The CW got bought by a new company who no longer wants scripted TV shows on their network so thats why they are ending the show and giving the show very little budget for it's final season

It is mainly the CW over WB but Max didn't pick it up and if it did I think the reports said they would have ended Superman and Lois right before Superman Legacy came out so it still would have lasted shorter then what the writers intended. I really wish HBO Max picked up Superman and Lois cause then the budget would have remained the same or maybe they would have increased the budget and we would have been given 5 seasons overall instead of the 4 that we are now going to get with a reduced budget for the 4th season.

Agreed! That would have been really cool! Tyler Hoechlin's Superman deserves to be teamed up with a good version of Batman

They didn't follow the Superman comic which Jonathan Kent supposed to be the Superboy but given to another brother...and Lana Lang didn't know that Ck was Superman...why can't they follow after the Smallville story

Yeah the character embargoes are annoying. I don't see what the big deal is having multiple Supermen and Batmen around. The animated side of DC has multiple versions of DC characters being shown from different universes so why can't the live action do it too also it's not like things can get anymore confusing lol. It sucks that they are so strict with those things. Hopefully DC changes the embargoes soon

I think a few of the actors are flat out not returning at all like general lane, Lana, Steel and Natalie. Nothing is 100% confirmed until we see season 4 and maybe they are secretly in the final season in some way and I hope they all come back in some sort of way even Lana (Lana is my least favorite character but I would even kinda miss her in season 4 if she wasn't around at all). Either way it's kinda sad they will no longer be series regulars. Steel was my favorite character and I'm going to miss his storylines being in an entire season for this final season.

I just wish the writers were able to complete their complete vision whether that would be 6 or 7 seasons. They set up potential for the series to last a very long time like we finally got Lex Luthor and it's only season 4 plus season 3 in my opinion was the best season yet so I think they had a lot more good stories to tell beyond 4 seasons

I guess but they are ok keeping around The Batman so I don't see why they can't keep around this series especially since this show focus's on a Superman who is in a completely different stage in his life from the Superman that will be in the DCU

Yeah Tyler is a great Superman and this show probably has my favorite version of Lois we have ever gotten in live action. I'm sad next season will be the last time we ever see them. I hope Tyler will return one day in a future multiverse project

Yeah I can't wait to see how DCU does Krypto in the Superman movie. James Gunn writes characters that are animals really well so if anyone could do Krypto its him

I hope it gets a good sendoff but I honestly doubt it. The writers aren't going to be able to end their show like they originally envisioned which is a shame

I just wish we got to see the full vision of the writers because they wanted to make more seasons. Usually when writers are given one final season to wrap everything up because they are being forced to end, most of the time it doesn't turn out well but we shall see what the final season will look like. I hope it is good

@calelkestifer3570 first off there is no DCEU its over, and secondly the Batman in under DC Studios but not part of the DCU ( DC Studios has two sub sets 1-DCU, 2-Elseworlds ) so the Batman is under elseworlds

Who was gonna pay for it? The CW already slashed the budget for season 4 so the CW would likely have made a season 5 even cheaper snd ended it then anyway.

Unfortunately Max is not picking up this show. I wish they did and give this show a bigger budget with more seasons but even if they did pick it up Superman & Lois would only last until season 5 because of Superman Legacy coming out in 2025. Max giving this show two more seasons would have been better though then this cheaply made season 4 we are about to get cause the new owners of the CW are worse then the previous owners

@@Film1000Channel that’s unfortunate cause it was hands down one of the best things CW has produced. My dad never sits down and watched TV shows like that but he was always anticipating the next episode. Wish they had a sense of what is good for their network.

I think it's the longest running superhero show of all time just in general. I hope one day we can have another superhero show that lasts just as long Smallville did and is as good as Smallville was but we shall see. Smallville was great and one of a kind

Yeah thats why the The Batman is still going but most things have stopped like Titans, Doom Patrol, Arrowverse and other projects because of the DCU. Also if the CW didn't want to end the show or if MAX picked up Superman & Lois then it would have ended in 2025 right before Superman Legacy but the writers had more plans for more seasons. Gunn and Safran are doing the Elseworlds that they want to do and approve of. If they REALLY wanted to they could have saved this show and have it continue for multiple seasons

@@Film1000Channel Titan was cancelled because the quality dropped massively, Doom Patrol was cancelled because viewership declined, the Arrowverse died because they didn't know where to stop organically while Superman and Lois was shortened because half of the writers room was laid off and the costs were too high. I have my doubts about the DCU but to blame it for things out of their control is just lame

I just feel like the ending isn't going to be satisfying because of the budget cuts, some of the cast is not returning and the ones that are, aren't going to be series regulars and it's not going to take place in Smallville which isn't 100% confirmed but due to the budget cuts I wouldn't be surprised if this show no longer takes place in Smallville. This situation reminds a lot of the final season of Gotham where the writers were forced to wrap everything up in a rushed way for their final season due to being forced to make season 5 of Gotham it's final season even though the writers had more seasons planned. If the writers ended Superman & Lois on their own terms with the 4th season then I would be ok with this series ending after season 4 but the writers had a lot of plans for more seasons and they wanted to explore more arcs with the characters. I see the potential of 7 really good seasons but I could be wrong with the number of seasons the writers had in mind of making. I wish they were being forced to end and we could see their entire vision for this series just like how Matt Reeves is being allowed to tell his entire vision of the Batman series. I am mainly sad because of what we could have had but also I feel sad for the cast, crew and writers that wanted to tell more seasons. I do hope the final season/the ending is great and we don't end up with another Gotham final season situation. Yeah I am excited for the new DCU Superman movie. Everything James Gunn has said about the new Superman movie has gotten me really excited and the DCU has done such a great job casting the characters for the Superman movie so far

But I think in terms of Reeves Batverse continuing simultaneously with Gunns DCU Batman, I think Gunn wrote that on Twitter, they plan on making his Batman film simultaneously with the second & third The Batman film has been released It is sad that Superman & Lois season 4 will end even before SL is released, when TB can co-exist, but we’ll see All I know is that I’m eager to see S&L s4, SL, etc I’m generally excited for DCs future on film Keep up your good work & thanks for being a good sport 😀😀

I just want to see what the complete vision this series had. The show shouldn't be forced to be cut short or go longer than what they wanted. Shows usually turn bad when the show runs out of ideas due to being forced to keep going longer than what was originally intended but everyone behind Superman & Lois had a lot more stories to tell so it's sad to see them being cut short.

@@Film1000Channel but it’s not like they were building to a particular story arc and needed more seasons to do it. The reality is they have been given the opportunity to end on their own terms which is great. The worst thing would have been if it ended on a cliffhanger and then ended, I’m pretty sure they said it would only ever be 6 seasons at most anyway,

​@@bobmarshall8527that's not a fair statement we don't know what they were originally building towards because the story they may have been planning has been cut short. They have time now to adjust and hopefully end the show properly but they had a plan to do the show for a few more seasons for a reason and so far we don't have much reason to believe the quality in writing would've dipped drastically by then, season 3s been the best season so far for many ppl

I don't agree that all CW shows get worse after every season. I enjoyed most of Arrow except two seasons and all of Smallville. The rest got worse. I think Superman & Lois had more good seasons to tell

I saw it more as a spiritual sequel to Smallville cause the show takes place in Smallville and instead of Clark learning about his powers in Smallville it's now his sons who are learning about their powers in Smallville

Well yes, the show does take place in Smallville that's true. However, if you look at the way L&C ended, with Lois and Clark having been married, trying to figure out if they could have children, and then finally finding a mystery baby on their doorstep to raise; It suggests that Superman and Lois, is what Lois and Clark had been able to have it's own 5rh season

I feel like 5 seasons would have better than 4 and it would be enough to wrap things up properly but this show had the potential for at least 7 seasons. To me the show won't be a satisfying ending without the OG cast and with the fact that it no longer takes place in Smallville which was a big part of the first 3 seasons. They also only have so many episodes to wrap everything up and they have so much they need to follow up on from season 3 that it looks like there won't be enough time to finish storylines properly so to me it looks like it's going to be a Frankenstein mess of a final season similar to how Gothams final season had to be cause they got cancelled but at least with Gotham they still had a decent sized budget. CW really just made this show not have any kind of budget at all cause the new management at the CW are super cheap. I hope I am wrong though and the ending is somewhat satisfying

Smallville lasted 10 seasons and it was mostly great throughout it's entire run

exactly. 10 season shows really unnecessarily stretch out the stories of these characters, or recycle the same stuff. that's what most shows now are trying to avoid.

@Film1000Channel wow where to start. So many things. It could have been more grounded, similar to smallville, as in the family element. Actually follow the characters instead of tidbits, the seasons could actually feel like a growth instead of season 1 feeling like season 2 or 3, and season 2 feeling like season 1 and season 3 feeling like season 2. Actually, have the boys grow and not act much younger than what they are, especially considering that they have been through. Exploration into kryptonian tech could have been a stepping stone for Johnathan as well as Lois' cancer. Have Jordan really find himself and maybe have him get into kryptonian science and begin a process of traveling the galaxy or better understanding his own genetics. Superman can stop holding back. The opportunities in Superman storyline are endless, yet this show holds itself back.

Actually, it’s the other way around. It’s the CW NOT BEING the CW anymore. If this was the old CW, this show would’ve gone for like 8 seasons.
