Ah yes. The best Su-25 variant in existence is coming as a premium. Cool Gaijin. Basically, in game the Su25T and Su39 in game right now are almost the same, difference being the radar pod. Su39 can carry R73, R27R and is capable of using the R77 aswell. Its also capable of carrying various anti-ship missiles. This stuff isn't in War Thunder yet, but when it comes, it will be locked behind a massive paywall nice.

The ability to use the Vikhr with the Mig-27k style camera is insane

Roland will have a hard time killing this, vikhr can just head on it to death, meanwhile Roland 3 sometimes doesn’t like to even crit su25

The Su-25TM (39) should have absolutely been added with the A-10C or another contemporary, but I feel the Su-25T and A-10A (L) are a great match.

Hey always remember if you see an ADATS on the enemy team make sure to fly in a straight line at it and fire multiple missiles with about one to two seconds in-between the vikhrs missiles. They can set off the warhead of the ADATS missile do to both of them having proxy fuse. 6 meters on the ADATS and IIRC 3 meters on the Vikhrs. The main reason I know this is do to playing the ADATS a shit ton the Ka-50/52 can out missile you when you try to shoot them and do to the high speed of the missile if you try to maneuver it around to avoid the enemy missile you'll end up missing.

I used to be excited for new patches/content updates but now every update I just see a reason to not play anymore, I hope Gaijin can really turn it around and bring WT back to the game I invested 3k hours into but deep down I know that'll probably never happen sadly

The kh29te missiles are TV guided so fire and forget and have a 30km range. You can carry two on the innermost pylons

I don't think there should be a second premium su-25 in war thunder, same goes for the A-10 imo.

It's really important to say when something is fire and forget or it's possible to ripple fire. Meaning designate a target, fire, count five, fire, count five, fire, first target hit select second target, second target hit, select third target, third target hit.

11:30 the su39 and su25 have IRCM, this stands for infrared counter measures. it only works against heat seeking missiles without IRCCM (ingame irccm is ECCM which is electronic counter counter measures), this is why the ty90s missiles arent affected, they have ECCM. this is also why the SAM you tested wasnt affected, currently, we have 2 types of SAMs in game: ones that use heatseekers which all have ECCM (besides the new-ish russian sam). theres also radar/optically guided sams, which dont use a heat seeking head, so obviously the IRCM wouldnt affect those. this system will be best against other jets and not much else. that is until we get more modern missiles with IRCCM. hopefully that clears up some of the confusion for you

Dang if only there was a way to play just ground vehicles in GROUND RB, I think it would be fair to allow pantsir and other AA aground vehicles into air RB for the sake of fairness

the SU39 is essentially a SU25T with an added kopoyo radar and thats it. There is also a two seater variant.

So a Subsonic Ka50 but the IRCM is nice on the Su-25T. But supposedly they fixed the Vihkrs in some way so they are not so OP but it didn't seem to much different to me

A year ago we got the a-10 and then in the next patch the su-25 so i think this time we get the su-25t and in the next patch the a-10c

The biggest thing I found with this plane on the Dev server was how incredibly simple and quick the laser locked on and how super accurate they are. Compared to the super buggy Mavs on the A10. It's such a blatant bullshit addition by Gaijin. Also, wasn't the missile only ever tested once against a radio controlled old bomber flying super slow?

Never thought that missiles found mostly on helis would be good on a jet platform.

the SPO-15 RWR is more useful that a lot of people expect tbh. it gives you the direction of the Radar source and a Strength of the signal, giving a good estimate for the range. it will priotise the threads and it can tell you what locks you up People just think its funny blinking lights, without looking into what it offers

What’s the default key for firing The Vikhr?

This game is so against beginners. There is no tutorial for high tier planes. I'm still trying to figure out how to lock the vikhrs and how to use that zoom optic to lock on

Best payload for Su 25- x16 vikhr atgm, x6 S25O, x2 R60M. you don't have to switch between weapons with this payload.

Ya i gave this thing a go and the Su-25T which is the same exact thing weapon-wise and might as well be the exact same thing. Also just like You/@JustinPlays just said this Su-39 really doesn't belong in the game this is very true as it has really no spot in AirRB or even GroundRB the thing is just gonna get DEMOLISHED being at 11.3 BR

A developer who cared about the gameplay would add the SA8 TOR system so that people could intercept A/G missiles.

I don't really see what this has that the A10 late doesn't aside from Vikhrs, but the A10 gets more AGM-65s. All in all I don't see it being a game changer, the Mig-27K will still be better just because it's faster at top tier this thing will get torn a new ass hole. So pretty much just a cool fun jet rather than one that's going to stomp. Vikhrs are better used with Helis than fixed wing.

Im pretty sure Gaijin could make a lot of money by selling Premium TopTier AA too. So the Players can Pay for good CAS an the possibility to counter it.

SU39 Is export version of SU-25T

From reading other comments and Wiki the Su-39 was considered too expensive to produce, so they produced the Su-25SM3, which is cheaper and more advanced than the Su-39. They will probably add the Su-25SM3 in TT, maybe people want a 5 Air AB Su-25 loadout, haha.

The difference between Su-25t and Su-39 is radar that's all And most spaa's will have ECCM missiles soo... not against ground stuff but for other planes IRCM is good

I get quite mad about Gaijin about this move. They create a plane that will be next to impossible to spade without getting serious mental damages, because it’s just a Piñata for other planes in 11.3 Air RB. So they create a solution with a 70$(I guess) price tag on it. And then they talk about a “fair play game” War Thunder, seriously? That one of the biggest d*ck moves in any free to play game I’ve ever seen.

There was a post on the forum to have the su 25t and su 39 swapped, I don't think it will happen but at least a quite a few people agree with it, like I said I don't think it will happen

Don't worry. Looks like ADATS has been nerfed and this both outranges the Stormer and can tank multiple Starstreaks if they don't hit right so there's very little that can reliably kill you.

from my understanding the Su-39 will be dookie at 11.3, worse than the Ka-50. The Su-39 vs any aircraft 11.3 or higher in air rb will struggle severely due to its subsonic speed and probably large payload (as youre most effective bombing bases since 2 R-60Ms wont cut it against bvr missiles at top tier). Vikhrs got a severe nerf so using them as AAMs only work if your enemy has no clue you're there and is flying slowly in a straight line. A huge reason why russian helicopters with vikhrs are considered OP in ground RB is the fact that: 1. Vikhrs were insane AAMs/AGMs 2. Vikhrs would detonate a SAM's proxy fuse and proceed to kill the SPAA that shot it 3. (Applies to all helis) They could hide behind or evade into cover Now if we were to look at the Su-39, as a fixed wing aircraft, having the dexterity and agility of a helicopter hugging a mountain is next to impossible. You're heavy, subsonic, and unmaneuverable, aka a very easy target for a top tier SPAA. It's also unlikely your Vikhr will detonate an SPAA's SAM as, unlike a hovering helicopter, the flight path your Vikhr takes to reach the SPAA wont intersect with the flight path the SPAA's SAM takes to reach you. That is, unless you face the SPAA head-on, which is the worst thing you can do as a plane in top tier ground RB. You'll speed into the battlefield and be left very vulnerable trying to fly away to avoid other SPAA that may spawn in. Not to mention the fact that any other jet at 11.3+ could easily intercept and shoot down a subsonic attacker with 16+ AGMs. All things considered I can safely say this thing will probably be dookie so long you have an SPAA or aircraft to shoot it down

the plane does belong in the game but 11.3 is a little low , people complain because it is slow and wont do good in air rb but thats the thing its a cas plane made to do good in ground rb your just using it in the wrong game mode. a simple fix would be making it 12.0 for ground rb then 11.3 in air then this thing wouldnt be as broken

justin the su39 gets the radar pod , so in the future they can give it r73/r77/r27er (if it performs bad). su25t can use those as su39 is export ver of su25tm (2000 variant of su25) while su25T is 80s iirc.

There's still a chance the USSR team will be mirrored on both sides of air RB matches even after all the shit we threw at Gaijin.
