George looks so good in this interview. Don’t ever remember seeing him smile so much, have so much fun and seem so happy as he did during the many Wilbury interviews and videos.

Only Bob and Jeff are left. 😔 RIP Tom, Roy and George.

Without a doubt, George was playing with four guys that really appreciated him.

If there ever was a super group, this was it. Love all these guys music as a group and as individuals.

It's funny to hear George say that part of the magic was this attitude of 'we don't really give a damn' that made it fun. Ironically, all of these guys give BIG damn. They put their best efforts into these songs. It's the weight of the music business being off their backs that makes this great music possible.

I love seeing George and Tom sharing a microphone. RIP friends.

Greatest supergroup ever

As much as we can measure this band by its great sound, I love it because the members are together because they WANT TO HAVE FUN

They were just brilliant together and bucket loads of talent between them all and to have someone like roy orbison in the band was just amazing his voice was like no other, he truly was the best singer in the world.

The recording of album 1 with Roy Orbison is a good watch. All the guys looked up to Roy, couldn’t believe he was in the band…he had the biggest voice there. It must have been so sad when he passed away. And surely took the wind out of their sails for a while

I like the fact that Roy Orbison would do a vocal take, the rest of the guys chins would hit the floor. Roy would say "how was that?"

Wow, was it really THAT long ago? The first Wilbury's album (1988) came out a year after I graduated high school. Jeff is all alone now (2023) from this interview line-up! Seeing this (nice looking!) woman with her 80's hair & 'shoulder pads'. Seemed so boringly normal back then.

Vol. 3 had some good songs - Last Night, Tweeter and the Monkey Man.

Not sure who started it Col. Parker, Liz Taylor, or someone before them, but the idea that not giving interviews makes you more in demand and mysterious is sad. There are a few entertainers that have done almost no interviews, Dylan being one of them, which in the long run will be unfortunate for those interested in him years from now. Elvis did hardly any interviews, never appeared on Carson and such, but he has hundreds of videos of his performances. Elvis lives on strongly due to all of his recorded performances. I guess my point is... if you are a performer, record it and don't shy away from interviews... decades from now people will be interested.

Wasn't Del Shannon being considered to join the group after Roy's passing? There are reports that he was being considered, but unfortunately Del ended his life too soon.

It's worth noticing how slick, clever and bold the white media is in attempting to link and illustrate how these 4 white artists will 'take us back to the early roots of Rock n Roll'. False. These 4 artists certainly don't resemble the likes of Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Fats Domino, Bo Diddley, Ruth Brown, Louis Jordon, Ike Turner, Lloyd Price, Big Joe Turner etc.... And since that host felt the need to mention the word "roots" in her opening intro, allow us to remind everyone that american music forms: Spirituals, Blues, Ragtime, Jazz, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, ROCK N ROLL, R&B, Doo-Wop, Soul, Funk, Punk Rock, Disco, House and of course Rap and Hip Hop---all enjoy well documented African American roots coupled with undeniable African American influence. Don't get it twisted.

The first album was great, the songwriting was far better. The second album was lousy, it sounded forced and the songs were not as good by a country mile.

Tom petty is a nobody and so is jeff ....dylan isnt particularly that good either...his singing is awful but his song writing is a bit better but nothing more than average....roy and george are the best 2.

Love the band, great job without a bass guitar or a drummer, only 5 or 4 guitars, and singers!!
