece Can't Feel My Face - Love the infectious feel to it. Photograph - tbh a little boring but the song touches me for some reason. Could be because of that one time driving home at 1am and the radio played this song. Loved this song since then (btw love the video) Cool For The Summer - Second favorite Demi single for me. Seemed a little too heavy and overwhelming for me at first, but really grew on me through August and I ended up really liking the passion Demi put into this song 10. You Know You Like It - The song's beat is really great, but many other songs (The Hills, Lean On, Talking Body, etc) do a better job imo. But what makes this song in the top 10 is the ability for me to connect with the lyrics. 9. See You Again - Not a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise but this song still got me crying. 8. Talking Body - The beat and the flow, combined with Tove Lo's infectious voice, makes this song one of the greatest 7. Waves - I like the original better, but the remix is still great. Gets me thinking about my past for some reason. 6. Shut Up And Dance - A super fun song to listen to and dance to. One of those songs that will cheer you up no matter what (Uptown Funk and 679 has the same effect, but not as much as this). If not for overplay, this would've been easily in the top 3 5. Stitches - Honestly this song has a lot of improvement space. But for some reason the flaws, working together with the exceptional segments of this song, just click for me 4. Wildest Dreams - Love the dreamy feeling to this song and the chorus is an absolute masterpiece. 3. The Hills - Hated it at first, but grew on me around July. Love the dark feeling to this and the intensity. It's the lyrics that makes it seem like he's a straight up badass but actually has a deeper meaning that makes this song so superb for me 2. Style - Absolutely agree with you about loving this to the point where it doesn't matter if it's about Harry Styles because it transcends musical boundaries. Every second of this song is a masterpiece, it's almost flawless to me. Probably one of my favorite songs of the decade (Tbh this song made me a fan of Taylor Swift) 1. Take Me To Church - Hands down masterpiece. I'm nonreligious, which does indeed mean the lyrics won't connect with me. However, the instrumental, especially the chorus and Hozier's superb singing are among the best of all time. This is the song that got me following Billboard every week instead of every month. My opinion on the songs that made it on your list but not mine: Chains - Great song at first but got old for me really quickly. Would rank at around #30 for me Good For You - I have no reason to hate this song. But I just do. I honestly don't know why. Same case for Same Old Love and Hands To Myself. Would rank at around #90 for me Ex's and Oh's - Overplay killed it for me but otherwise honorable mention is likely. Would rank at around #25 ish for me Budapest - A little too boring for me (yes I know, Photograph made honorable mention. see above for why that song made it) Would rank at around #40 for me Downtown - Love the fun feel to it, but sadly barely missed the Honorable Mention cut. Would rank at #19. Honey I'm Good - Same as Downtown, except it would rank slightly lower at around #25 Night Changes - Only 1D song I would actively like. But still, it got old really quickly for me. Would rank at around #30 Uma Thurman - Same as Downtown and Honey I'm Good, except I think it's a little too messy for my taste. Still a great song though, but Irresistible would outrank this if it made it on the year end list. Would rank at around #35 Hello - I'm pretty sure this is only me, but this song feels way too 2016 to be ranked high on 2015. Will probably make my top 10 best songs of 2016 list (though being outranked by When We Were Young). As for 2015, it would rank at around #25 solely because it feels too 2016. Love Me Harder - Good song but overplay killed it way too much for me. Would rank at around #30 Overall, 2015 was a great year other than the fact that overplay killed way too many songs. However, I'm certain Take Me To Church and Style will make my top 10 songs of the decade, while The Hills has a chance. Wildest Dreams and perhaps Stitches will get the honorable mentions of the decade. (btw I'm not confident that any 2014 song will make top 10 songs of the decade for me). Damn that was a long post... Just spent an hour writing that but hey, at least I got my opinion out there. Feel free to disagree.

Honourable Mention 1:Probably my choice for #1 (My pick for #2 I think will be #1) Honourable Mention 2:Great Song Honourable Mention 3:Decent Honourable Mention 4:I wanted this to be in the top 5 Honourable Mention 5:I like this a lot too Honourable Mention 6:I'm from the UK and I'm sick of it now Honourable Mention 7:I'm surprised this is here, I love it, but I didn't know you liked it that much 10.I'm getting sick of it, but it was Fantastic in it's "prime" 9.Seriously? It's not as bad as some people say, but it's just kind of mediocre for me. 8.Happy to see this, best song from 1989 7.Sick of it, but it was quite good in it's "prime" 6.I'm so happy somebody else likes this! 5.The only older song here I'm not sick of 4.Really good 3.Surprised it's this high, but I really like it 2.My pick for #2, I thought this had #1 in the bag, phenomenal song 1.I knew this'd be on here, but not this high! I like it a lot, but I don't think it's the best song of the year.

Ok, Interesting list, though I personally can't stand Take me to Church. Or Honey I'm Good. Or Uma-you get the point. But there were some songs I legit loved in there...just not where I'd put them. 10. What do you Mean by Justin Bieber. I'd argue that the beebs is better here because of the subject being simple-confusion-and also an improvement on some previous work. Also I really like those flutes. 9. Cheerleader by OMI (remix). This song has the respect for the girl that Honey I'm Good just...lacks. Also that horn is really nice. Wind instruments are nice in pop music. 8. Can't Feel my Face by the Weeknd. Honestly this one is just really catchy, and I like what he does later on with the twisting of his previous words...I'm bad at explainig things, aren't I? 7. Hello by Adele-That emotion, man, that emotion...also what you said. Also some persona reasons. 6. Blank Space by Taylor Swift. I appreciate the effort to be more self-aware and upfront, Taylor. I kinda like how it swells up with the drums by the end of the chorus. 5. Cool For the Summer by Demi Lovato. DEMI NEEDS TO MAKE MORE ROCK-ISH MUSIC. ARE YOU AND I THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS SONG!? 4. Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon-Really dancy and great and fun and dumb but GOOD Dumb. Though it reminded me of U2... 3. Time of Our Lives by Pitbull ft. Ne-yo. I'm surprised you didn't mention this. Pitbull actually takes his rap in a more relatable direction, including those lines before the final chorus. The simple instrumental just...works here. 2. Downtown by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ft. Everybody. Yeah, the raps are kinda dumb, but the earnestness and pure charisma just pull me in. Also, Ryan Lewis does another wonderful job on the instrumental. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good retro song. Speaking of which... 1. UpTown Funk! by Mark Ronson Feat. Bruno Mars. It just...it's excellent. The charisma, the style, the FUNK...also it was there the whole year. The WHOLE YEAR. It just captured me. I'm still not sure If I should bump up Style to a place on the list...oh well. EDIT: Screw it It's a top 11. Style now goes between Can't Feel my Face and Hello.
