I'm not so sure? Another lore video suggests that upon Dracula's defeat, a blood rain fell, killing many and twisting others with his blood (Leandra's entry). Those that survived his blood and inherited it are known as the V bloods that we hunt to gain Dracula's power. This also makes a sense as Dracula can remark on you using his powers against him (he has several voice lines when you first start the fight and third phase in brutal directly addresses it, all but calling you a shadow of what he is). They changed quite a lot of the V blood lore entries with 1.0's release (like Jade having some feud with Styx; this is completely gone as well as Styx's entry being changed from feeling betrayed to being a loyal champion of Dracula). This video should really be marked as pre-release speculation as it doesn't wholly follow the lore that was released with 1.0.

@@aSmolGoth this makes sense, as Dracula's castle has been moved 3 times since I learned of the game. we used to have a massive set of castle ruins in the center of Dunley, with gloom rot it was moved to the boarder of Dunley, gloom rot, and the cursed forest, and now with 1.0 it is a crater and Dracula's castle is in the far east in Mortium. we know that there was a blood rain, that is cannon lore now, and that many people were empowered by it. this new power also transferred to their kids I believe. I still like to think that Vamps and Humans did have kids, because I like the idea that the Seamstress in Dunley is a distant descendant of Dracula's, has Dracula's power flowing through her veins, and just decided to spend her life making clothes and being nice and kind to everyone else.

It's fine to have your own head cannon, but it's still not the present lore. The vampires are weak to silver, sunlight and radiance; all of these imply they are undead. You typically don't get babies from a corpse. If anything, I'd have expected 'dhampirs' from the Blackbrew research on 'blood type E.' However, despite using this blood (spoilers, it's Drac's blood), Blackbrew is still very human, just a very old, 800 year old human. Beatrice especially has no idea of her V blood inheritance and brutal has her transform into a GARGOYLE, not a vampire. When you knock her down to half health, she says she is becoming undone before she turns. Even before 1.0, we didn't have any confirmation that humans COULD be turned into vampires (Valencia and Elena were turned via Dracula directly - this is explicitly stated) or just be converted into servants/thralls only. So, the blood rain doesn't cause this, either; it just gave humans power they mistook as a gift from Luminance (this is also explicitly stated). Brutal mode definitely gives the whole lore far clearer than normal mode and v blood entries via voice dialogues and interactions with bosses.@@mc.builder8267

I think the latest information is that they'll release the game on PS5 sometime soon after the 1.0 release on may 8th, and with that controller support on Steam for PC players. I'd expect it sometime this summer.

From what ive seen ingame, you can not only obtain human slaves, but you can also turn them into vampire npc guards

@DKeverydaySk8board cool, i always thought a game where you could turn people into vampires in a game would be cool as it's not a common feature.

You can turn human NPCs into vampire minions in-game. I am hoping one day they'll extend that to beasts and mutants though. Would be fun to have some of the Gloomrot mutants as vampire minions. I imagine the new Mortium zone will have some really cool servants you could grab.

@@RecreationalValue-gk8jt To expand a bit on what Weaver said, you can not only charm humans and transform them into vampires, but after you've turned them you can equip them with gear and either let them defend your castle agaisnt other players (On PvP servers) but can also send them on missions to attack places and gather resources for you!

That would be so nice. Or at least the option to kind of round corners a bit on your castle so its not just a 90 degree angle.
