@@celloafterdark4173 thanks ! Unfortunately, what I loved in the mountain pack was the deep and secure side pockets. Which are really hard to find in backpacks nowadays. The Y pack looks great but the side pockets are not secure enough. I like to have my bottle both accessible and firmly attached if I have to run to catch a train, when I bike, or if I am in a crowded public transport. So @Topo Designs , please, please make a smaller version of the mountain pack !
Séverin B. Yes! Those water bottle pockets were a serious consideration for me too!!! But I ended up going with something that had an external laptop compartment as I mostly use it for work. I’m currently in a position where I can keep water at work so I’m hoping it will be enough!
I am really confused with what colour to purchase. I lke this color the most but i am worried about it getting really dirty because of that combination of light colour. I just wanted to know how is that bag going hold on against dirt and if we can wash it if get really dirty ?
There is a bit of space between the base and the laptop sleeve, but not a whole lot. So for added peace of mind - definitely use a protective laptop sleeve :) Hope that helps! - Ed
The laptop sleeve is fairly padded and the base of the bag is also pretty sturdy, so there is a fair bit of reinforcement for the laptop. Shouldn't be any problem if you're using this to carry a laptop for the daily commute. Hope that helps! :) - Ed
Awesome review! I'm a bigger guy with broud shoulders. With that said, do you think the 11.5 inch width of the bag would fit well on a bigger framed person comfortably? Also, are the shoulder straps pretty close or narrow at the top? Appreciate any advice in advance.
Hmm good question. In terms of the look - it should look fine as the bag as a trapezoidal kinda silhouette (with the water bottle pockets on the sides). But in terms of fit it's hard to say. I don't think the bag felt narrow in any way, but depending on how broad your shoulders are - it potentially could be a tighter fit. I'd recommend seeing if you can try it in store if that's possible for you. Hope that helps! - Ed
Hmm hard to say, might be a bit tight in the laptop sleeve. But if you have a separate case or sleeve you'll definitely fit it into the main compartment of the bag. - Ed
I really loved this color and the design but suddenly a fat officeman wearing shoulder straps with a diaper came to my mind and I can't stop thinking of it
