It’s not just a car or a truck; it’s a living legend that defines what an automobile truly means. Luxury isn’t about having a panoramic sunroof to look at the outside from above; it’s about reaching a place where you can observe the world and escape the toxicity of social media or chaotic city life. Those who own this vehicle don’t just own a car; they own a legacy. And Powerdrift film shows every bit of it. :)
Those of us in the us don’t get the hilux as they aren’t imported here but we still get other Toyota vehicles that exude this dna. Your review is spot on. Toyota, despite their market share, still make cars and trucks for the enthusiast. This review highlights this approach.
I still remember a certain power drift review from 9 years ago. And they are still pushing out legendary videos which are not just "content". I just love it. So much enthusiasm in these videos
If and when I have 40l in my pocket, I would want a vehicle that’s reliable tough can go anywhere, will be able to accommodate people and things, and would be fun to drive, Considering all this if you have 40L Hilux should be your first choice every time.
Driven the Hilux, Xenon, D-Max, Camper and Yodha Double Cab too. One - there's not much Hilux did in this video here. PD made a KGF here. The Hilux remains to be overhyped and overpriced. Period. Said my bit.
Hilux's main appeal is the reliability. Sure, the smaller Indian Domestic Market pickups are reliable too, but none of them has this much pedigree under the belt. Also the powertrain, its more expensive, compared to most, even all of the mentioned vehicles. Paired with the 4WD and bigger size, the only nearest competition is the D-Max. In India, these aren't abused enough, compared to Australian outback, and let's just ignore Africa here as most of those Hiluxes are quite old, they've lesser electronics and plastic parts that may go wrong. Still it is very much overpriced, but overhyped it isn't.
When I think of reliability and durability, I think of a Hilux truck. Not the Fastest, Not the most comfortable but it is as dependable as it can get.... An offroad Legend
Simply...You will not get wrong getting a Hilux. When you are on the road or no road... there is no need to explain when you are sitting on a Hilux. Mechanics Knows best... than social media influencers. 👍good review
Absolutely Straight Outta Heart - This video doesn't need payment from TOYOTA - It will get immense LOVE and RESPECT form whole PD and Automobile Community and TOYOTA people, because of the GENUINENESS, The point - This isn't a WANNABE CAR with INFLUENCIAL STATUS - ITS A CAR BUILT TO PURPOSE.
What a film ! Mind blown ✅ From start to finish, every shot in this video is absolutely stunning. The editing is top-notch, truly showcasing the best of what can be done. it can easily outshine any automotive channel and leave them speechless. The classic PD editing style, which we've missed for so long, is back in full force. Exceptional content all around! Karan singh you are a gem at pd #pdarmy
Happy to be proud owner of HILUX........ Agree to everything what you said.......... PD lets see if you are back again like olden days ... i could smell something cooking.. let it cook.
i cannot believe that the song in the end "champion" which i was looking for so long is here but i still cannot recall/find the full song if some of you could please help me find that song by sharing the link or name, i would be grateful. Thanks.
4:46 you look like a 20year old, and reviewing it as if you have tested the durability of it from past 30-40 years LOL. "Buttons will be clickier that way for lakhs of kilometers it seems LOL".
This video took me back 10 years when you guys reviewed the Audi S4, Ten Hut telling the story of Audi's take on sports saloon for India and now with Karan about the legendary Hilux. Can't believe I've been watching your videos for a decade, always gonna be a part of PD Army!!! (P.S. Nostalgia also from the background music Prophecy of Divine Judgement, it was used in the Audi Review as well)
no matter what you do or say it will not pick-up in India, no gadgets, no road manners, no comfy seats/space at the back seat is appalling, a family hater and dinosaur like leaf springs... this "truck" has been here in Nepal from the day it was launched (back in '65) and haven't managed to garner anything other than an ego of being a toyota, it is easily beaten by any crossover that has 200mm ground clearance and 140+ hp..... even on the so called "off road" it is hopeless to be driving around on this bullock-cart on modern highways....
@@carswithkaran thanks for your interest, nothing personal/here is the long one... in my experience these are the drawbacks 1) GOOD ROADS, they lack hardware (sway bars, most importantly they are front heavy and tend to fishtail on twisty roads, if you load the rear tray then no in hauling a disbalanced 2.5~3 tonnes, also rear wheel drive doesn't help when the rear tray is unloaded (remember you have a part-time 4WD which needs to be switched to 2WD if you want to do speeds over 100kph), not to mention the harsh ride, a 1.5 t crossover is much more agile, 2) GRAVEL ROAD they are unstable due to their primitive suspension setup, one needs to drive at a more careful pace, unless they want to land in a paddy field next to the road, a crossover with it's full-time 4WD/independent suspension and sway bar is a lot more confidant, 3) OFF ROAD where approach/break over and departure angles are tricky pickups are just too long and the 225~250 ish ground clearance is not enough, again a crossover with properly installed belly protection is much better 4) CITY DRIVING is a hassle and finding a proper sized parking lot is a matter of luck, a car with over five meters in lengths that can only haul four people at most, many more issues can be listed, a crossover beats the truck in every point listed here... finally THE POSITIVES let's get the reliability issue out, most cars these days have a trouble free life cycle of 5 or less years, a diesel is doomed to be phased out in 10 years in most major metro cities, in that sense all decently built cars are as good as a Hilux, where it really shines is if you are using it in 1) a construction site where the rear tray is handy to haul equipments/drills/generators etc.. and move staffs quickly over short distances (seats resemble a thinly padded bench with no thigh support at best), 2) A farm house where it can be used to again haul things, 3) In a hill station/resort/Hotel to transport the luggage and other things from/to city/airport etc... specially during monsoons, clients will complain about the discomfort though, 4) as a boy's toys where it might see off-road once every 3 years..... 5) the best use could for a politician where they can accommodate 5 supporters/protestors in the "twin-cab" and 10 more on the rear tray (which is illegal/perfect for a politician)...
This is used as pick up truck by courier guys in ME region.. same like we have bolero here..This shows how marketing can create a brand in India out of a pick up…kudos to Toyota marketing team…
