During lock down in Australia, which was the longest in the world I spent my time making quilts for cancer patents in our local hospital and it gave me great joy. God bless you all.

We are never alone as we always have our Father to speak to and praise. I also have my two kitties to talk to and play with. :-)

I'm 65 years old and I find myself eating alone alot so when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas I don't miss people that much for I know what the holidays are for the birth of Jesus not presents or food it's about Jesus.

I wish you well. I have a suspicion that there are many alone & lonely ppl. Like the woman notes, it is something ppl don't want to tell others. I would say that is because of the various reasons, judgements and accusation ppl will put forth such as quit whining and do something about it, you must be a weirdo, etc. How we got to this point becomes irrelevant. It is difficult to create new habits. I did make efforts throughout the years; but, those efforts did not pan out. Covid 19 interference was the last interruption. It is just up to me to do my part. I grew up in a family that moved yearly (there were two times we lived in the same place for 2 years). There were some years where isolation was not a problem; but, except for 5 years, those years included extreme & horrible circumstances. So, somewhere in my mid 50s, I decided to accept being alone was just to meant to be. I have since abandoned that capitulation. 67 now & retired going on three years. I have yet to make transitions to alleviate isolation with the exception of traveling several states away to visit family once a year. I have several plans which is on hold at the moment, one of which is due to current affairs. I love God & Jesus and am grateful for their blessings and protection.

It's hard. For me, during covid lockdown, I was alone. Certain people I knew had covid. You can only watch so much television. I put on weight and I wanted to be around others. It's getting better, but that was a hard time for me. Loneliness is something that can cause you to withdraw into yourself.

God bless you. If you are a believer, try to keep in mind that though you may feel lonely you are never along. God is always with you. I will pray for your happiness.

Guess I received both. Loneliness and bipolar depression. I struggle everyday.

When my son, only child, passed away several years ago I felt lonely. As far as my family was concerned I guess they thought I died too. Holidays would come and go and they would get together but not let me know until it was over. I could have given in to the loneliness but I was never one to do that. I was and am a survivor. When the lonely feeling would come I would say to myself, "Maybe lonely but never alone." I knew God was there always. Over time being left out has gotten easier. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up. They may all get together again and I'll be home with my little dog. On the bright side, I don't have to buy gifts, pretend to be interested in all of their chatter, or be a part of the drama.

I'm so sorry you've had to endure that. After you lose someone it seems to affect people that way. It happened to me after losing my husband, and I've seen it happen to many widows. But God really is there, and never leaves us. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. ❤

@@maryj9897 she is still with me , we just had 13 months of no contact from the courts trying thier damndest to destroy our lives .

I'm alone no kids ....I have a huge loving family ....I have my love for them we check on each other. I have hobbies guitar, art, I like to work. I help others. Hard to be alone with my loving family. Crazy friends lol...But yes sometimes we all have our lonely spells.
