I had that happen to my virginia too, aparently whats happening is that she's thristy and when she can't get water nearby, her AI will default her to that very same lake and stay there, so it's just a bug, not much we can do if we build far from a water stream.

They should add in trip wires that make noise. Take cans and make "detectors" with some sticks and rope.

I made this, but twice as big with a revolving staircase on the inside. Its much more practical and it allows both Calvin and Virginia to come all the way to the top.

I've built some pretty wild structures myself at this point, but nothing that large, that is impressive. Kudos to you on that build. I know the pain on farming so many trees as I have 66+ hours into the game myself lol.

You should make the top of the tower into a zipline hub, so you can travel everywhere easily

another pro tip - use at least 2 save slots, my crossbow glitched on my hand, along with attachments, I couldn't see it in the inventory and I could equip something else, lucky i had another save or i would have lost attachments and that's even more hours lost

My machine isn't all that powerful so I run things on low setting but the shovel cave was giving me serious issues getting to the shovel so, I found a group of mutants fairly close to each other and tossed a grenade, killed the couple survivors looted the creepy armor, rinse repeat a couple times and made a discovery. Full creepy armor and you are now one of them. they no longer attack and you can kill the mutants without retaliation. The cannibals will not attack unless you attack them.

remember to keep saving just in case something goes wrong , i had a good sctructured house made a big one that 3 of my friends and i were living in we had good traps arround and everything to stop the canibals, but it still went to the floor and we haven't saved in like 4 hours like newbs and we loss a lot of progress, we dont know what happend a big cannibal hited hard a part of the build and 2/3 of it fel like dominoes...

When/if you're going to do another build, clear a path of trees towards the water, so you sort of have your own driveway from the house to the water. That could look kinda nice.

You could go to the top of the mountain and do a zip line up there and walk back and connect it to the top of your base

Pretty sure you can fill in the triangles by cutting the logs in half, then half again as you get closer towards the corner.

PRO tip: Go in ESC, Options, Gameplay and turn destroction off (or whatever is the name)
