Much needed message. Many a times we get trapped in this area. How dangerous is the trap of success. Let's be on guard and give all the Glory to God and God alone.
Funny to hear this today since yesterday I read Proverbs 29 and the word, "trap" was in the translation I was using and it really stood out to me! It's interesting that sometimes verses can be translated to mean totally different/opposite things. The verse was Proverbs 29:5 - These three translations can be interpreted differntly: New Living Translation "To flatter friends is to lay a trap for their feet" (The "their" could go either way, but, mostly it seems to imply the friend's feet) . Good News Translation If you flatter your friends, you set a trap for yourself (The flatterer hurts himself) New King James Version A man who flatters his neighbor Spreads a net for his feet. (Who is the second "his"?) Anyway, great message, thank you! flattery -- no matter how it's done, is bad news! :^)
