Jack Ryan's choice of saving the little sisters also gives him something he's never had. A truly REAL family. The Wynands turned out to be a false memory implanted into his head. His birth father Andrew was extremely emotionally distant and forced his son to kill him just to prove to Jack that he's a slave and has no will of his own. Jack escapes Rapture and adopts children who have no family anymore just like him. His birth parents are dead and his imaginary parents never existed in the first place. He refuses to let this ruin his worldview and proves to his Rapture family that he is no slave but is in fact a man. A man with daughters. A man who is a father in law. A man with future grandchildren. A man with a family. A man who chose to live his life as a father and not as a slave meant to obey. He paved his own path to follow and made his own legacy. He probably resumed his fabricated farming lifestyle with the addition of his new children. He teaches his kids how to plant and make use of the land. He encourages his daughters to follow their dreams as long as it doesn't have anything to do with building underwater cities. He lives on until old age and dies being remembered not as a hero of Rapture but as a self made farmer and a great dad.
Wait atom comes from the slug things right and if I remember in an audio diary a doctor had patient who either didn't have arms or they were paralyzed but a atom slug fixed it so wouldn't he live a lot longer then the average man
@@bgheseger6937 the slug just gives you quicker regeneration of a damaged part of your body and makes you more resilient, that's why little sisters are tough and manage to survive way more damage than normal kids their age would. As for Jack, his growth was extremely rushed artificially, he has a body of a 20 year old when in fact he _existed_ for only 4 years or so. I guess such things don't go unnoticed by the body, so it ages just as quickly as it was forced to develop...
@Cody Hoffman Unfortunately, someone decided to send bots into the comments section spewing racial, homophobic, and other slurs non stop. I don't know why they did that and it sucks that people bot stuff like that (porn bots too), but shit unfortunately happens.
Just like Gordon Freeman and Isaac Clark (for the first game), I think that Jack being silent actually adds to his characters rather than taking away from it with the themes of freedom and control throughout the game.
I remember when I found the audio diary in the game and heard a poor puppy get killed by Jack. I hated him for I little bit, but I realized when Ryan said the whole mind control thing that it was the "Would you kindly?" phrase that triggered Jack to kill the dog.
That is the point. The carefully crafted antithesis of the utopia facade you get in the Rapture introduction to what the city looks like on the inside. Ken Levine is a master story teller and he knew how to hook players in from the very first 10 minutes of the game.
I dont know, maybe a word of disgust or horror wouldnt have changed that much, he made grunts when he jumped down somewhere or got hit. So it seems kinda weird. On the other Hand it might also be a clue to his state of mind as well as the fact that Rapture isnt entirely new to him.
Daveret Brunet just I giggle when i realize that both protagonist of bioshock, and half-life are essentially “slave” and freeman name is ironic considering that he isn’t free but is In fact a slave to godlike Lovecraftian alien being from a another Dimension. Aka Gman.
Would that make Jack an alternate version of Elizabeth? Andrew Ryan is essentially the Comstock of this Universe. Elizabeth/Anna is Comstock/Booker’s Daughter. While Jack is the Son of Andrew Ryan. He’s just one of the many different versions who didn’t get inter dimensional powers for obvious reasons. Elizabeth seemed to have a weird connection to him as she was seeing through his eyes in her final moments. That scene cemented that for me.
My experience in Rapture was unforgettable. All of the splicers I killed along with the big daddies and rescued little sisters helped make my experience in Rapture even better. First I was nothing more than a slave to Fontaine, but in the end I made a choice... a choice that ended Fontaine's life, a choice that gave the little sisters (and Elizabeth) a second chance at life, and finally a choice that ended Rapture's violent cycle. Thank you for making this video. The ultimate badass himself, Jack Ryan.
Dude you act like it's an underrated game. This game was regarded by many as one of the best game of all time, epsecially during last generation of consoles.
I doubt you'll see this but when I was younger I got ahold of bioshock for my 360. Now, I shouldn't have been playing it I was that young, but it was creepy and cool so I use to turn the tv down all the way at night and play it on school nights lol. So thanks, you just connected all the pieces I never realized because I was stupid and didn't really pay attention to subtitles beyond objectives and just played to play. So thank you kindly, one of my favorite games and favorite plot twists. I never realized half of this stuff.
@@TheBioshockHub it makes me sick to my stomach and infuriates me because i use to have a dog. It will almost be one year since she passed away at the age of 15. Every time i see Suchong's corpse, i pump his body full of shotgun schlugs. Serves that jackass right for smacking a little sister.
@@treyowen9213 I'm more confused at the big daddy i killed at the end of part one. Nothing survives that many bullets and just gets knocked out like that.
I've always wondered how Jack managed to ensure that *everyone* died in the crash, but that he survived, lol. A couple of notes: Jasmine didn't get pregnant accidentally. She was already in financial difficulty, and was approached by Tenenbaum and paid to get pregnant and then have them take the fetus. "It wouldn't be like a *real* pregnancy" she was told. This is in the audio diary under her bed. Tenenbaum doesn't tell him to become a Big Daddy to help him face Fontaine. It's that all of the doors Fontaine has gone through are not able to be opened without a Little Sister. He has to become a Big Daddy in order to get the girls to trust him and go with him to open the doors so he can *get* to Fontaine.
@@goldensentinel7715 Yeah, he was making a point how he (Fontaine) made it through WW2 without a scratch and how that gave him the confidence to go through with his evil plans.
@@sentinel8758 I thought he was talking about tenebaum. Becuase he was trying to convince us she isnt what she seems and that she went through ww2 and raputure without a scratch, theres more to her than it seems.
Okay guys, I'll keep this short. I REALLY want to stream tonight, but I'm exahusted due to not sleeping because of panic attacks. Do you guys want to see a short stream where I do the DLC / Additional Content for Bioshock 1 and just have a chill stream? Or should I wait until tomorrow when I have full energy?
After they escaped Rapture: Little Sister: "Dad, can I go to Tina's party?" Jack: "No, you're too young and I know how irresponsible Tina's parents are." Little Sister: "Would you kindly let me go...:3"
Compared to Atlas though, Jack had hardly any ADAM in his system.. at most ~3100 ADAM, meanwhile three stabs to Atlas gives you 750 ADAM, which is only a fraction of his total ADAM.
I have always thought that Jack had a talk trauma generated when he killed all the people in the plane and crashed it because of the horror of what he unwillingly was doing, I think that would explain why he doesn’t remember how the plane crashed till Ryan tells him because his mind lock those memories since the traumatic they where to Jack and caused his mute as a side effect.
That's actually pretty easy to explain. I mean after you find out about being mind controlled you still try to resist. Fontaine probably figured that it's easier to convince Jack he's a good guy and someone he can trust. He probably also thought just in case the mind control didnt work he could convince Jack to join him. Also Fontaine is a megalomaniac so he might just simply get joy over how much control he can exert over Jack by not only controlling his physical actions but also controlling how he thinks.
So my theory why he had to do this was because in the audio recording of suchong making jack kill the puppy, you could hear jack crying and saying no but the fraze was said and he still did it. I think jack like blacks out and has no control over his body but be is still in control of his thoughts and feelings.
FINALLY!! Someone who picks the good ending of the goddamn game because it's nice to be a good person as opposed to the eight billion other people who I've seen talk about this game who say "the bad ending fits the story better because of my pure misunderstanding about what tone is and the fact that I smell burnt toast." YOU HAVE EARNED YOURSELF A SUB, GOOD SIR!!!
I didnt know how hard it is to make videos 😂😂i had to do it for a project yesterday it took me 2 hours to record and and edit a video that was 2 minutes long.props to you bioshock hub for doing this almost everyday
Well to be fair, Jack's ability to have a childhood was stolen from Fontaine since he wanted him to be used as a weapon against his own father. He didn't care that he was placing another's person life into a slave, he didn't care that Jack was basically living a lie or was having his childhood robbed, he just wanted to control Rapture, regardless of who was the pawn at play.
@TheBioshockHub like imagine rasing a bunch of kids 5 to 10 years older to you while you're aging twice as fast. Good on Jack, that genetic abomination woth a heart of gold
I thoroughly enjoy your content and admire your upkeep of Bioshock videos to this day! I've been a long time follower and I only hope you gain the following this channel definitely deserves!
They only one that was hard was the first one on hard mode since you dont get any ammo and the wrench blows of the first portion of the game. The other ones are pretty easy.
jack ryan how did he go t out of rapture when he was younger that's dope i wonder what he felt when he saw his mothers corps and meeting his secret father
Have you ever considered talking to some of us over in the BS speedrunning community? Small group of us dedicated to mastering these games, I'm sure a handful of us would love to discuss this stuff and help with this content if you'd be up for it. If not I understand. Theres a link to the discord in the BSI speedruncom forum if you'd like to think about it. Great stuff, keep it up.
I find it Stupid with 2 "o's" that Fountain asked Jack to get his head squashed by a Big Daddy's Boot in an area with no, zero, not ta, zip of them in the place; and when Jack goes to leave to the sewer, Frank automatically thought process was that Jack is no longer under the "Would You Kindly" control and activates the "Code Yellow" command on Jack. Instead of seeing Jack encounter a Big Daddy and if he is under the control or not. 😤 That is just my opinion and rant, please do not take this to heart.
I would assume he would have his vocal chords repaired. Even in the 1950s vocal chord surgery was possible, even though it wasn't very common then and it still isn't really common for extreme injury to the vocal chords.
THANK YOU. This story has always confused the hell out of me and you explained it perfectly. Liked and subscribed my friend. Thanks for your hard work.
I think tenenbaum is the woman who gave birth to jack, since he was given to her as an embryo if a human boy he’d have to be born with a human birth cuz he’s not a test tube baby, so I think she gave birth to him through invetro fertilization, the little sister name makes so much more sense now too
Can you please make a video of talking about the big sisters?! I love this game and the fact you have a channel about it makes me very happy. Now my question can finally be answered so thank you so very much
Jack died of precocious old age. Remember that he was a 1 y.o. with the body of a 20 y.o., and the adult Little Sisters were clearly still young when he died.
You know I like the fact that this youtuber is liking and loving every comment that's awesome! Any ways I do like that this is on RU-vid. I thought I was like the only fan and I'm 12!
When you realized Jack was the only character that had a happy ending. Ik Delta went out peacefully and choices depends on players input, but he lived a full life along with raising a family. So it balances it out I guess.
Sigma had also bittersweet ending: he was able to return to his old life and even managed to come in terms with his loss. Dr. Tenenbaum also had a good ending as she returned to Rapture to rescue Little Sisters and she did exactly that.
okay-i got an audio diary glitch where after i got the one about jack killing the puppy, after every new audio diary, THE PUPPY ONE WOULD PLAY AGAIN!!! like any time, after the new diary, i would hear the puppy getting its neck broken. it was so upsetting😭
seeing does dead body like when you go find doc steinmen in a hallway you see a dead body on a wheel chair which freaked the hell out of me and a dead body in a bath tub doctor suchungs body was scary too
If we think about it, Jack could both hate Fontaine and be greatful for him. Without him he'd have probably been aborted by Ryan, but Fontaine only needed him so he can take Ryan out of the picture, and when he did, he wanted to get rid of him since he no longer needed his services. Quite interesting to think about it
Its crazy to think that fontaine went theough all of that just to kill one man but then again ryan was the king of rapture a guy like that is not easy to get to as you saw many tried to asssinate him and they all failed and eneded as plaks on his wall jack was a special case
THAT WAS AWESOME VIDEO, TheBioshockHub! That was the truth about Jack before crush down the ocean where Elizabeth see the furure Jack's gift card it said. Would you kindly. That how Fontaine control Jack to kill Andrew Ryan.
Yes, and think you reminding me that and everybody know underwater city Rapture and sky Columbia city. I wonder they make New Bioshock location city and new characters.
