So, just got one of these and they are very cool. Regarding the 'Damage to the finish of your guitar' questions, the makers of Virtual Jeff purposely selected an adhesive tape for the mounting bracket that does not damage the finish. There is a QR code link in the included instructions that takes you to a video that shows you how to safely remove the tape residue (using Naptha). Regarding it being a more expensive version of the Digitec Whammy pedal,,,,,Virtual Jeff is quite different, and in my opinion much better. For starters, I think it tracks much better than the Digitec (or any pitch shifting pedal I've tried for that matter). The Blend and Hold features are brilliant. Being able to execute detailed whammy bar based techniques with a Digitec pedal can prove challenging and logistically limiting. Virtual Jeff, being on your guitar, free's up being tethered to your pedal board. Granted, the Digitec Whammy has cemented a firm place in the grand sonic tapestry, but Virtual Jeff is a great tool for taking things further; giving the 'hard-tail' guitars in one's collection new life. Finally, I purchased my Virtual Jeff Pro for 349$. Very reasonable for all that it does!

Very cool product. It's like a Transtrem with a Blend and Hold added. I, like another commentor here would be worried about the attachment and possible damage to a guitar's finish. Make it wireless and you've got a home run.

You can make it wireless with a little transmitter you plug into it…but I totally get what you are saying!!

Said this when you unboxed it but this is just the best invention ever. The extra functions are really great such as the negative capo so you don’t have to tune down. But to be able able to put a whammy onto something like a Gibson that never have one would just be fantastic. Super impressive.

Interesting idea but the unit, particularly that arm, doesn't appear very durable. The DigiTech Whammy pedal is half the price and there's no danger of marring the finish of your guitar.

It seems like it’s pretty good quality…and it is a bit different to the Whammy - with the Whammy you either go up in pitch or down on pitch on a different patch…with this you can go up and down in pitch in the same patch…they are definitely similar but also very different
