Its too bad they discontinued the Prius V. in the US. they still sell it in Japan. Its got more features and is nicer thana regular prius. they have really held their value in the used market too,

good point!! This is probably the best all around prius there is, it's much larger than the regular lift back and almost the same fuel economy, that is just incredible. Since these are used as NYC taxis now, they are pretty solid cars too, in terms of longevity.

I think the reason behind the reverse beeping is that the shift lever doesn't show if you are in reverse. We have a Prius c with a regular shift lever and it doesn't beep
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 5 лет назад
hello, that is a good point, but you can still see that you are in reverse because the dashboard indicated you are in the reverse position. Maybe it's just an extra thing that is common in vehicles in JAPAN, we need somebody from the JDM market to tell us if cars in japan beep inside the cabin while in reverse. I don't think the PRIUS C is sold in japan btw.

hey! thanks for watching! As you already know, you can't go wrong with this prius. It's pretty unpopular only because the average car consumer is only looking for sportiness and a terrible ride. These are smooth, very fuel efficient, and roomy inside, the best of everything an educated auto shopper should be looking for when it comes to family cars.

@@hybrid32494 I just test drove a 2013 Prius V and I have to say that I was extremely SURPRISED & DISAPPOINTED at the real sluggish acceleration, and I'm a very conservative driver not one for going fast, but a car with good pick up is important when you're doing city driving and you need to pull out into a lane real quick so as not to get hit by the car coming up......good pick up is not necessary in the country which is the only place the 2013 Prius V should be driven with such sluggish acceleration/pick up.......the 2017 must be better since you didn't mention sluggish acceleration......my 2007 Nissan Versa is even more peppier than the 2013 Prius V.
@hybrid32494

@@louiseingebrethsen hello! Im thinking you were testing the Prius V with a discharged battery pack. Did you check to see if the car had enough time to normally charge the pack? I can agree that after a while of sitting without driving the car is very sluggish, and it's due to the pack not being charged. A couple of miles under normal driving should have fixed this, unless the car you test drove was having issues with the hybrid system. I've sold and driven versas btw, and I can tell you a normal prius would rip a versa. Plus the CVT transmission makes it feel slower since there are not annoying gear changes, but the upside is insane fuel economy.

Very helpful review, any thoughts or suggestions on whether the 2013 Toyota Prius V Three is a good purchasing option in the Year 2024, which has less than 60, 000 miles, with maintenance records...

There's actually three cup holders in front I think one more is right behind the tissue box you have in the center console.

I will check, didn't notice. Thanks for watching!! this was a random chance to record a Prius V, these are pretty rare in the north east USA, unless you want to review a taxi version, LOL.. I myself have a gen 2 prius.

I have driven and been a passenger in a 2017 prius v. I got used to a 2014 honda accord and it can fit inbo a compact parking spot. Neither is a large car imo but the honda has more room and the seats are bigger. I am 5'9 and I have some back and leg pain that comes and goes so the prius to me is not comfortable to drive or ride in. It could be great in a lot of ways but I am average height and so if you are taller, it might not seem like a large car to you either. I liked the video but its a small compact car to me and the ' ev mode' seems deceptive like its not electric only really.

@hrbrid32494. I'm on the fence between the Prius V, 2nd gen or the 3rd gen. I don't want to spend more than $10,000. I commute 30 each way to work. About 20 miles of it is freeway & the rest is stop and go on city streets. I spend a lot of time in traffic. Which would you choose? I don't necessarily need the extra cargo from the V but it seems very versatile. Thanks.
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 5 лет назад
You're gonna hav a tough time finding a PRIUS V for under 10,000. They are just more expensive than the regular prius hatch (lift back models). And there are fewer of these for sale. Both are terrific, if you can get the prius V at your price range which is not a previous TAXI use vehicle, I'd get one.

@@hybrid32494 Thanks! I've seen a few that are in very good, clean condition with approximately 90,000 - 100,000 miles on them from $8,500 to $10,000. I think that smaller liftback is the way to go for maximum efficiency though. I wouldn't be transporting kids or anything so it may not be a wise choice on my part.

Very informative video. Good job👍😊 This used to be my fav car when it came. Because of the hybrid motor and the large luggage space Toyota in Europe are planning to stop selling the famous Toyota Avensis. Avensis has been one of the top seller when it first came in 1998.
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 6 лет назад
No Avesis model here in the US, unfortunately. We only have the regular Camry,corolla and Avalon. I've seen some vids of the avensis, it looks even nicer than a US spec Camry interior. Thanks for watching yet again!!!

hybrid32494 yes it's very nice design. I had a 2001 avensis 1.6 wich i converted to LPG gass. When the LPG ran out it switced automatically to petrol. It was a gasshybrid.
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 6 лет назад
We don't have any gas conversions here, that would be impossible. Also diesels are not popular at all here and diesel fuel is actually more expensive than gasoline. So my prius is the best choice for fuel economy you can possibly get here in the states. How much is LPG in terms of gasoline where you are??
@asaf1449
@asaf1449 6 лет назад
hybrid32494 In Norway petrol is very expensive even tho we have oil. Petrol is 1,87 us dollar, diesel 1,75 us dollar and LPG 1,3 us dollar. Note that the price is not for a gallon but only for 1 liter. Back in 2010 when i had my Avensis the LPG price was half of the petrol.
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 6 лет назад
WOW, I would be driving LPG if I lived there too, why not. I just got some gas today for $2.95 a gallon. Thats a little higher than it has been the past two years, although seems to slowly be going up with a direct correlation to every stupid move the Trump administration does, LOL.

Regular Prius is not a wagon. It is a liftback. It is odd when people call a liftback or hatchback as a wagon. Wagon = Longer rear overhang with elongated roof, which gives a boot space advantage over a sedan body.
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 5 лет назад
hey dude, that must be an American thing, you're from a European country? Here in the US most people just call cars wagons if they are not SUV's or vans. Otherwise you're right, I just hate the word lift back.

Are you able to set the temperature when the car is off so that it runs the engine to charge the hybrid battery like in the regular prius???
@hybrid32494
@hybrid32494 6 лет назад
what do you mean by set the temperature when the car is off? This does not have a solar roof ventilation system like some of the prius hatchbacks do, (very few). The hybrid in this car operates the same as any normal prius liftback does. THis is not a plug in model btw.
@rosevillereaper9230
@rosevillereaper9230 6 лет назад
Well Prius's are popular among the vehicle dwelling community not only because of the mpg you get but also because you can set the temperature when the car is off so that it runs the engine to charge the hybrid battery just enough so you have heat or AC all the time..It runs the engine for about one minute every hour to accomplish this and uses about a gallon of gas every 10 hours ..Apposed to a regular car where if you wanted to heat or cool it you would have to run the engine at all times to get your heat or AC..It would use up all your gas and you run the risk of asphyxiating your self from the exhaust fumes .I know about the solar vent feature that's just to get hot air out of the car and doesn't have anything to do with what im talking about..

yes!!!, The prius is the mot efficient generator in the world, I head that one some Toyota Prius engineering explained show. IN Japan many of them have outlets and can be used as generator for your home, after the tsunami they had which destroyed the power grid temporarily. IT's a great idea to convert one to use as a real generator, it's quite, efficient and does not pollute nearly at all compared to traditional generator.

Howdy, I’ve been recently looking to buy a Prius V. From what I’ve been hearing is that these vehicles start going downhill around 150k miles with EGR/head gasket issues and eventually around 200k they need a completely new engine. Now I don’t know how true this is because I haven’t gathered enough info from enough people but I’m curious if you’ve experienced any of these issues?
