This ethernet cable clearly serves a purpose, so comparing it with a gold plated HDMI cable is disingenuous. I didn't put gold in citation marks, because the cables are indeed gold plated. Gold plating is cheap, and the reason why even a 10USD net card will be gold plated, it serves a purpose.

@@locustbl8z no it doesn't. Gold plating is used to avoid corroding. Copper for instance corroded easily, which is why your graphics card is gold plated for instance. I know you were being sarcastic. But it seems that a lot of people doesn't understand that gold plating has a purpose, and is also very cheap.
