I got physically ill with a cold about a day after listening (not even enjoying, but wanting to see what the fuss was about). I usually never get sick. I thought about what had happened and made the connection…I renounced my actions, repented and was back to normal the next morning.

Don't be so hard on yourself. When you were young and when she was young, the songs were cute and relatable. You are grown now, and Taylor is still stuck in as early high school girl mentality. Might sound very odd, but 9 times out of 10 when I meet a single, childless, woman who desperately wants to be married and with child, they all die hard Swifites. You are what you listen to. You become what you idolize. Thank the Lord for showing you the light and forgive yourself too.

This is my experience as well. I listened to her new album in its entirety, and in the days since, I have felt anger, resentment, and paranoia about my husband for seemingly no reason. I realized yesterday that it had to be Taylor's album. Then I thought back to when Midnights came out; when I was listening to that album a lot, I was really struggling in my marriage. There were other factors at play (new baby + PPD), but Taylor's recent music seems to only pull me deeper into that resentment and dissatisfaction. I'm now seeing that listening to this stuff is not beneficial.

@carlyhatfield2848 that's very similar to my story! I was postpartum and decided to start listening to Taylor Swift during my daughters many naps. I stumbled upon her song Happiness, and with my hormones, life changes, etc. I started getting influenced to leave my husband because he wasn't doing what I wanted him to do. That song mentions "7 years in heaven," and coincidentally, my husband and I were going on 7 years at the time. A lot of her songs incite pride, arrogance, unforgiviness... I'm glad we both saw past it :)

Well yes it's sad she wrote the lyrics two years ago about a Man who broke her heart. She has since moved on and found closure. I personally love sad music,I have always seen Taylor's music as a warning for young girls to not make the same mistakes she did. There are bad men in this world who take advantage of girls, and they never show their true colors at the beginning. I actually went through something like that recently with my best friend a life long devout Christian, met a Man who seemed at first the perfect Christian man found out months later that he was a predator who sexually abused his sister as a child and was still involved in gangs and other stuff. I told her to leave him,but she didn't want to or understand why because he said that it was in the past. I prayed for God to remove him from her life and he eventually broke up with her and she found out from his sister that it wasn't in the past. So now when I listen to many Taylor Swift songs I just praise God because that was almost her, and I knew the signs she told me he was displaying from Taylor Swift songs,so her music actually helped me know to help her. So Most of you who bash Taylor Swift's music are either very naive or don't understand her music at all.

Taylor Swift is not teaching women what to look out for in a man who is “bad”. She celebrates and exploits her bad experiences because that’s what sells music. There are many ways to get healing and help without the mind control and the manipulation of music over the masses. Look to the LORD for your saving and life groups and community with people who love the Lord.

I think I might agree with both of you. If Taylor is writing songs - for praise money / prize money & to exploit her experiences of life, that’s no defence & I fear it. So rich unhealthy. But then so is bill microsoft & his schemes are up for ending poverty. on the other hand if she writes because she’s got herself into daft situations and eventually gets to grips it’s a mess , there’s a flavour to her getting out - that’s healthy natural power of a blooming rather than fading flower, not remaining under it forever. Of whatever huge neglect she has towards her Real Saviour she enables us a huge favour by describing the pain of sin basically - though she might put another name on it. Those who idolise her & follow her to look up to her stupendously are foolish, but I think there’s a huge monopoly in the world including the Christian one to stay quiet shut up and just eat your cereal. She shouts about dark situations. And that puts them to fright in the light. This can never end for her unless she’s more honest & humble & I thought I saw somthing of that in the heart of ‘the prophesy’ oh well, time will tell. But there is plenty of sick theory in Christianity not from Jesus. Believe me I’ve sat under it & made it myself. There’s no greater authority than the Truth himself to get us out. And at minimum Taylor describes events. Rather than circumvents them with total lies. & that’s a start. The lain under dead weight men & giving beyond what you should do, is a common problem beyond a single section of society. And I think in heart there is a soul searching for decency in her work. But seriously folks the worship , the screaming , really gets my goat. That’s goat with horns stuff surely in some sense though her songs alerts ‘confidence’ in women unseen. And last of all what’s the loss in validation. There’s plenty don’t want to listen to us, so let’s listen to her hearing. You exist , experiences damaged, now let’s exit. Isn’t that what Jesus does. But god damn it, she won’t lead you to God himself she doesn’t sence his name. But maybe an inch further from Satan somehow… if you don’t sooth where she’s fallen. But as there’s plenty of drama queens about we can do that without her input pout. I read the lyrics to all 31. A couple were teenager / football themed in love concerning Travis because she still likes him. So they weren't bad. Multiple f bombs including 18 of them in Down Bad alone. Fortnight-a 2 week affair followed by wanting to murder the guy's wife. She wrote this album before she met her current boyfriend, and she has said on Social Media and on her tour that she is over all of the stuff in all of her albums,right now she just cares about owning her music and after TTPD is released she is closing that chapter in her life,she has found closure and acceptance she also said that she was partly responsible for the troubles in her relationships but she is over it now and she has moved on. I feel you. I love rock music. Was recently listening to the 2000s rock channel on satellite radio, and the old songs I used to love had the most depressing lyrics. It literally made me start praying for the artist. Lol Then I was convicted to no longer listen to secular music.

For example we can mention the Spirit’s role in creation. Genesis 1:2 speaks of the Spirit “hovering over the waters” and superintending the work of creation. In a similar fashion, the Spirit is responsible for the work of the new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) as He is bringing people into the kingdom of God through regeneration.
