She was quite beautiful when she was younger. It's heartbreaking that she struggled so much in her later years. She was one of the best and most unique actresses of her generation. Her films with Robert Altman are really worth watching, especially 3 Women. May she rest in peace.

We lost Shelly today,, I'm really saddened by this.. I admit I wasn't as boned up on most of her films,, but The Shining and specifically Shelly and Danny's characters have had a huge impact on my life. I stopped drinking on July 16 2022. I wasn't a good person when I drank. I'm almost on two years sober and me and my family are doing amazing since I quit. Pretty broken up to hear about her passing.

The fact that she got nominated for worst actress is insane, her performance in the shining is probably the best acting in a film I’ve ever seen. She was Kubrick’s gem and the fact that he treated her so poorly is crazy. The movie would have not been what it was if it weren’t for her portrayal. I love what a gentle yet strong soul she seemed to have. I know she didn’t go unscathed by all the hardship she faced, but who would.

I can sense her loyalty to herself through all the pain and suffering in the Dr. Phil interview. She had to cope with extremely pain throughout the post-years of the Shining shooting, but I can sense how brave and strong she actually was by that time with Phil, and how the love she had for herself made her prevail from the mental craziness she had to deal for years. Fly high Shelley, your integrity is remarkable of a story of a brave woman who dealt and succeed with life pain no matter what. Shelly Duvall is one of those celebrities that I regret not trying to contact - and thanking her for being a great human being - there are so many fine people in the world that I wish I'd taken the chance or the time to tell them how beloved and appreciated they are. This woman is one of them, Kubrick about destroyed her for that film. I wish she'd known that America was beside her, behind her, supported her, loved her, and would've adopted her. As gifted as King is as a writer, he can often be very crude and insensitive. Shelley Duval was amazing in the role as Wendy Torrance. Her range of acting abilities were all showcased in that movie, and for King to say all she did was "scream and act stupid" was totally uncalled-for. May Shelley rest in peace. She left behind many who truly appreciated her talent and her work.

King's characters in that trash book were zero dimensional cliches & very boring. It is one of the worst books I've ever read.

She was a great actress. Rest in peace dear. Side note, Doctor Phil is a horrible person who has exploited people for years for his show with his pseudo-therapy BS. He's not even a doctor. But he sure is a skilled scam artist...
