I like how this is meant for speed, but it also teaches that all details don't need to be picked out to make a mini look good. Intrusive mini thoughts cause me to paint stuff only I would notice and when I go through to see what I'd apply to an army I'm confused why it took me so long when it wasn't even a character. Great video :)

Loved the detailed analysis between painting steps-it really helped me understand the process better. The addition of a shopping list was a great touch! I think it would be awesome if you had a regular channel partner for the shoplist, making it available for every video. It feels much more relevant to the channel’s content than the usual marketing stuff. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for this video. Sometimes "obvious" things aren't so obvious, and seeing how you can quickly get an army painted for the table first was fantastic. Realizing I can go back and "finish" it later is certainly a great thing to keep in mind.

@@trovarion 1. Thank you for making this video. I love your content and its always a positive motivation to keep painting. 2. No one owns "oil washes" and this kind of evergreen content is great for everyone. Bless.

Its crazy how you give us such simple methods to make amazing looking minis in little time. Thanks to you I have found my style of painting and am pushing myself in all areas while keeping my expectations realistic. Something about your vids has me re watching them as well, that grimdark vid thats like an hour long I have watched so much and it never gets boring for me.

I came up with a similar method to paint my Iron Warriors. I do allt he armor and trim at once as if it's solid silver, then I use thin coats of Skeleton Hroe on the trim to make a more bull, bronze-y gold that already has good shading and highlights baked in.

@trovarion great video as always! One video i would love to see is how you approach creating a colour scheme. I see a lot of creators talking about how to execute a paint job but rarely talk about the methodology they used to come up a great colour scheme in the first place

For the gold I'd suggest you to swap your contrast yellow for snakebite leather contrast, you won't need adding another colour for a nice and quick gold

I really like your reasonable approach to army painting, and I'm in a very relatable spot with a new Old World army! I am very thankful for investing in an airbrush to do my base coating while models are partially/wholly unassembled, so I can get color on my army to play games, and come back with a brush to add details as the army grows. Quick editing feedback: not sure you need the motion tracking in the talking head shots; I notice a bit of black frame creeping in due to the scale of the footage being too low/too small for the movement. I think it works when you do quick punch-ins to emphasize a word or phrase in a sentence, but an entire speaking segment creates a bit of tension, at least for me.

People would definitely notice that burn sienna in the gold... because without it, it looked anything but gold. Imperial Fist yellow was IMO way, way too much, so you ended up correcting basically everything. You are a hundred times better painter than I am, so I was surprised that you didn't just go for a wash that was actually closer to the result.
@wolf-xf6hf

Personally I think a bright metallic dry brush on the first model after the pin wash would have gone a long way on the rest and would probably be mandatory for me especially since its such an easy step to do for batch painting

The one hour mark with the yellow added really gives it a graphic almost comic look. I dont mind the noise from the primer and oil, it reminds me of an old photocopy of a band poster colored with markers or a zine. Very punk.

Another great video. How long approximately in terms of painting time did the "this is okay" stage take, to about 5:55 in the video, and how many additional hours to get to the final result?
@trovarion
@trovarion 2 месяца назад
In a batchpainting setting you can get this down to 10 minutes. The final result took about 90 minutes, the glazing of shadows and highlights on the golds and the final highlights on the metal after the wash took the longest.

Whilst I can appreciate the speed and ease of this technique I can't help but think about the result that Marco Frisoni got with his technique in 1hr of painting. I'd like to see you try his paint technique and see how you go on video. edit: I spoke too soon. Wrote a comment before you added that colour variation. That is nice. My comment still stands. Let's see you paint in his style. See if it's as quick and easy as he makes it look. edit 2: added the link to the video im talking about. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K_jLQE-yO3k.htmlsi=2FIo1WRtN77xO8Ap

I always shy away from using varnishes with my airbrush. I'm still getting used to it an cleaning is an issue. I can clearly spot color residue but I'm afraid I miss some varnish which will cause some clogging.
