People who are complaining about the solo being hard are probably playing on brutal but are not made for it.Ive spent around 11 hours trying to beat Octavian yesterday and while its frustrating at times it still is really fun.I would still suggest them to playwith a friend or find a pve server.

For me the game is almost perfect, the only thing missing was an END game with more things to do. Now you can only raid other bases, and raiding isn't even legal, you can't steal other people's castles, you can't take control of their piece of land. Just get loot and that's it. The cool thing about the game would be to have a greater consequence of being raided, so you can focus on defending and attacking. I took this for my neighbor, I've raided him about 5 times..... and nothing changes, he rebuilds, farms a little and everything is back, this discourages the game

ill have to agree on the Dracula part, I have 161 hours under my belt and Dracula was kinda on another level. I defeated him tho after changing my build to one that focuses on movement speed which was the only way for me to avoid all the attacks that where happening in the last phase. Side note, I found Dracula being easier solo than in a group because of the fact that he doesn't apply the curse if you are facing him solo.

7:08 Given that so many resources can't be teleported, I would agree with that guy's statement. Hence why I deactivated the teleport restriction. I can only see it being added for PvP reasons, as it would force players to travel around with high value resources on them, and being at risk to lose them.

yea this is the main thing we did for our PVE run, it's good for pvp but for some reason people never check server settings when running their own game not public or anything then want to complain XD. Like you can even make more mats drops if you dont like the aspect of grinding in a game, tailor your playstyle and stop expecting games to tailor shit to everyone. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you got to Drac in 8hrs or 64hrs his difficulty will be the same based on your chosen difficulty -.-

We grinded brutal Dracula as a duo for 10 hours learning the fight to a tee and when we finally beat him, it felt super rewarding. Maybe I'm old fashion but I would have been disappointed with anything less. The fight IS super long but they allow you to try over and over without any blood loss or corpse running. I mean this is the final thing you do in the game, a culmination of everything you've learned -- I honestly don't get the backlash. IMO Final bosses should be insanely hard, it should be an achievement to beat them and not every player who gets there should be able to.
@OSPKeaZ
@OSPKeaZ 4 месяца назад
I agree, but at the same time, I get why players are unhappy. Some people love the pvp aspect and raiding they don't wanna have to worry about putting in hours learning a boss. Luckily, this is fixed by having others do it for u I've probably beaten Dracula over 20 times for other players
@yannellinghaus3557
@yannellinghaus3557 4 месяца назад
@@OSPKeaZ Sure but Dracula doesn't even give you that much of a power boost. A level 89 or 90 character is not that different from a level 91 char. Our run was on a pvp server and sure we did get interfered with sometimes but we often beat teams who killed Drac before us.
@mendics
@mendics 4 месяца назад
The repair was our main issue with the fight, we eventually killed him and it took a lot of tries, but most of the frustration was the need to repair after just a couple of runs. We were ready to give up on the fight not because of the difficulty but because of requirements of mats on repair. We steamrolled every boss except him and he was the only one that required this much heck the only one to get us to repair. It took so much that i was able to craft all armor set and gave the broken ones to the slaves. Also the fight isn't perfect, there are a bunch of instances where his attacks seem to rubberband you back to his attacks even tho you dodged it, he can even be resetted if you run him on an edge. Everything else tho, was fine.
@justarandomguyfromtheinter6565
@justarandomguyfromtheinter6565 4 месяца назад
Think about the solo players however, like you said it took you 10 hours to beat him with 2 people, so its safe to say you can double that amount for a solo player, this fight can easily take 20h for one person and lets be honest no one wants to spend that amount of time on a single freaking boss, like that is a whole game worth of time, and the problem is the fight is not even fun its just difficult and frustrating, it just becomes a chore, and since he is the last boss in the game, there is pretty much nothing else to do, and so there is no real reward for beating him other then the satisfaction which yes, it is enough for alot of players, but for the majority of people, they will sit through all those hours of suffering for no reward.
@yannellinghaus3557
@yannellinghaus3557 4 месяца назад
@@mendics What were your server's settings? We did have to repair but we'd get in like 10-15 attempts before needing to. And anyways, like you said, it didnt go to waste cause you can put the broken gear on your servants. We didn't experience any bugs but I do know what you're talking about when you say some attacks are wonky and rubber band. However, I noticed that throughout the entire game not just with Dracula. I chalked it up to server hiccups.

I have played V Rising since day 1 of early access and love what they have done with it. The one oddity I found was that you have to kill the final V Blood to get the end-game armor. That part seemed weird as I would expect to be able to get the final armor before having to fight the last V blood. Yes, it's called Dracula's Chest piece, but other V Bloods drop the gloves, pants, and boots... so it would only make sense for you to have the full set prior to final V blood.

I like it this way. While I understand wanting to have the absolute best gear in the game to fight the final boss, this is a multiplayer first game. It’s just that the gameplay loop is so great that it still functions in a solo game mode. Also, locking the final (and most visually striking) piece of the best gear behind the final boss is another way to get players to keep throwing themselves at him. Ya the amulet is powerful but what does a solo player care about that. Sure the throne is cool but you already have one. But that gear? You will have every piece of the set EXCEPT the one piece that is most visible. That will drive people nuts and they will keep coming back to rectify that. Anyone who would give up on the game because they don’t have that piece prior to defeating Dracula would have done so long before they got to Dracula.

@@mc.builder8267 This is probably the best summary of why they were smart for locking that final piece behind Dracula. If all he dropped was the amulet and it's corresponding storage, nobody would bother.

I have 379.2 hours played - with a good chunk of that in pre-launch. I am thoroughly enjoying 1.0. I’ve been finding the pacing and accrual of upgrades better than pre-launch. It should be noted I play, mostly by myself on a private server with a few friends popping in on occasion. I mention this because I have the luxury of not worrying about PVP and have the ability to set up satellite bases that are essentially just portals with walls. So the traversal complaints don’t resonate with me. I agree 100% with the need for crafting from boxes on site. I get that they will have to almost completely overhaul the crafting system, but I think it’s needed. Lastly, many of the complaints sound like they are coming from people who lack the ability to separate bad game design from a game style that they just don’t enjoy. These players need to ask themselves “is this truly bad design, and I should complain; or am I just playing the wrong game? Thank you for the great content, as always. Glad you’re covering V Rising. I hope you’ll get to Valheim - Ashlands too. Cheers.
@michaelm6179
@michaelm6179 4 месяца назад
I don't really understand the crafting gripe myself. Most of the crafting in the game is automated atm, so do people want to queue up planks and bars? What if I don't want to make reinforced planks or only one so many? Like you said, they'd have to overhaul the entire thing, not to mention it would make all the effort they put into giving us pre-assorted chests completely redundant. You don't even craft that much in this game to begin with, at least compared to others in the genre, so I just never understood this gripe. Seems to me like people got drunk off Palworld giving it from the rip without considering how this system works in the first place.
@ChristopherCDaniels
@ChristopherCDaniels 4 месяца назад
@@michaelm6179 - I can only speak for myself, but the appeal of a reinvented system would be that the machines pull from our storage and we can queue up exactly how much we want made or push an “all” button. Right now, if they just connected the boxes to the machines, it might process more than is desired, using materials that were needed for something else. This is why I believe it would need to be a major system overhaul, because it’s more than just connecting the storage boxes. It is very time consuming running all over my base to take out and put away materials needed for crafting. Sometimes half my play time is spent playing the inventory management mini-game ;-)

A lot of players play solo. Sadly, only 1 in 4 buyers of V Rising came back to play the game in 1.0. It means that 3 out of 4 buyers either aren't good at the game, didn't enjoy the game in Early Access or don't think they'll enjoy the game right now. I think the boss fights are the weakest part of the game: they last too long (even in normal), the game offers very little flexibility for approach, for some you need a walkthrough or you are destined to fail. Despite that, I like the game, I'm currently at 350+ hours in. I had a couple of playthroughs on official servers in Early Access. For 1.0 I'm in single player and tweaking V Blood health down to something so they feel more like a Diablo 2 act boss.

Dracula is one of my favorite fights, probably second only to Valencia. It took me 2ish hours to beat him for the first time. No down time, no repairing (I brought the mats in preparation), and no blood hunting. Just 2 hours of dying and dying. If it were easier It wouldn't even make the top 10 on my list. Drac is arguably optional, the amulet is not needed and the armer definitely isnt needed. The whole point is to say I did that and nerfing him would only take away from the purpose of fighting him in the first place. 10/10 boss could be harder

However, Sometime I will duo with a random and they are FAR better than my friends and the boss dies/phases MUCH faster.

I can see how a single player may find the game a bit more grindy for research books and if you get stuck on a boss there really isnt much you can do. It really helps to understand the importance of Servants and running missions to decrease the gathering spent. I like goign to Dunley right away to get a horse but a new player wouldnt know to do that. Also until you kill Tristan the Unsullied Heart farming can be obnoxious. Great vid, I agree with everything, but the part about Dracula.. TL&DR : There is a NoHit Challenge on Brutal Dracula (Pre-Nerf) done in 6:22 and you can dodge most of Octavian's attacks by repositioning your camera and walking perpendicularly. I think - much like Battlerite - this game is supposed to be hard.. and since they removed the option to tweak bosses I've been finding it way too easy, even tried to change the server settings manually, but it ignored the string it created itself (weeird).. usually, when I see people complaining about Spongy bosses, it is not because they are Flappy Bird masters who have dominated the game and just need to wait for the boss to die, but because they get overwhelmed, use their Defensive Skills at incorrect timings and die before they can burst it down. Most boss fights feel quick to me, they are only a few minutes long.. you can even search people first-timing bosses and they take like 3~8min, of course, learning the boss takes way longer (I'd compare them to a match in an online games or a raid in an MMO).. On why I disagree that Dracula is spongy and unfair, a nice example is : Virdult has done a No-Hit Challenge on Brutal on Dracula (PRE-NERF), without being full build (he was lacking better Weapons), he DIDN'T USE COUNTERS until the last Phase of Dracula and it took 6:22.. If that is not a major git-gud, I don't know what is.. jokes aside : I'd say a boss is not unfair if someone can do a no-hit challenge without defensive skills.. Btw, you can dodge a lot of Octavians' attacks just by walking sideways (I see a lot of people spending dashes and counters), but you need to walk it perpendicularly, so you need to adjust your camera position before doing it

i'd like to see something like a halfway option? building the stations/structures (and repairing gear away from the crafting stations) requires you to have the resources on hand, but the stations themselves (smithy, furnace, papermill, etc) pull from storages within the same room. that makes it so you can't just 'emergency build' new defenses or constantly repair your gear mid defense, but crafting becomes less running around your castle to get he stuff you need. also having the stations only use storage within the room would still mean some inventory management is needed, and it also makes it so raiders have to spend more time going around to steal what they're looking for if they want more than one thing.

I have been a solo player on a duo/trio/squad server almost entirely when playing V Rising... and I can attest to the grind being just... too much. Paper grind was like 2 hours... Scroll grind was like 6 hours... then the schematic grind was like 10 hours. As you get further in the game it just becomes... too much. Having to craft my end-game set was just a chore... then with 12% durability loss per PvP death? I actually several times ended up with broken gear and having to farm resources 10-20 levels under what I should of been.... me dying as a solo can be a sentence to community service for 5-10 hours... I like that resources are everywhere, and you have to go back to previous parts of the maps because you need something... mutant greese... silk worms... etc... but as a solo this can be quite daunting... and getting excess resources just never really happens as a solo. I only have enough for what I am doing right at this moment, or maybe a few days of content and then I HAVE to go back to these areas, and I think you have to go back just a little too much. Some of the bosses are just NOT tuned correctly for solo players also... three bosses in particular stand out - Dracula, Adam and Belmont. 90% of the game is a cake walk as a solo necromancer style build but good god these guys are so hard and have so much going on that it makes it near impossible to defeat them. I tried build after build after build after build... nothing worked for me. But as SOON as I had a duo? Adam and Belmont first try. Dracula? Third try. I was banging my head against a wall... just getting more and more angry then luckily someone came along and helped. Now in this playthrough (probably my last until some more content is added) - I am doing brutal mode on a squad server with some friends I found along the way. And I am utterly bored... from a solo player who had to do everything himself and deal with challenges alone? When you are in a squad all the bosses become easy mode. They sponge up damage for me while I take none, allowing me to just unload my entire kit constantly and finishing bosses with ease. Don't get me wrong I don't think every boss is this way... but the balance is all over the place. And I totally agree that the game needs some hard tuning for both Solos and Groups. I am over 300 hours into the game and I love the game but it most definitely has flaws that could be improved... but this is easily game of the year and a survival game pulling over 300 hours out of me? 120 hours in the last two weeks? That's unheard of... and they really hit it out of the park.

(Solo) I managed to global one night and find somebody that would take a bribe to help me finish off one of the bosses, and by the time I had it low health we got 3rd partied (lol) and had to wait 5 mins for the respawn. I am enjoying looting and the thrash raiding system, basically exactly what you said is very true and I myself have had the same thoughts just have not gone too further down the rabbit hole as I'm expecting some extreme difficulty. If you are in AUS and want a chill teammate Moveit124, I would happily step in and be keen as I've been playing solo for about 8 years or so. Otherwise I'm just tending to my farm and that's about all at the moment . Peace!

About the grind for the broken armor, i agree... its too much. But about the fights as solo/Group... i found dracula much more easy SOLO as a group...
@moveit124
@moveit124 4 месяца назад
@@Criptoartificial only two mechanics are added in the group version - one is Vampiric Curse which can be cleansed if you have the jewel for it, so it basically doesnt exist... and the second is the "shadows" - wolves and dracula clone... the dracula clone basically is just every player dealing with the same mechanic as in solo, so no different just dodge it as usual. So the only new mechanic is the shadow wolves - which are easy to deal with as they are just wolves... you dodge them once by side stepping then kill them immediately. And because Dracula is chasing the furthest away player in his wolf form... and the shadow wolves go to the closer players... you have time to kill those immediately without any consequence. Having 1-3 other players who can handle the crystals floating around the room and taking aggro of dracula for a few seconds gives you SO much breathing room. And since thats all the new mechanics, the fight is near identical except you now have 2-4 players attacking dracula... instead of 1 who has to deal with every single mechanic solo - as a solo having to take out the crystals is just so difficult to manage wwith all the other things you need to dodge during second phase... and if you ignore them you become overwhelmed because there isnt enough space to fight in.

1. what holds the combat back, is the easily lost target reticle and some of the spells requiring you to move the reticle over your character to cast on yourself, or hold down right click, which makes your reticle disappear. It's fairly janky, along with not being able to see key tells because of the pure magnitude of visual clutter. The rest of your points are valid. 2. This one is 50/50. Some bosses require different builds and boring kite styles, but overall, these bosses come down to skill issue. 3. 100% let us build from chests. I'm so tired of having to pull things out of 20 different chests, and not being able to type in the number of items I need, leading me to have to return stacks to the chest or spend loads of time splitting items manually. 4. The game is very grindy, that is a fact. You will spend a lot of time farming mobs and standing around waiting to craft. As for time traveling in the early to mid game, he's spot on. Even in end game, you spend a good 30% of the game traveling, especially if you have one of the legendary necks or don't have teleport with materials turned off. 5. Dracula is doable, but he's also a big f*king off when it comes to design. If he had just a few more seconds of downtime before he jumps around and starts another attack you have to avoid, he would be just fine. 6. The comment here is pretty valid. I really have nothing to add here. 7. Whips HAVE to happen in this game. This game is brutal on PVP servers if you enter late. You will just get griefed to the point that you give up. All of this is said as 130 hour player. Overall I really like the game, but I would like to see some changes, and one major change would be how the right click movement works.

Great video! 600 hours here. A note on crafting from chests, I understand what Stunlock is thinking but it's time to update this feature. It is by FAR the most irritating issue in the game, a massive time sync but not in a good way. As a compromise they could at least allow crafting from chests directly in the categorized room. Chests in the "forge" room, "workshop", etc. What a huge quality of life feature this would be when most games in the same genre have already done this for their player base. Side note, Adam is much harder solo than Dracula personally. I killed Dracula after 9 tries, and learning his very consistent patterns. It took me 30+ tries solo with Adam because his moves are wild and have some cheap moments on top of the environmental damage - I'm not sure how people are going to do this on console 😶 Also, mid-game needs a lot of love to smooth it out and reduce drag.

For real, every bosses till lvl 60 can be killed by just Perma attacking him, no need to dodge, no need to adapt your spells/weapons... Do you guys remember the old Adam ? What I would like to see the most out of this game is a balance patch specific to solo play that switches up some of the bosses' moves, those recognized as particularly painful to deal with without a friend, with something that wouldn't be considered as frustrsting while keeping the level of challenge similar.

I’ve got 74 hours into the game. I got the platinum trophy, so I’ve pretty much did everything outside of Brutal difficulty. Let me start by saying the game is good. I do actually recommend picking it up. That being said, alot of the bosses are not great lmao. 90% of the bosses are just “bullet sponge that summons other bullet sponge adds”. There are like 3 bosses that I thought were really well done. Simon Belmont, Adam, and Dracula are all great. They are all challenging bosses without the need to flood you with trash mobs. (Dracula does have adds when you fight him with people, but they aren’t bad. I beat him solo and duo. He’s a good boss.) They feel fair and when you die it’s like “okay I see where I messed up.” Some bosses roam which does make them feel more real, but it’s terrible from a gameplay perspective. For example, Simon roams. One of the first times I fought him another boss named Vincent randomly ran into the fight (because Vincent also roams) and froze me causing me to die. It feels super cheesy when you are fighting a tough boss and then another boss/adds run in. Luckily, a couple of the roaming bosses have spots they stay at during certain times. Simon stays in a Coliseum sometimes and when you fight him there 1v1 the fight is great. Another complaint I had is item durability. If you are struggling on a boss your gear will start to break fairly quickly. Once your gear breaks you are forced to farm for like a hour + to get materials for repair in the end game. The guy in the video downplayed the travel, but there is a TON of traveling. If you play on a server that isn’t private you can’t use fast travel 90% of the time bc most valuable items can’t be teleported with.

About the build from chest thing... I have NEVER spent more than the needed time of opening the exact chest I need. There is this handy rename feature, and if you're like me and often forgetful, this makes it easy to know exactly what chest to open. I also rename all my refinery items as well. So each forge has their own purpose, the same for looms or tanners. The system is the way it is to make you engage in the game instead of just rolling with it. I am nearing the 500 hour mark, and and my only real complaint is that due to such small clan sizes, there should be some sort of alliance feature. I'm not saying this for the trade aspect because you can literally just drop things on the ground. But people from different clans can hinder eachother frequently. Trying to heal an ally intercepted by another clan to no benefit to either. Trying to hit the boss, intercepted by another clan, wasted spell or skill. There needs to be an alliance system. Otherwise playing with others outside your clan hinders both parties.

I think it's sad how many people play on PVE servers in V-Rising because of how tame the PVP mechanics are. In all honesty V-Rising PVE servers shouldn't even be a thing because PVP creates the highlights of the whole experience with truly immersive world encounters, the rest of the game feels like a yummy appetizer before the main PVP course. V-Rising is NOT Rust. All you have to lose or gain from PVP is some beans people picked from the road on their way to a boss and CLOUT. You're not gonna get ganked and you're not gonna to get raided until you're at max level and desperate for something interesting to happen. It's so easy to escape if you don't want to fight that you almost deserve the death if you die to a gank. Literally all the PVP I've engaged in was because both parties did an, "ok, let's fight" dance and 99% of the time I have died the other player just leaves my loot on the ground. I haven't had to do this but if you actually died to a gank AND the player picked up something you needed from your bag, I bet in most cases if you asked them to give your beans back they'd oblige. If you're playing PVE just give PVP a try. You'll see what I mean when I say, "it's not that bad... it's great".

To be honest, Dracula WOULD NOT have any chill…that’s why he’s Dracula. I can’t count how many times I died to him on my quest to solo him on Brutal setting…but when I did…amazing. I watched 2 different strategy videos on RU-vid and probably logged in about 4-6 hours of taking him on. The initial win is much harder than afterwards, because of the necklace you get and the last piece of the bat armor, but it was so satisfying taking him down. I take it as the ultimate challenge, but again, I love this game. I wanted a challenge. I found Solarus and Adam extremely hard on Brutal setting, but after a couple tweaks to my kit and build, I soloed both, easily. Dracula is the grand prize! To look on Steam and see the % of people that have beat Dracula is also satisfying as well…and those aren’t true true stats…how many people were “carried” by others. I’d love to know how many people have legit soloed Dracula and I bet it’s even lower. I love that. Exclusive company. But the thing is, I WANTED the challenge. I studied the RU-vid videos closely to watch how the player moved and how Dracula moved then I practiced. If it’s worth it to you, you’ll rise to the challenge. Some players are way better than others. But studying the techniques of Dracula and getting the experience made the fight amazing. Getting that W, made it worth it. I’ll give the critic a nod, because the difficulty “creep” going from Adam to Dracula is indeed insane. It’s not even worth saying that the difference in the fights shouldn’t even be compared in the same breath, but I’m happy Stunlock made it this way. Dracula is the ultimate, and it takes ultimate effort, practice and skill to beat Dracula…on Brutal. If you can’t hack it, don’t play, but don’t slam the game because you refuse or can’t complete it. Be better. If you think you can walk into the fight and breeze through it, take the game on at the cushy setting or try regular. But I’m a veteran of this game and I’ve played it since EA release, then Gloomrot and now 1.0. I love the brutal setting and again, it was worth it to me to invest in studying the strategy, changing my kit, and putting in the time and practice to finally beat him. Even now I’ll probably charge up my necklace and fight him a couple times/week to “stay fresh” in fighting him. Why? Because I love the game and I want to stay up on my skills. Don’t want to? Ok, fine, but don’t hate the game because you can’t handle the ultimate challenge. In terms of the server wiping…join a server that has no wipes. I do exclusively PVE, but I’m also on a server with no wipes, and they fully intend to do “rpg mods” in the future, so the things I plan to do on that server will hopefully last until Stunlock release more updates. I like permanence of this game, especially going through the content and fine tuning mechanics and building a splendid castle…only to lose it all on reset. Now that 1.0 is released I look forward to packing my containers full as I wait for another update. This game has such potential for more qol changes, boss fights and endless new stuff…if Stunlock is willing to explore all that. I think it would behoove them to listen to player feedback and even host a content page for the game. Does Kriig drop his helmet? Do Lurkers drop their masks? Why not add stats to the headgear like the cloaks? When will Stunlock let us run around with maybe 1 servant as a bodyguard? Oh the options, the options! What if we could have one boss-clone as a servant? (minus Dracula) Why not implement a V blood system where you actually farm V blood in the same way you collect prisoners to drain. For example, fighting Adam gives particular stat advantages when you drain him, but when it wears off, you have to fight him again…I like this idea. Also, add in particular holiday event stuff, like they did with Halloween. I’d buy the pack. Ultimately where’s an official 1.0 page that lists all the things in this game and guides? Reddit? F that. I miss the days where games actually spent the time to list “the goods” of the game, in a comprehensive way. FF XI comes to mind. Sure this isnt an MMO, but it has the potential to be even more amazing in of itself and for the players. All in all it’s taken me less than 30 days to do all the content and solo Dracula. I will continue to play and log more hours as I wait for the next thing, hoping any update isn’t tone deaf and makes things better. Gloomrot was a great improvement and 1.0 has been rewarding as far as I’m concerned. Thanks Stunlock. Thanks Legacy Gaming for your video content.

Wilfred from the server here, i've played v rising for basically 1.8k hours and its just a absolutely great game, there are issues that I do acknowledge fully but that doesn't mean that you drop 7 hours max on a game that can be as fun as this. Yes the grind is crazy, but 60% travel????? that's way crazy, mobility is crazy late game so its actually mostly combat now early on i'd say its maybe 40% travel but the rest is really just farming. Overall don't have a bad opinion on v rising unless you have 100+ hours. now I don't mean you have to play 100+ hours to rate or review it, but if you have more than 100 hours that means you've tried a good amount of everything and can put out a actually nice review

My review right now with 80 hours between EA and 1.0 would be: Love the combat, the spell combinations and the boss fight design. Grinding resources is satisfying. However the servers seem to lose a player base quickly as the people who race to endgame get bored and leave, and the more casual people leave because they cant compete with the OP end gamers. My current server is a duo pvp server that ive been on since 1.0 launch and i havent seen a single other person other than my Duo partner in the last 30 hours of play. We are both currently level 55. When i go into higher level areas all we find are half dead bases in decay. Stunlock needs to find a way to keep these servers active. I absolutely hate the inventory management system. I recently started playing No Rest For The Wicked, which like V Rising didnt have craft from storage, but within 3 weeks of launching in EA they added it. V rising had multiple years in EA, no excuse for not having it. I will finish my current run on my now dead server, but after that, i dont know if ill play it again unless they give me a reason to.

On the same page with the wiping, however I think they could provide the ability for people on the server to download the save for a day or two after the wipe so that people can archive things themselves. I would also like to see something like a permanent cosmetic reward or something for the the clan / players that performed the best in a prior wipe, could even tie it in with a special 'Final seige' event or something whereby its like a battle royal, last castle standing wins and its a mix of defending while also trying to siege down your opponents castles maybe have something like an increasing blood essence drain rate forcing people to head out to get more essence / use the stockpile, perhaps even increase the level and power of the mobs too, and maybe make them able to attack castle walls etc.

2,800hrs here, on and off… played this since first early access release. Honestly can’t find another game as fun and addictive as this. The wipes never get old, castle designs change and PvP combat combos change. To those who are having issues with research, remember the paper press and vendors are your friends :) My biggest feedback for this game is the amount of zergs roaming on official servers. There’s not been a single server where there isn’t multiple clans of 4, roaming around protecting each other and out hunting anyone who aren’t their friends. How can you expect end game to have a fun PvP battle for the shards/stigian when it’s a clan of 4 vs 2-3 clans of 4 clearing the area together sitting on discord together sandwiching the team trying to contest? At this point it isn’t even skill based, they just win with numbers. Then tries to justify themselves by calling even more friends to join because the server decided to group together to fight(Zerg) back. To the point the server cap 60/60 filled with zergers. Kills the server then calls the game dead lol Honestly shoutout to those solo players out there who is at end game and not giving up when constantly fighting multiple gangs when trying to farm some mats. Private servers with active admins and rules against teaming is prob the only way to really enjoy the game to its full potential.

Combat great, but not for solo/singleplayer experience. Later bosses just start doing too much damage and spamming egregiously wide reaching abilities, or just stunlock you. I was having a good time up until maybe the last 4-5 bosses, got frustrated (General Valencia is AWFUL), turned down the difficulty and boosted the damage. Some bosses still just nuked me, and the firstborn guy was insanely ridiculous to the point I console commanded them down because it felt like that one REQUIRED a party+ to defeat in any reasonable way. But the holy paladin, chimera thing, and cursed forest bosses were EZ PZ, and I fought them BEFORE I boosted my abilities. Dracula was meh, there was like zero buildup. Once you beat him you got an amulet, unlock chest armors, and a massive throne that doesn't do anything but let you sit... and I instantly realized there was nothing else to do, and put the game down. The game really falters towards the end.

0:42 3hrs is not enough to figure out if the game is good? If the game isn't catching you from the start, There are two possible conclusions to draw. First is the game doesn't align with the interests of the player. Second, and quite a common one at that, the game was designed poorly. A well designed game should from the beginning be designed to hook a player, and keep them engaged throughout at the very least until the player has experienced all there is. Going to state that Steam doesn't have a review system. It has a recommendation system. Completely different function, but people aren't smart enough to know this. A review may include a recommendation, but does not have to, and same vice versa. I am aware steam doesn't seem to understand the difference either by referring to both as the same thing. There is issue with Steam's recommendation system. Who is the recommendation targeting? All games would by a positive recommendation if the the person leaving the recommendation directs it towards the niche that enjoys this kind of game. Naturally, a 'Not Recommended' would be true for anyone who doesn't like that particular type of game. These aren't reviews, nor are they a person's opinion of the game for themself. It's similar to the like/dislike buttons on videos. Is the person liking that the content creator is providing entertainment/information, or are they a psychopath who enjoys the suffering of others (for example stories about real life victims who have suffered horrific situations). I did find one reccomendation whcih was pretty interesting. "The grind in this game reminds me I have a life". I heard this game had an adjustable setting to reduce grind, but then I'm not sure what kind of grind they were referring to.

I think the game is designed well, but boss fights are very frustrating and that affects mental health - anybody who isn't an emotional masochist will be discouraged from playing by experiencing repeat failure. There are a couple of infamous bosses that pretty much require a walkthrough and a specific build or you are fucked. A lot of your precious spells are useless or do not apply secondary effects due to boss immunities. You either go with bow, crossbow or pistols for most of the boss fights or you don't have enough range to avoid damage and can't get in range fast enough to dish out damage.

Otherwise, the game is excellent. The rift system is great, and I wish they add more like it in the future. All the bosses are very well made and the progression is smooth and well-polished. That being said it's a one-time purchase, so I guess we have to be content with the limited content.

You are bound to use one CD and leave yourself open to another attack, or have a teammate accidentally bump a curse on you etc etc. 3/4 of the way through though, we made the comment that it was good that he was this hard. Why else would I be grinding all this gear? It would suck if we got to the summit, and the king of vamps, who we only have a fraction of his bloodline... just got stomped? It was a fight worth the time, and the win made it feel worth it. Don't nerf it imo. Gamers need the friction these days.

The real game starts when you unlock Radium Alloy, resource onwards start to get demanding, forcing you to travel to multiple regions to get a specific item to craft something, took me 18 hours of gameplay to finish Act 4 starter armor set on normal difficulty END GAME ITEMS are RNG-based meaning stats are distributed randomly this is for PVP balancing but in PVE it is dogshit

Tbh, I even think 3 months per wipe is too long. I joined a 40+ player pvp (brutal) server about a week ago, and people have already left. We're like 10 people most nights now. I think people get discouraged and leave, if they feel they're too far behind.

I think at the main core of a lot of these issues is that the game at default is set to server difficulty and grind where a solo will find it extreme teadiousness for a group its about at the limit where it starts to get really boring unless you have someone deep into the base management side of the gameplay. unfortunately the people who got trained by the soulslike git good and you only really beat the game if you played on hard mentality of gaming along with the refusing to tweak the settings for fear of removing all challenge hurts this game because even these negatives can be removed by out of gameplay settings and mods the game would suffer less by having in world ways to turn off teleport restrictions and add build from chest, resource multiplier and production reduction based on how many people are part of your group, its all quality of life that might take some research to get the settings right but it would be great for quality of life without putting it on the play to mod that in

Regarding the auto-craft from chests.. I do see the "abuse" potential in pvp etc. But it would be so much easier if they atleast made it so the crafting is done auto from chests in the same room. Or if you could "LINK" say 5 chests to a crafting station. That way you wont need to spend 20hours just moving items and fast dumping to go out and play more. I do agree that the "moving" items from X-Y-Z within your own base is not that "fun". Also if you have lowkey forgotten in what chest you did put that one thing. Still loving the game.

People complaining about difficulty, meanwhile brutal is like a casual semi-easy mode in current state, if some1 thinks otherwise, it means he simply has no experience with difficult games. Atm Me and my buddy are on the second attempt of duo brutal... with V-blood 300% dmg settings and 200% hp (mobs 150% dmg and 200 hp) and only then did the game start to become enjoyable. I'm running the Solo at the same time with the same settings, and it's running smoothly. People, learn to play please and stop crying that easy games are "hard".

These are just PvE noob reviews, who cares, majority players are PvPers and here's an actual genuine feedback on V rising's PvP from my steam review: Rust meets World of Warcraft. Here's how a ''skilled'' V rising PvP'ers day goes: - start on server launch - grind for minimum 12 hours - sleep for maximum 6 hours - wake up and keep grinding till you get best gear/soulshards - stomp anyone else trying to reach best gear (camp mortium zone/events) Getting ahead of everyone else in gear/weapons/general progression gives insane PvP advantage. Imagine if in Rust, once you got AK and metal armor - nothing below this tier could kill you anymore. Your skill in V rising's PvP servers only matter on how good you can minmax/speedrun progression and how little you can afford to sleep vs play.

I understand why people play this as a single player game, but man a tiny bit of research would clue you into the fact it really isn't intended to be one. This is a pretty hardcore PvP game at heart and the people who play multiplayer PvE, and to an even greater extent the people who play offline solo, are really just getting the "liminal space" version of V Rising.

i feel like alot of the negative reviews come in from players with pre conceived notions on how the game is going to play, they come in with expectations, especially from other games. while the game CAN be played solo, it feels like the experience differs greatly when you play it with friends.

Dracula is perfectly fine the way he is. I play solo and grinded for a build that would work against him. I went through a few interactions to find what works with the way I play. Honestly the only thing I would say sucks is the stupid rift grinds. I mean Jesus they are not up often enough. You barely get any greater shards. It’s just a terrible grind to try and hope to get a chance at trying one of the legendary weapons. You try and edit the settings for rift times in your game and it breaks them. That’s my only issue.

Ive got 1,111.30 hours on this game, and I do enjoy it a lot, but I agree that halfway through the game the grinding for schematics is getting a bit boring. I do use vendors and buy books, but there are many people in the official servers doing the same thing. All I can say is, I highly recommend hosting your own server with friends who enjoy the game, it would probably work better. I do love that now you are able to fly with the resources you cannot teleport with, that alone cut the travel time in half since you fly faster than you run lol I havent gotten to dracula yet, because im trying to pace myself, because I dont want finish the game already, but Ive heard awful things regarding his fight. The new zone isnt bad, but it can def use some work.

the game is good but on a pvp server it left us rather burnt out very quickly, despite being a huge fan of the game. there is soo much grind and not much action! playing on a full pvp server (in fact the most popular and even a 2x!!!! that has 0 space to build after day one) People dont leave their castles often enough or just run from pvp/hide. There arent any events until the very late game, so for us, the majority of the game was just spent grinding for mats and upgrades for an entire week (on holliday, so we spent about 10-15 hours of play per day), without much action. Ontop of that, the game is NOT tuned for PVP fights. most servers get around that by introducing weird pvp rules but in my oppinion they ruin pvp even more. Bullying lowlevels who cant fight back doesnt feel fun, but armor in the later levels is so imbalanced that for example a level 91 can absolutely SHRED an 83 without the 83 being able to do ANY damage. So that leaves you being unable to pvp most encounters in the game because the levelrangers make it impossible mostt of the time for either party. The pvp aspect in this game is heavily undeercooked. The entire raid aspect too. Don't get me started on shardholders. Shardholders without any leveladvantage do so much damage, its not even funny. Now take four of them and now take those four and have them just 6 levels on your group each. You will just sit in your castle and watch them take everything. I remember literally laughing out lout in discord, because I had the highest damage ultimate equiped (520% or so - that Static dash n slash (yellow)) and that guy ate the entire ult standing still, with only taking 1pixel in damage on his bar. There is no counterplay. No nothing you can do. Shards should either not be in the game or obtainable by everyone. Its literally just a way for nolifers to bully the server. Good on paper and very excusable with yeah but you can also obtain them, but no, thats not true. First come first server, unlike with everything else in the game.

Really honest and professional review here man! anybody would think your getting paid for this ! xD I so far have 45 hours in V rising, most of them building a sweet castle, it definitely has slowed down, and the numbers have thinned out right now after 1.0 release, but overall it's been better than most games, I would give it a solid 8.5/10 and and extra 1 point if you have a sqaud, because it is tough solo on basebuilding/survival games if you know your not going to be there tomorrow, but the no raid servers have already been catered to, Overall a pretty good gaming experiance.

Review 2 has definitely gotten stuck in the Level 53 weird yeti thing boss I can tell lol. I get the frustration of facing those bosses that wander around in side roads, especially because of the lack of space and the fact that if you move away off their wandering route while fighting them, they reset, and some of them get a bit unfair in terms of CC and amount of projectiles and mobs they summon once you dig deeper through act 2 and onward. However that for me has been nothing but a plus as I love challenges and this game definitely delivers in that department especially if you go solo, which is the way I prefer to play so far. But complaining about having to craft things in a survival crafting game? Bro has been playing the wrong game for him for 48 hours lol.

I feel that your experience was more colored by the server and pvp experience. I personally would give the game a 3 or so as a solo player that only had a world active when I was playing. This game is great when it’s great for sure but unless you play on a dedicated server then even with tweaks there are some timers that are annoyingly long and design decisions that are clearly designed with pvp or persistent worlds in mind. Loved the game when it was good but there needs to be more settings around servant times and shard decay rate to support smaller and host only groups

I'm going to be blunt with you man, when people make this kind of video to defend a game or a product, it weirds me out a lot. I don't understand how people can become so attached to a product that it somehow becomes part of their personality and when someone does not like it they feel like it's an attack on themselves. V Rising is an alright game but it does have flaws. It does feel like a first game for a studio because some mistakes have been made and that's alright. It's okay if people don't like this game for whatever reason. You'll be fine.

well I have one complaint until I sorted it out... playing on a gaming laptop so in terms of specs I have way and above what is needed to run the game, HOWEVER! there is a big BUT here and its that unless you overclock your GPU you will probably have the game stuttering like hell, I seen many complaints of such and not on old hardware or mid tier(cause there are some of those too out there) but rather on machines with beefy 4070/4090 RTX 32-64 RAM and CPU i7 or i9, I also fell into that category and had to overclock my GPU in order to even play it smoothly, and we are not talking something major but rather the sort of micro stutter or jagged lagging that annoys you through out your entire gameplay. I played with the settings for almost the entierty of my 72hr of gameplay until I figured out I needed to overclock my GPU to have a smooth playing experience, like imagine running V-rising on low with a 4070 RTX and Intel i9 CPU, its beyond frustrating given the sum you threw at the machine. and no, its not because its a laptop(unless you bought those thin ones which didnt account for cooling accurately and overheats which I didnt), anyway for that I rated the game 6/10 because the settings options does little to improve the performance unless you overclock or at least that was the case for me. Edit P.S: About the wiping since I still didnt finish the game, bought it recently and after overclocking im having fun, in regards to wiping the servers... this makes this a speedrun game when its online essentially and I just had to say that, hopefully Stunlock will make new maps so that people will have more options to experience new things, but ya, nothing wrong about wipes, players are doing the same thing when they beat the game solo, at least im planning to in order to get good, cause at the moment.. I can only use like 2 weapons when fighting and im bad at dodging lol

60% is not a bad percentage to assign to traveling the map... Also, my biggest gripe as a solo player is that some bosses have 2 or 3 attacks in a row you have to dodge, but you have an 8-second cooldown. Getting frozen or stunned in 1 hit just to let the boss unload on you is ridiculous, especially when they hit WAY harder than you do. All made worse by the power sliders not doing a damn thing. To be clear, I dont want to make the game crazy easy, but if I could adjust the difficulty to my preference like the sliders give the impression you can, would do a lot of good.

I don't think you're meant to dodge every mechanic with space bar. It should be reserved as an "oh shit" button. You can get the same effect with careful positioning, simply slotting a shield or counter spell, or clever use of invulnerability like the Slasher Q and Pistols E.

I beat Drac on brutal solo and I think he is easier alone, because there is no Vampiric Curse to deal with. I like phase 1 and 2, while phase 3 is more a stupid dps-check and phase 4 is plain stupid. There is 1 boss i never liked, not on brutal and not on normal and this boss is Adam. Some of the negative reviews never found the "auto-move" button, nor understanding server settings, servants and many other mechanics from this game.

I don't agree with the issue of boss designs. Dracula is an aspirational boss for everybody and is supposed to be hard. Of course not everybody will take him down (and I for one might actually never kill him because of skill), but I don't mind. I enjoy the rest of the game at my level. Having a very hard boss is great for those very good players who want to challenge themselves

I think one star is too harsh. Too many gamers these days see games as all or nothing, it's either a 5 star or 1 star. V Rising is a good game, that can use some balancing in some areas. But, I couldn't consider myself honest and give it 1 star.

gotta disagree on the dracula topic. I did him solo on brutal took me a total of 1,5 hours (while adam took me over 5). you require a more defensive aproach and swapping of spells for each phase. almost all hits are shield/counter able so just take time to learn the attacks and you are golden.

I don't know where this opinion that Dracula is insanely hard solo came from lol He's bar none easier than Adam simply because his arena isn't anywhere near as bad as Adams. 630+ hours. I see people coming to the game with very different hopes for what the game will bring them. In one end we have the people looking for a survival & base building something alike Minecraft creative mode & in the other end we have the people looking for impossible pvp & boss battles. I do think "normal" mode only applies to group play only. Because in a group you can get somewhat carried by your friends & your weapon & skills/playstyle is less importent. But as a solo you quickly notice that "normal" actually means "very hard" and requires you to play in a certain way using certain weapons & skills as you (usually) can not just fall back & pop a blood rose potion or blood heal. Like a group of 3 can probably kill Voltatia in 2 minutes, but a solo player HAS to use patience, timing, certain skills, know the boss attack rotation, save your "ultimate", i mean ive never killed Voltatia solo in less than 7mins ish because a single error is "unforgivable". As a solo you need to spec into defence. Anyways, for solo players i strongly suggest the "relaxed" mode first.
