White Christmas has sold over 50,000,000 PHYSICAL units. Yeah not digital, physical... making it the best selling single in the world!
Christmas music while being a hit or miss to some, is overall universally loved and is a multi-billon dollar industry. The music tends to feel so nostalgic and beautiful, encouraging the unity of family and giving. But some of the best part of Christmas music is the history behind it.
White Christmas was a written in a different era, where things were a lot more grim - yet it managed to help provide people some sort of solace. Not only has it stood the test of time, it has also paved the way for many of the Christmas songs we listen to today, and overall, has helped define what most of us feel Christmas is about today.
