We receive the information in UTTU why she is there and about her species: Short version: Mermaids were hunted to extinction by Humans and Rusalka are what remained of Mermaids having blood from Mermaids and Humans and Arcanists. They have names for how much blood they have from Mermaids but they don't have 100% Mermaid blood in them Technically their whole species is Half-Blood but since Mermaids are extinct they are categorized as a species and not as Half-Blood Vila did something to be classified as a traitor and she sees herself as a half-blood because she is classified as a traitor by them -About Vila In her story, it is mentioned that she saved a scaleless and Samodiva does not agree with her decision, and Vila tells Samodiva to run away because there are many Humans nearby and he cannot fight with all of them. I think this scaleless person is Konstantin Simonov (real person: War poet, novelist, playwright, war correspondent) who is mentioned in Vila 2 Bond, is her teacher and she sent frequent messages informing him how the city is. But he died on August 28, 1979 and the letters with him took place when he was alive because she is a Rusalka having a very long life Meaning that what happened to her to make her a traitor happened a long time ago Her parents loved her so much that they chose to celebrate her birthday twice a year for both species. We don't know what happened to her parents, but we know she stayed with with the others Rusalka for some time, possibly to make peace between the Humans and them, but something happened, making her a traitor to them. I think they planned all these events for a future Anecdote for her.

Windsong's story isn't as sad imo, plus it's not anything we didn't know already; we just get to see it in more detail, so I'd say you should react to it. Then again, it's not exactly a happy story either, so... idk. P.S. I really didn't like Vila's anecdote. I wanted something happy after the main story of the game, damnit!
