Spoiler alert! After the recording session I took a look at the campaign script. It seems there is an event that signals the end of the kinslaying, but it requires us to hold Mithlond to trigger. From a roleplay perspective, we'll just pretend Mithlond is currently being held by Elrond loyalists who are too bitter to accept the end of the war. I'll try to buy Mithlond from the dwarves next recording, or take it by force :-). Have a great day!
Letting Sauron get the ring sounds fun for two reasons: 1. It rarely happens. 2. I don't think there will be any further challenge in this campaign, otherwise. If you want to justify it in-game, you could always try to explain it as your own "Fellowship" adventure, but they don't succeed.
Actually in AGO under which this mod is running, it happens quite often. Ring script there is modified as if a faciton allied to Mordor gets the ring, it is transferred to Sauron after a few turns.Therefore, in most of my campaigns in AGO Mordor got the ring and quite soon, often before turn 100. Also in my Mordor campaign I got the ring for free since DG found it and I had Sauron like turn 70 or something.
you could justify it with a failed fellowship I think thats a good idea and if you choose to do it that way you should wait until you get Elrond as a general and give the ring to him. He would convince you that he is the right person for the job since he has been to mordor before and knows the way and you could also say that he also wants to prove his loyalty to you. You would give him a proper army march him down straight to the Black Gate. Elrond would argue he chose this path since last time he was fighting down there he did the same thing and it worked. After taking the gate he would have a couple more fights inside mordor until his troops would be depleted and in a final battle against maybe a nazgul he would fall and the ring would go to Sauron (or if he dies to a basic general you could say he was tired from the civil war).I think this would be a cool loore for Sauron gaining the ring and not just simply handing it to him.

It was a good one, that brought Galadriel to your side - remember that you have a spy in Maethelburg, get him out so that you can use him in scouting missions. I do not agree with the continuation of the war against the Dunedain and the other former allies, you already have the best of the territory you can. Now, after you end the script with Mithlond (I saw your note), it's better to end the wars and concentrate to your economy Reestablish your relations with the other people of Eriador, finish Angmar and retrain your troops, who now need to concentrate on the war against Mordor. This is the war that matters, your job now is to destroy Sauron and for this you'll need everything you can assemble. I totally disagree with letting Sauron have the One, your job is to simply destroy the One, not give it to Sauron! I know it will spice the game up, but it's not my preference. Watch the road of the Ringbearer, maybe give the One to Maernil - it also fits with my story... - and then, on to the end game. Now, let's add another episode in our story: Eruairion got close to Limhir and he was surprised that the Silvan guards let him in. As he was guided towards the tower of the city, he noticed that the Elfs of Lothlorien were preparing for war. In the stairs, Haldir himself was there to greet him. And Eruairion was surprised by his warm welcome. "I know you didn't expect it", Haldir told him as they were walking together to the big room. "But Lady Galadriel is so furious, that we cannot hold her anymore. This war ruined us all. I hope you come by with a peace proposition". "I have come with this intention", Eruiairion said. "The King doesn't want to intervene with the Silvan Elfs and the Kingdoms of the Woods. He keeps his distance and he concentrates to the war with Mordor. He intends to hand over Maethelburg to Lothlorien, in exchange for an alliance". "That is good to hear", an emotionless Haldir was heard. "But it's not up to me, but to Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. They are here and I have to host them". Eruairion preferred not to speak. But when he repeated the proposition in front of Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn, he sensed immediately a big tension between them. Celeborn preferred not to speak immediately and Galadriel started to get nervous. "I accept", he finally said. "But don't ask me for anything else". Eruairion simply nodded with respect. "Now, tell me something", Galadirel intervened. "I sent Daumgarthol with 2000 Silvan archers south to Edraicharn, but they said that he went instead in Khazad-dum to attack Ost-in-Edhil. Did he pass the gates of Durin?". "No, my Lady", Eruairion said. "There was no Elf from Lothlorien among those who opposed the King. Only some from the Woodland Realm, that surrendered in Litash. Crown Prince Ecthellion preferred to give them way to return, at least those who survived the battles". "Orthonion", Galadriel said with a desperate note. "And I told him NOT TO INTERVENE! Why no one hears me?". She left furious, with her hands shaking violently and speaking in a strange language. She sent off her maidens and they stood there silent and depressed. Celeborn and Haldir simply moved their bodies. Haldir turned to Eruairion with an apologetic tone, but Eruairion stopped him with his hand on the shoulder. "She spoke in Quenya", the diplomat said. "Please, tell her that King Thranduil is not considered guilty of any sort of crime against the King. And the High King prevents strongly any retaliation against any of the Silvan realms and prohibits any action against them". "That's very relieving to hear", Celeborn said, with Haldir having a similar expression. "I hope that the King doesn't want to continue this meaningless war. The whole of Noldor is now united, we have our alliance and we know for sure that the Dunedain, Bree, Khazad-dum and Ered Luin don't want the war anymore. It's time to turn our weapons to Sauron". "Not yet", Eruairion said. "Lord Ancalagon wanted me to tell this, because these are his exact words. He made an investigation about what happened to Balin and High King Aragorn. We were told that their tombs were discovered and our agents recognised their bodies". Both Celeborn and Haldir looked so pale.. And Galadriel turned fearful to the room and stood by the door she had left previously. "Lord Ancalagon fears of assassins", Eruairion continued. "We need to discover who and why. But from the very first inquiries, we think that it is the Hasharii, as some notorious names are said to have entered Eriador and try to make a circle around us. High King Maernil has doubled the guards and the patrols in our borders, but we cannot be sure yet - not until Lord Ancalagon's inquiries are finished". "I have heard that Lord Glorfindel and Lord Cirdan fell in the battle", Galadriel said. "That's not true", Eruairion answered. "In fact, Lady Areiniel discovered that they were poisoned with a special poison named ¨Erystach¨, that is sad to have been created by Sauron himself and its aim is to target those of Noldo blood. The High King reacted immediately and sent them back to Valinor with a White Ship, so as to find cure. We don't know what the Valar will decide, but we hope that they will find peace. Lady Areiniel is now besides Durion, as he was recalled back to Imladris". "I understand wel", Galadriel said after a minute, stopping with her hand Celeborn from speaking. "It is also said that Elfs from Lorien are said to have attacked Glorfindel and the Dwarfs of Ered Luin are said to have Mithlond. Is that true?". "We have no information about Mithlond's fate after Cirdan", Eruairion said. "High King Maernil has sent an army to secure the situation and discoveer what happened inside. We will also make contact with Clanlord Gor - though there are rumours that he is also dead. The Dwarfs refuse to make contact with us because they believe that the Clanlord is dead, the second Dwarf lord after Balin, and this situation is still under investigation". "I see", Galadriel said. "Don't say anything more. You have your alliance, you need to go now". Eruairion was clever enough to bow and leave. But he also noticed that Haldir himself, along with two of his bodyguards, were alongside him and their manners were very good. As Lord Ancalagon had foreseen.
I absolutely love your videos and have been watching them for years now. The last few have been CRAZY and I just couldn't wait until they dropped, you didn't disappoint! As to what you should do with the ring, I've seen a comment saying that you should consider the arrogance of the Feanorian line but at the same time, whilst Feanor would have indeed kept the ring, Maernil is not like him. Maernil successfully led the elves to battle and proved his worth against the line of Fingolfin. Thus, he was also demonstrably more capable and more wise than Feanor in his reluctance to execute Elrond, Elladan and Elrohir, Gildor etc... Long story short, the ring should 'find its way to Mordor' during the civil war and the absolute chaos that occurred because Maernil was not so preoccupied with its power but rather with winning the Second Kinstrife. Now he ought to face the consequence of his sacrifice in the form of a strong and mighty Mordor that profiteered and benefited from a weakened High Elven Empire. Let me know what you think and I hope you get to absolutely destroy Sauron! ... also Dornonostron would love to avenge Celembrimbor so it fits even more perfectly :) Keep up the good work, I love your channel!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Izzy! I am in favour of giving the ring to Sauron. For roleplaying it might be cool to sacrifice one of your main generals in an ill-fated attempt to destroy the ring, where vengeance takes priority over secrecy and speed. I was thinking Dornornoston could be a suitable candidate: as one of the smiths of Eregion, he has a lot of reasons to bear a hateful grudge against Sauron. But like you said, generals are valuable and and he is especially, just an idea to add more challenge into the grueling fight ahead.
After you give the ring to mordor, you will face mordor meat grindir more. Also you need to search sauron endlessly in the mordor realm (since it is stretching from harad to erebor and, rhun to heartland gondor). If you are thinking to finish the campaign with ring or fight with sauron, I prefer ring option actually :)
You should not surrender or otherwise willingly or in anyway else lose the ring to Sauron. The lore-friendly way would be that the Sons of Fëanor are so self-impressed, bordering on narcissistic, that they think they can wield it - being legendary smiths and all that jazz. As such, they should keep it until they almost by chance happen to destroy it in the fiery pits of Orodruin/Amon-Amarth.
I am against just giving up the ring. Mordor is already huge and this kind of boost (they absorb DG in AGO) will make it either impossible or a total grind to defeat. Yeah fighting Sauron would look cool but from my experience in AGO he usually bombrushes one random settlement (last time it was onodrith) and stays there. So no cinematic battle, and you would have to look for him in some far away settlements. Oh and btw in AGO Sauron is not an elite bodyguard but an elephant type unit with all the possible melee combat consequences and he has ranged attack which is more or less a close range and super accurate flame wrangler shot that one those everything in front of him.
Perhaps if you want an extra challenge you have to establish a Pax Noldori in Eriador before gathering an army to destroy the Ring; completely subjugate the whole of the North before moving out.
My idea for the campaign: Don't give the ring to sauron nor you keep it safe like you couldn't lose it. Give it to you faction leader, but him in the frontline of your armies and brace ourselves to a world conquest(or to the point you get bored) but from a lore perspective that is more or less a continuation of the current one, a little too much of power thirst + the one ring = belive that you're the one that could save the world even if it means a lot of death and destruction. Just kill sauron and anyone who opposes you. But with that vibe of being always in the frontline feeling invincible, and for that maybe puting his life in risk and maybe in the end giving the one ring to sauron anyways. What do you think about the idea? If it's a little roleplayed and the decisions not just pure logic from a player perspective, could be interesting I think!
Oh god please tell me this won't involve giving the ring to Mordor. We _just_ spent a dozen episodes dealing with endless, frustrating levels of unfair AI garbage, and now there's someone in the comments _wanting to give the ring to one of the biggest and strongest factions._ Yeah, good fun.
Yes give sauron the ring! Barely ever happens and will be great viewing. Also once you clean up Eriador you're eco and armys will be so strong only a fully powered mordor could even begin to challenge you.
IF you decide to 'give' the ring to Mordor... I did some testing. To take down Sauron's unit, you'll need Stormguard or Gil-Galad's Company (Imladris and Mithlond) to take him down.
If your thinking of giving the ring izzy 1 i like the idea but if you want a stacked mordor kill dol guldor so you will have to fight both all 9 nazgul plus a big beefy sauron now that id pay to see the high elves fight that sense its so uncommon
Yes give ring to Sauron if you can do that and then beat him in battle,i think i never see that somebody kill Sauron in battle,i didnt even know there is a option to do that,how can you give ring to Sauron???
Also the whole world betrayed you so as far as im concerned world domination elven superiority so none may question your rule of middle earth the time of the elf is not over
The other nations were allied against us, unable to yield to our supremacy, but they were no match for us and thus, showed their lack of honour and decency: Dwarves, Elves, Rangers - enemies we had many, now void of any Bravery - if indeed they had any, these cowardly foes attacking on every side, such malice and cowardice we could not let slide, but the betrayal of our elvish brethren we least could abide, so they were the first be destroyed by our unchallenged might. Peace was made - if but for a short time, thinking we would forgive would be asinine, Many generals were deprived from going to Valinor, we will continue to pursue what our brothers died fighting for! As our armies shall now conquer Bree all the way through, happy Christmas and holidays are to be wished onto you; Lord Izzy, Middle Earth will be all in your thrall, to you and MissIzzy - merry Christmas to you all!
Excellent campaign....really enjoyed the quality of the Elven Units you've been able to field. Started watching your channel during the start of COVID and in some way, it helped ease the anxieties of that weird time in life. Have always loved the honesty and openness you've shared in this channel. I wish you, Ms Izzy, and all of your loved ones the Merriest of Christmas'...cheers
As much fun as fighting Sauron 1v1 would be, Mordor stackspam is a slog to get through as it is. I would be more inclined to have that as a special battle.
You ought to give away the one ring once you push Mordor back to Mordor. Otherwise, it'll be an even more of a slog to fight Mordor than it otherwise would be. Then we can have a final battle with Sauron, which would be pretty epic.
Great video, this has been on of my favorite campaigns! I think mordor will be too easy if you do not give them the ring. I'd prefer you either gove mordor the ring OR finish the campaign and try a new faction after the kin slaying is done
23:52 A way to make them drop the sige equipment is to give them a melee attack command by alt clicking the enemy and then cancelling the command with a move command after they drop the siege equipment.
