There were plenty of black slave owners back then,but,what astounds me is I'm surprised the wht people of that era let black men own anything at all,even slaves. Who were very valuable at that time.

not according to wikipedia as referenced in "The Journal of African-American History" published by Association for the Study of African American Life and History, University of Chicago Press I didn't believe it either, so instead of looking foolish and calling them liars, I looked it up
