The narratives surrounding OKC will help Shai win, even though Joker is most deserving. Out of the 7 stats you mentioned, Shai is the only one to have beat Joker in 2 of them so he is probably the 2nd best player in the league this season. The MVP order should start with Joker with Shai as 2nd, but I think the runner-up could win again this season.
And why do you think that Jokic deserves to win MVP more than Shai this year?? Have you noticed that Shai has 44 games this season where he scored 30 or more points? Do you understand how consistent he is. For example, despite the fact that Denver won last night let's be real, Jokic hadn't good game, it was bad game for his standrads. Shai this season literally never plays bad game, he is on a mission every single game when he is on the court, I haven't seen more consistent basketball player than him in a while aand OKC are winning, they have 1 win over Denver so as great Jokic's fan, I don't see a reason why Shai wouldn't ein this award. He is leader in steals amd has more blocks than every other point guard in the league while averaging nearly 50/40/90 31,2 points per game...
@@hristijandimitrovski8664 I’m an OKC fan by the way but it’s the truth that Jokic is the best player in the league statistically but I think Shai has a case for MVP if you add in certain off-court variables sure. That’s just not the most important thing to consider with it.
And you also have to understand that criteria of the MVP isn't just about who is the best player, eho has the best stats, but it's about winning. If your team isn't winning enough, you maybe wouldn't win MVP despite having the best stats than everyone else. Also to add that if you watch avdenced stats, it doesn't mean you are not a casual because like you said, orginary stats aren't everything and advenced stats also aren't always everything. For example, I admire advenced stats and they are great indicator of how impactful some player is on the court, but again, they aren't always 100% legit. For example, Jokic led the league in defensive +/- 4 years in a row and last 3 years his defensive +/- was 4,5. That's one of the greatest defensive +/- of all time, even Jordan in his greatest defensive season hadn't defensive +/- like that. Even guys like Mutombo and some other weren't even close to achieve that. So let meask you something, is Jokic the best defender in the league by that logic?? No, not even close Not just that he isn't the best, but he isn't even one of the best defenders, Jokic plays really solid defense last 3 seasons for me, I don't agree with these casuals who say that Jokic doesn't play defense, he definitely plays defense, but he is not elite on that side on the court and that's fact. Soo advenced stats aren't always proper metric to see how great some player is statisticly. If we talk about statistics, Luka is this season the best player.
Stop it😂😂😂 Harden didn't deserve MVP over Giannis in 2019, what a hell are you talking about??? Giannis led the league in per, winshares, he finished 2nd overall in defensive player of the year voting and playing way less minutes than Harden while Harden was among the leaders in minutes per game and not to mention his defense that wasn't nearly as good as Giannis's. Harden had crazy season that year not gonna lie, 36 points per game was something spectacular, but Giannis had more complete and better all around season without a doubt.
The advanced stats the article uses shows a players true impact and value to their team, which James Harden led in most of those stats, so that is why James Harden was put as the try MVP that year.
@@WilboHoops and as I remember, per is the most defining stat in basketball, stat that shows how efficient some player was that season. Giannis led the league with per of 31 while Harden had 30,3 or something like that. Again, they were really, really close, but I don't know man, Giannis was for me more balanced player that season, maybe I'm wrong...
