The votes are in and the winner is...the Train Room walkabout! This week we will take some time to hang out and explore the train room. Enjoy! Social Media: / rbptrains
Yes I do agree there's something about just watching the trains going around doing their things that social relaxes you and destress you from your day at work thanks for the tour
Excellent video, Chris! It’s great to see your entire train room. Also, huge shout-out from my young sons who were excited to see Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel on your layout!
Been subscribed for a while. This randomly popped up. Super fun to see how your room is set up. Concur with couch setup. After all, train running is grueling at times. Have to say your layout and videos are very well done. Encouraging to see younger peeps into this hobby. Looking forward to your next.
Chris, I’m envious of your neat train room and nicely scenic’d layout. I need to take what you’ve accomplished as motivation to pick up my layout and put some scenery and buildings down.
Hi Chris! I very much appreciate the video showing your room. Your room looks very comfortable and your layout is gorgeous. It’s nice to see the angle’s we don’t normally see. I always enjoy your videos and man what a great collection! The train shelves for storage is an excellent idea. Keep Em coming Chris!
Watching trains go bye is really relaxing true, but the sound can get you tired sometimes hehe. I see myself having a model railroad like this one, but with a big central station with express, local & freight trains arriving. ☺
This is the first time I have heard of MPC trains. I just got into the o gauge hobby a 1 1/2 years ago. Thanks for showing your layout. Just became a subscriber. Layout looks great
I will for sure. Working on getting anyrail software set up on labtops and making my plans!!!! And thank u for all ur help and ideas it is very helpful!!!!!
Great 👍👍👍👍👍video! Love watching your trains! Really like your layout! It's well balanced and although it's busy with different features and structures, it has a feeling of airness to it, if I may say so. You can see all the action at a glance which is kinda the point. Can I ask approximately how much 💵💵💵 do you think your layout cost to make? Ballpark. I don't need an exact dollar amount. I'm thinking table materials, track, switches, buildings, bridges, wiring, controllers, command systems, Lionel tmcc remote controllers? Did I miss anything? I'm just getting into the hobby and learning... Thanks and all the best! Looking forward to your next videos.
Chris I loved this video! I always thought I was missing something in your train room because I couldn't see end to end. don't know how I missed this one, haha.
Great collection and running session Chris! Love seeing your layout and train room in more detail! Would love to see that Polar Express run around haha!
Chris , What I enjoy most about your videos is your manner of presentation. Joyfull and fun filled . Your voice is like music ! You should be in show biz!
Great tour showing different views my friend. I had to bury my mother earlier this week and seeing a new video brought back a bit of normalcy for me. This made my day. 5 Star top notch as always
So sorry to hear about your mother. I am glad you were able to find comfort here. I lost my grandmother last week and have found so much peace with this community. Take care
@@RBPTrains Condolences to you and your family. I have definitely found solace with this channel and community as well. I am looking to start running my trains again this coming week.
Excellent. As always. Oh and great shirt! LOL. Seeing the full room gives me more ideas of how I can do mine. Like your room mine is long and narrow. I wanna guess 12x28ish. What I don’t have is the windows as you do. Mine was originally designed as an entertainment viewing room so it artificial lighting only. That can work well too if done correctly, I hope. We need to discuss the “Power Distribution Center” you have and how it functions. I’m getting excited, my custom shelving is being constructed now and the finishing is beginning this week coming up then the cabinets will be delivered and installed. Once that’s done the shelves will be cut and finished then delivered. The guy who is building them is a retired master craftsman and his workshop is small for the job so “bits and bobs” as the Brits would say. Then I’m on to getting everything in a database and stored and the train room layout can begin. Just so you know I’ll be picking your brain after that happen. LOL. Ok my friend, great vid as always and have a great week. Oh and I will get an email to you about the Nichols Smith purchase/delivery and what precipitated that visit. It’s been a long few weeks. Take care Chris! Tim
I have got to say, even being an HO scaler did not stop me from thoroughly enjoying this video. Now, I'd still love to see the Lego when you get a chance...
I'm rewatching this video... Maybe since you are now on the cover of Classic Toy Trains (congratulations) that you could do a little update on your layout? Maybe show any new additions...
Glad to be back, my computer crashed last week and I had to re add everything I had on the computer. Some new passwords and the like. I have now written down every id and password to make it easier next time if it happens. But enough of me , I liked this video looking around your train room, very cool.love those BNSF ENGINES that were running. Have a great week.
Thanks Jayme! The benchwork was built by a friend of mine who does woodworking for a hobby. He brought the vision to life. I have so much respect for the process and detail of the benchwork after watching it all come together. Thanks again for watching!
Hahaha! Thanks Matt! I still think it’s awesome that we both picked BNSF engines this week. My local shop has some of those units in multiple road numbers…I might have to give them a look
Your lay out is amazing, great collection of trains. I am just starting a lay out, can you inform me what radius curve you used on elevated track with the double track bridge? Thanks and keep the videos coming.
I haven't caught up on all your videos yet, but can you go over what the radii curves you used? I have a similar sized basement, and am trying to find trck plan that I can still run the few O72 engines I have. Thx in advance.
@@RBPTrains Was so much fun for sure! Was definitely a throwback to my wooden trains. Tomorrow I’ll be at the Northern Central RR filming York 17 going through the Howard tunnel.
I would run a maintenance line over to your workstation. That way you can just run or pull a locomotive over there without having to lift it and possibly damage it.
At least Miley didn’t “come in like a wrecking ball”! I’m amazed that you have nothing under the layout. I’d bet your garage has nothing on the floor either!
Lots of good starter sets out there. My personal pick would be a Lionchief Santa Fe set or similar. Most starter sets have Fastrack. You can always add more track or purchase different track if you do not prefer the Fastrack.
My kids play under the table all the time so I am holding off on building any shelves that go under the layout for now. I will add them once the kiddos are grown.
Can you share detail on you B&O American 855 steam engine? I want one but don’t know manufacturer ot how to search for it. Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Absolutely! This is a MTH Premier model and was offered with a matching set of passenger cars. I need to dig out the box to find the model number. I have seen some of these floating around online. I will post back here once I find the model number. Thanks again!
Great question! My older ones are not as into the layout operation but love the scenery and creative aspects. My youngest is still my train buddy and can actually operate the whole thing. I am sure yours will love the Hobby in her own way. It is so much fun to share it with them
Luckily none so far! I have had some MTH engines that needed a quick reset and re-programming from time to time but that is about it. I have only had two true repairs and both of them were manufacturing problems out of the box.
thats weird first thomas goes clock wise then changes to anti clock wise then back to clock wise then anti clock wise poor thomas dont know if here coming or going
Good catch, haha! I edited this video over two days. I took Thomas off the track for some reason and reversed the loop. During editing I must have bounced the clips. Luckily Thomas made it to his destination with no confusion or delay!
