Of course they would, especially considering Kawhi was still in his prime the next year, averaging a career high in PPG with the clipper in his first year there. But I think if they repeated that he would just get pressured to stay and try for a three peat.
Honestly I think we could have repeated without Kawhi. Pascal was on fire and the whole team was clicking in 2019-20, best defence in the NBA and we had a higher win percentage than we did the year before. Pandemic hit and in the bubble Pascal wasn't the same (same with Gasol). Despite that, we still took Boston to 7 games, and lost because of a few missed rebounds and a few poor shots in the dying seconds. We could have gone on to face Miami - a difficult opponent but still a winnable series. Then play the Lakers - again, a difficult opponent but we definitely could have won the series (we had beaten the Lakers 3 out of 3 times during the season). Honestly losing to Boston in the bubble playoffs still haunts me. I truly think we could have gone back-to-back.
@@beansandrice44 Same. The pandemic screwed up a bunch of their chemistry, for sure. That 15 game win streak, the comeback vs the Mavs, the scarves...that whole damn team was clicking like, well, returning champs. Kawhi having left, everyone thought they were done. They were just getting started. I think they could have made the finals, for sure.
@@stanlee6829 2015 ?? when warriors the beat cavs without kyrie or love? 2019 curry was still healthy, saying he needs 2 superstars to beat kawhi and raptors 😂
@@stanlee6829 Raptors went through the Giannis led 60 win Bucks and Embiid, Butler Simmons Sixers, at some point you're just going to have to admit to yourself that the Raptors were just the best team in basketball in 2019 my man 🤣
People don’t realize how much Toronto had to go through to win their first Championship, not to mention Leonard and Lowry were playing with injuries. Congrats to my home city again on their first championship!
@@tdb4763 Did the Raptors have the exact same team and arena after he left but minus Kawhi? Kawhi didn't carry the Raptors as much as you believe and the years since then only prove that fact.
So much goosebumps, so much pride in this team. I loved watching every game. I had no idea we were going to win a championship, it only felt real once we won game 5 against the bucks and from then on, it was a dream. I love this 2019 team forever
@@stanlee6829 first, Durant was hurt that’s it so idk wtf you mean everyone. Second, if Kawhi missed that shot Toronto goes to OT and wins regardless so….
Haters want to bring up that GSW's KD and Klay was injured that series, but they forgot, GSW didn't even have homecourt advantage in the finals because they lost the regular season match-up against the raptors 🤧 So if KD and klay wasn't injured, they still wouldn't beat Prime Kawhi as a raptor
'19 Raptors will always be the barometer of what the perfect team looks like for me. Kawhi, Siakam, Lowry, Gasol, Ibaka, FVV, Green, Powell. Experienced, talented, hard working and mentally tough.
There's an Indian guy they call the superfan who had literally attended every Raptor home game since ninety-five for something like twenty-five years? incredible. I was at the first opening game as well with my son great memories from so long ago
man the Gasol screens and passes are so clean on top of the DPOY defence. Man really doesn't need to score a single point to be extremely effective. He was the most under appreciated during that run.
honestly i thought that too, his passing is so amazing as well as defence and even when he did throw one up it went in pretty much everytime he is a wonderful player
Way Go Toronto Raptors Best Season in the Toronto Raptors Team History and Country of Canada 🇨🇦 and Toronto, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and Toronto Raptors 2019 NBA Championship 🏆 in the 2019 Season.
Man what on earth was kawhi thinking? As a college basketball player myself, I would never leave a team like this. They were clicking on all cylinders.. no drama, great organization and coaching, just won a championship.. why would a player want to leave that? Mind boggling shit..
Kawhi not staying and defending this title is going to be looked at as one of the worst decisions made by a great player and will lower his standing in all-time great discussions. The Raptors would have at least made the 2020 finals if he stayed.
Nah, he's a first ballot hall of famer and too beloved. That's like saying when Jordan came out of retirement and played for Washington...not the same Jordan but that did nothing to tarnish his repertoire. Kawhi is solid no matter his decisions since then.
@@WhineyOne Not at all the same as Jordan. Kawhi could have been a back-to-back champion and three overall. He chose not to defend his title and play for another team. Jordan never did that. He didn't have to stay long term in Toronto (1 or 2 year deal with option). That would have moved him up in all-time great rankings.
@@WhineyOne Of course if he wins a title with the Clippers, he'll prove he was the difference maker for three championship teams and that will solidify a high all-time great ranking. I just think he would have been even greater had he stayed in Toronto and won back-to-back.
Wonder what is the reason for showing this anyways I don't mind watching this even if Toronto doesn't win another title in the next 10+ years. One thing for sure at least the Raptors have a title to their name unlike some other teams who have been in the league before Toronto *cough cough (Denver)
Nah, he did what was best for him and his family. He's already solidified. He can leave the sport tomorrow, and he will be remembered for this run. Not anything to do with his personal life.
kawhi's biggest mistake was leaving the raptors to go to the clippers. they haven't done shit since he signed and the raptors would've gone back to back with the same team playing even better, a top defensive team, pascal improving and a healthy og.
That Eastern Conference Semi-FINALS 🏆between Toronto RAPTORS🦖 & Philadelphia SIXERS👨❤️💋👨 is very MEMORABLE, FUNNY &😆😅😂🤣 HILARIOUS on the part of SIXERS, After Game 7 of that RAPTORS & SIXERS ECFduel , The Big GUY SUPERSTAR Center 🧔🏽🔄😭of SIXERS Joel EMBIID cried like a CHILD BOY after the FINAL BUZZER sounded, Where the Final Winning Shot of RAPTORS Kawhi LEONARD has bounce for Split Seconds or a SECOND, BEFORE IT⏳⌛ FINALLY WENT THROUGH THE GOAL ... 😢😪😭⭐👨❤️💋👨🔄🦖🏀➡️🗑️🔔🏁🏁🏁
