Great deduction, I remember it well too and especially, my HS parking lot with the muscle cars ❤. Loved dancing at live rock ‘n’ roll & disco venues and styling in our platforms-bell bottoms-etc, etc, etc, ha! 😅
Great time Drake with so much fantastic music about ...... no PC crap and you could openly say what you wanted without being accused of something ...... the night clubs or DISCOS as we called them were brilliant. UK
@@addie9341 Can we for once stop thinking about racism and have a good time. That's the problem with this generation and I'm ashamed to be born in this generation. I wish I was born back then when people were having a good time.
Most of us would dance all night long, drink all night long, and not have a weight problem.....A good DJ could have you on the dance floor for over a half hour.......Thanks for the memories !!
I wish I could go back in time and do these things again. I will always remember the 1970's. We had some good times back then. The clothes, the music, the parties.😁
@@SAJWS It sucked to see Disco get ruined by record labels by the end of the 70s that put disco on anything they wanted to sell regardless if it was good or not. Nevertheless the death of disco paved the wave for the newer generation of dance music which would incorporate electrical instruments like the upcoming rise of Italo Disco and Hi-Nrg with the latter considered the direct followup to Disco in the 80s. The 80s imo was greatest decade of edm music to give birth to many genres like House,Techno,New Wave, etc and many artist Like the Pet Shop Boys, Bobby Orlando, Patrick Cowley kept the spirit of Disco alive in a way which dominated the dance scene. Disco’s four on the floor is so addictive that many songs still use the basic beat pattern and edm is one of the biggest genres of music in the world. Crazy how one genre lead to an entire culture of musicians and listeners to come together from all parts of the world and dance along.
@@tomasacevedo3932 I still listen to 70's funk and disco every day. There is no better music to lift my mood, make me smile and i I can't stop my body from wanting to dance 💜🙏
I love disco. But that’s the super thing about the 70s because you had all kinds of music you could enjoy. Disco, hard rock, and then you had the singers & song writers like John Denver, James Taylor. Something for everyone.😌
If you cannot dance to this music...you just can't dance. Some of the best dance music of all time and they burned the records. Thank God we can watch and listen here. Thank you, from a former Dee Jay who played this music it is nice to go flash-backing on the Tube. Who is rocking this song in 2020?
There was nothing better than a disco on the weekends! I’m so glad I was alive to experience that. People these days would all be on the sidelines looking at their phones. This music was REAL! It came on and compelled you to start boogying!
If you're wondering where the clips are from...here's a list (in order): Buck Rogers in the 25th Century The Jeffersons Dallas Sanford & Son Police Woman Mork & Mindy Three's Company CHIPs That 70s Show Soul Train Saturday Night Fever
Oh what immaculate time to have lived in, the music, the parties, the clothes, THE HAIRSTYLES. I could see why there was a baby boom though, its because you guys couldn't stop pelvic thrusting! Lol
You had to be there! I can't put into words, the 70s, to even try to explain to younger people. Paradise to the 10th power. You wouldn't even recognize America then, especially with all those 10 year olds smoking. So much freedom.
I got back from Vietnam in 1970 and when I was stateside, I loved to dance in hotel nightclubs in Florida to these songs. The 70's were the best time in my life.
Saturday Night Fever was the best movie back in the day. Now I see a new generation like my nieces who are in their early Teens and Twenties, and they love the music and the movie. A Classic for sure.
Them brothas and sisters could cut some shapes, nice to see robin Williams RIP great tallent left us to soon. Great post thank you for sturing the blood in these old veins!!
Possibly up there with the best ever disco classic of the fantastic, superb, and undeniably sensational 1970’s and I personally am glad I was a teenager at this time and happy to appreciate what a time it was although sadly we may never see these times again. Anyhow hello from us all here in Scotland.
Loved this song for so many years. I hate it when people do a dis on Disco, you can't beat the energy and enthusiasm of the time. So many great songs and entertainers and it transcended all of society. But, I'll never forget the disco night promotion that Bill Veeck did with the Chicago White Sox. That night was insanity!!!! B.T.W. no body could cut loose like George Jefferson!!!!
Bobby Ewing out cutting a rug with a hot babe from the 70's. I do not know how anyone from that era doesn't like this music. Great beat to dance the floor with your favorite lady. Disco for Ever!!!
TRAMMMMMPS! Disco Inferno- one of the pinnacles of American culture. This music made even the avocado green and orange furniture bearable. The squared-off crappy cars, maybe not so much. Nostalgia tidal wave- great post...thanks so much!
I LOVE the first 25 seconds. That's a clip form the 80's Buck Rogers in the 25th century. He's from the 20th century (frozen) and introduces them to rock/dance music. The princess begins to dance to it never having heard it.
I hear you loud and clear, loved it too. Once, while waiting on my friends to arrive at the disco early in the evening, I danced by myself on an empty floor with people watching it felt so freeing and cool. When you “feel” the music you’ve got to “move” & dance like nobody’s looking.
As much as the internet, mobile phones etc have hugely benefitted our lives in many ways, they destroyed the movement of everybody going out to socialise with friends and meet people. The Friday night feeling of finishing work and getting dressed up and partying Friday and Saturday nights has gone. The pubs and clubs aren’t like what they were in the 70s and 80s. The music isn’t the same either. 😢
Love music so much. Helps sooth the mind. It's like our souls that play it's part of life, echoing & flying through the universe. All our colors, coloring the world with amazing sights & our sounds. The way music travels through out the world touching everyone's heart, mind & soul.
My dad was dancing back in the 80’s. If I wake up early enough he’s dancing and if I’m lucky if he sings any of the songs on karaoke he’ll dance too 😂 everything looked so fun back then
This great eerkeeper keeps in te ear ever since it was lanched back in '76... Man those where the days... Back then and even today one can't keep ones feet still while listening. Thank God I grew up in the '70's and '80's...
