The Trans Mountain Expressway El Paso, TX Loop 375 

Born and raised in ELP TX, moved to NY.. I miss the sun city and the mountains..

Definitely with you on the coolness factor. I moved from El Paso in 2002 but never stopped missing those mountains.

I use to hike those mountains in (Franklin mountains state park) the view of El Paso from above is fantastic. You can see forever!

Rewatching this, to get myself excited, as I plan on tackling this drive in about 9 days from now. Can't wait!

I loved when I was a kid and I went on long car rides through there. Tears for Fears - Head Over Heels playing on my mom's radio on that road after I saw Transformer's 3 with my uncle is one my most memorable memories.

Awesome! I drove this road for 3 years every day. Know every curve. Love driving on it every time. And road biking on it. Great vid!

I'm so ready to move back to El Paso

This video ends about 8 blocks west of where I grew up. Thanks for the ride. It has changed little over the years since I grew up there in the 70's. The place we used to pull off the road and party on Fri & Sat nights is now a picnic area (at 3:04 in the clip). Enjoyed the ride!

I lived in ELP when I was stationed at Ft. Bliss years ago... These mountains where probably the coolest thing about it... I'm back home in the Pacific NW and love it. Not being near the mountains sucks. So nice to be able to take a drive to these beautiful places. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it. :o)

Great video! You're getting out into my home terrain(the SW US). The earthwork on the east side of the hill is new since I was last there, looks like maybe they're getting ready to install cement barriers in the median to prevent crossover crashes.

Have you recorded the highway that goes to the Santa Teresa, NM Port of Entry (alternative to El Paso/Ciudad Juarez)? Its near Anthony, TX, NM. Its called the Pete Domenici Highway. I passed through there last year on my way to Mexico and it was a lot faster than going through Downtown El Paso.

I wish I could drive my BMW 335is on that!

thank you very much for posting. I lived in el paso from '96 to '02 and bike the trans mt. often. rewarding climb and descent, enchanting view. Is there any way you could repost without speeding it up?

Reminds me of the 7 Hills Road on US-322. While I realize that 322 doesn't get anywhere near that height the down hill on it is really scary because everything is built in real tight.

What are your thoughts about being stationed at Ft. Bliss? I heard the housing on post is nice. Is it relatively safe in the city?

I haven't been there for 22 years so I'm sure it's changed.. I liked it enough when I was there, but it was my first time away from home so it was new and exciting... Not much to do in El Paso, but I remember driving to underground caverns and repelling in New Mexico...THAT was a good time...as for the housing on Ft Bliss, it was nothing to brag about... Buildings seemed old and worn out but I'm sure they've updated...:o)

I'd like to know the speed you could attain if you did. I bombed it on a mountain bike and I don't believe I've since gone that fast. At one point, I felt the laws of physics took over and all bets were off. On a board would be hairy.

I think the letters on the mtn ur talking about are the ones to the south of el paso in Mexico. They read "The bible is truth. Read it."

Forgot to mention, you are minutes away from Juarez, MX.... Not a safe place to be so be careful. As for EL Paso as a whole... I couldn't say how safe it is.. Maybe there's a facebook page or go to a FT.Bliss website for details about the city. Best of luck to you!
